Big milestone tonight. Both kids are now in youth group at church. That means Sunday night at Stonewoods for Sharon and I. We have waited many years for this to happen and we really enjoyed it tonight. :cool1:

Funny you say that... this morning, on the way home from church, Elizabeth was all excited because she figured out that by the time Christopher is in youth group, she'll be in High School; our youth group meets separately with the ages divided, and has dinner all together in between on Sunday nights... so I guess we'll be waiting 5 more years for them to be together... :rotfl2: . By that time, they might be able to get along for 2 solid hours at a time.

I can't believe this...

When we were at WDW, we forgot to go see the BARETENDERS!!!!!

How could we forget that?

Did I miss the reply to this post?????

No, you didn't miss it. I just have been MIA for a bit. We had a party in Phoenix last night, and I was with oldest DD Megan today, looking at the new apartment she and her DH are going to be movng into. YES....I get my apartment back. I'm going to replace all the carpet, flooring, etc...make it my own little hideaway! Whoo Hoo!

What Mary's :cheer2: , and Kevin's reference to "Texas" meant is that Jordan (freshman in high school this year) made the cheerleading squad. I'm pleased for her. I'm just not terribly excited because it will add to all the running that I already have to do...and I hate that they have to do fundraising. Seems like begging to me. But they already did some community service, so that's a great thing. It may end up being fun, we'll see. I'm just not the "cheer Mom" type...if there is one.

:scared1: :scared1: :faint: I don't believe it! TOTALLY forgot! Okay.......here's my excuse:
We had such a nice group of handsome DIS men with us, we didn't NEED to go see the Baretenders! (Works for me....points from you men??)

Wait a sec. I'm confused (that happens a lot)
I thought Megan had to surrender the dog because they were living in a place that didn't allow dogs....
but now you say you're going to get your apartment back...

were YOU the mean landlord that made them get rid of their dog?

Will they take the dog back now that they are moving?

Oh well...
My day of leisure and rest while dh and kids were at Cedar Point is coming to an end. Got all the bed sheets changed, washed and put back on. Plus 4 more loads of laundry. Vacuumed the house. Cleaned the bathrooms. Cross stitched. Watched a movie. Scrapbooked. DIS'd.

Wait a sec....that doesn't sound like leisure or rest! :)

Back into my corner and going back into lurk and rarely post mode....
It's been fun today! :)

So far, Megan & Pete have been living in an apartment that Jay & I own. It was our first apartment as a married couple....Jay had it custom made above and in front of the shop. We've rented it out ever since we moved into our house. But....we told the kids a long time ago that it was time to fly the nest, be responsible, etc. So they were going to move into a place that would allow 2 pets, but not 3. They have 2 cats and (they did have) the dog. Then...they went through a personal rough patch, and didn't move. Yet..I had the dog.
So now that they are back on track, they have found a different apartment, they are taking the cats....I didn't even ask if they were taking the dog. He's sick, and he's much better off with us, rather than with them, gone all day.
So....I am the mean landlord that kicked them out in the first place, yes......
And we're going to re-do the apartment so that we'll have a place to go in case we get stuck on the other side of the creek and need a place to sleep. I'm tired of renting it and never getting any $$ for it. So if it isn't going to make us any money, we may as well keep it for ourselves....or visitors!

AND.....DO NOT GO AWAY AND QUIT POSTING!! I was going to tell you....yesterday when Jay came home he had a handful of golf balls that he picks up on the road (there's a golf course along our road).....one of the balls had an OSU emblem on it!! I said "I have to send that one to Ohiominnie!!" they all just laughed.

Good Morning All - Busy day, Curves for me and then 2 drs appts for Jeanne. Have a good day!

Good morning all! I'm already at work this morning. I have a deadline coming up this week and still have a long way to go.

Our dining room is now PINK - about the color of Stacey's laundry room. That's the tinted primer. By the way, when I went to pick up paint & primer at Home Depot, I was looking at the names of the Disney paint. The bright pink was called Piglets Breathe. Hopefully tonight we'll be able to get a first code of red on. Yesterday I did most of the taping while DH started rolling. Then I did the lower trim while he did the upper. He was on an extension ladder all afternoon.

Hope everyone has good day.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Monday!

Back to work today. Guess I enjoyed the fest just a little too much. My face is red! Should have used sunscreen but didn't :guilty: Also gained a few pounds. So back to being good today! Have a great day everyone!

Yup, makes perfect sense. Sometimes you have to give them that kick in the butt or they'll be living "with" you forever. Saw my mom give that kick over and over and over and over to my siblings....actually, not totally true. She kicked my sisters out multiple multiple times (but they kept coming back) She only kicked my brother out once.....but he was about 32 when she did that! Me, I was never kicked out.....I grew up and moved out. ;)

WOW! What a shot! I'll bet they were playing the Scarlet course at the OSU golf course when they hit that. Amazing it made it all the way to you. Go, Tiger! ;)

Are you volunteering??? :teeth:

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year when Mike took the kids to Cedar Point we had 9 week old Maggie. This year, we have 13 week old Mowana.....

which do you think was a more peaceful year.

I think getting a dog is TOTALLY out of my system!

Good morning everyone....sorry, I've meen MIA this past weekend. They started "taping" the sheetrock and of course, the humidity is 100% and the second coat isn't exactly dry so they couldn't sand it. They are coming back today to sand the 2nd coat put the 3rd coat on. We brought down one of our window ACs and shut all the windows. That seems to have helped out a lot. Today, thank God, it's not soooo humid. Hot, but not humid. Heat I can deal with...humidity forget it. You can have the summer. I love the fall/winter. Clean, crisp air that you can actually breathe. I love the summer cause you get out and see a lot of people and can stay outside later than normal. Our neighborhood is the best. There are about 6 families that just hang out in our cul-de-sac at night after dinner sittin' around having a beer and the kids play. Life is good. Sorry to ramble.

Anyway....I'm off to block any openings to the existing bedrooms so the dust doesn't go everywhere(yeah right). If any of you have ever had new sheetrock put up, you know what I'm talking about.

15 more days until school starts...but who's counting? I AM!!! I can't wait for that yellow bus to stop in front of my house. September 7th I will be doing the HAPPY DANCE!!(Sept. 6th is 1/2 day). By the time I get out of the shower on the 6th, they'll be coming home already.

I have a question about these boards....when you include a quote, how do you just include part of the quote and not the whole thing? A little help here. Thanks.

Well, I guess I better get moving. Boys are still sleeping and I could get a jump start on them. Everyone have a great day.

TTFN,
Maria

I love the change of seasons too. Especially summer to fall. Winter I love as long as it snows. Hate cold, grey, and rainy.

Sounds wonderful!! I'd love to live somewhere like that.

Never new stuff, just mudded and sanded existing stuff. It IS a mess! I don't envy you on this point!

You guys start late! I remember when school never started before labor day. Of course, we didn't get out till the 3rd week in June either. Another school day for my kids. No yellow bus though.

Hit "QUOTE" and it will all show up. Then just delete the parts you don't want to include in your reply. Clear?

Maria - when you hit quote it will bring it up in the new window. Just go in and delete whatever part you don't want to quote.

Sounds like the house is coming along nicely. Congrats!

OM and Mary - Thanks you guys. That makes perfect sense. Now I know how you guys do the partial quotes.

OM - I love the snow, too. As long as I don't have to drive in it. The older I get, the more scared I am to drive in it.

I'm REALLY going now. I was just checking the other boards for a minute.

Have a great day.

Maria

There definitely "is one", but, contrary to popular opinion, most "cheer Moms" are not the "Cheer Mom" type... that's a myth. Believe me, I've been a "cheer Mom" (notice the lack of initial capitalization) for 5 years, and I'm definitely not a "Cheer Mom". It's no different than having a kid in any other sport... you cart them back and forth everywhere, spend a lot of time waiting, always have a good book in the car, and a bottomless wallet.
