That's worth quoting!!! I guess I need to give my parents a call to see what they're doing. If Rita makes a turn to the east, I'm sure they'll feel it. She seems like a big (widespread) storm like Katrina. I just worry that if it turns, they'll have a hard time running with the road conditions/closures around New Orleans.

Monica, glad you & your family are safe.

Monica, glad you got out early and are safe. My sons are on the road (as of last night) and should be fine. Hope there homes have well built roofs!! :earseek:

Have to play it by ear with the upcoming October trip to see them......

Monica, thanks for checking in. This looks like a monster. So far, my brother is still in Corpus Christi. Since it looks like he is on the "good" side of the storm, I hope he will be OK. He lives about a mile inland, so I hope he will at least find a shelter further inland.

Kevin told me you guys were talking about childbirth last night, and told me it was my fault. We could ask the guys to leave for a while, and really get into it!

OM, meant to say. A good friend told me about a product called "Simply Sleep". On those nights I'm just laying there for hours, I get up and take half a pill. Does the trick. Slight dry mouth is all I notice, and I'm really sensitive to meds.

I don't think we have mentioned that Kevin's sons and their families actually live in LaPorte, TX. It's on the north side of the bay, and has been mentioned as an area that's likely to be under water. We're so glad they're out of there. The latest projected track is just barely to the east of LaPorte.

Hate to tell you, but we're both taking the same thing:

Simply Sleep:

Active Ingredient:
spacer.gif
Diphenhydramine HCl 25 mg in each caplet

Benadryl:
Contains histamine-blocker diphenhydramine hydrochloride

The question is ... which one is cheaper???

You guys are a wealth of information!! Info or fluff, it's ALL good!!

:teeth: Mary posted this on another site

Cozumel gives you the best bang for history by taking the all day tour to the Tulum ruins.

Mary - I am very interested in the ruins....do you have any specific info? Come-on - give it up!!! Thanks... :teeth:

Mike and KT did the Mayan ruins tour on our '04 Western. Some part of our family will probably do it again b/c Nick will be studying the Mayans this year in history and it will be a good field trip. THAT'S why we cruise so often....it's educational!! ;)

Irene - I was answering what there was to do on the cruise besides just beaches etc. We've never been to Tulum but I've seen lots of great reports and pictures on it. We plan on going on the May cruise. We did do the San Gervasio ruins on Cozumel and enjoyed that.

Ditto! At least, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

We're going to do the Tulum Ruins with Mark & Mary....if they'll have us!

That's a cool T.O.P.! Shared with Ohiominnie, Mark, Mary and the Tulum Ruins!!

Thanks -- I am still planning the November cruise....was wondering about booking a tour, or doing it on our own. Of course, there is still diving to consider as an option.....I was looking for actual pyramids as well?????

Did you post a trip report on Cozemel? Can you find it?

Thanks.....

Awesome picture!!! I'm a sucker for sunsets...I just love them. I have a picture of a sunset coming home from Hawaii in the airplane. It's from way back before digital cameras, otherwise I would post it.

Thanks for posting that picture. I could almost feel the surf hitting my feet. The sound of the waves crashing against the surf. Calgon....take me away!!!! :rotfl2:
