It' that Hedgehog's fault - she gave me something call Smithwick's and then we listened to public radio and there was a puzzle - something about - take a word in four letters, and then change a letter and change a letter and change a letter - so it was Nick - Nack - Nace - Nate......maybe I need another Smithwick - soo sorry Nate...and howdy Nick!!!!!!

Wow Scoopie! You're one bright little cone!!! Can't wait to meet you in Feb.

It has taken me a full hour to catch up on today's posts... you guys have been busy!!!

Another day of football, football, football (and cheerleading, of course). Christopher's team won again... he made some great tackles... he's really loving being a linebacker, and is on the kick return team now, too. All 61 pounds of him... smallest kid on the team, but biggest heart, and totally fearless. (Ray's team lost again, but we won't talk about that.)

Just came back from Ritters... the frozen custard place that is usually our Sunday night stop... we really needed ice cream tonight...

Yeah Team :cheer2:

Having moved from New England to Florida, I've always been spoiled by good local seafood. (Though warm water seafood and cold water seafood are very different)... I cringe when I see Red Lobster commercials... its just not fresh! And I can't bring myself to order Maine Lobster here in FL... I'll never get it as fresh as it was back home... but FL has it's own great seafood.

Scuba is right... JB's Fish Camp is a great place here... most informal place you'll ever eat at (stray cats wandering on the deck looking for scraps), but terrific seafood!!! Hopefully we can get some of us together there the night before we sail!!

Can you send some of those stray cats to GA? to catch that Attic Rat?

Hee hee. I know there was a Harry Potter gag order when the new book came out. Don't want to spoil it for anyone.

I just will say I just finished the 1st season of 24. I am stunned. Wow. Won't say anymore. :)

Season 2 starts tomorrow!

Back to Harry - are we ready to start talking about the book?

If we're going to discuss it - I'm going to have to re-read it...can't remember...the kids watched the movies again - so, everything is running together.

OK, I need some ideas. I'm room mother for 5th grade. To be PC, the school has a 'harvest' party in place of the Halloween party. The theme this year is corn and soybeans/grain (it's Illinois, OK). I'm OK with snack (corn bread, candy corn, popcorn, etc.), but I need ideas for crafts and games with this theme. I was thinking whole wheat toast frisbee, or pasta building with blu-tack connectors, something along that line? Last year the theme was apples, and I had them build sculptures of apple chunks and toothpicks for craft/game/snack. I know you are all a bunch of creative people. I've been googling, with not many results. HELP!

How about making corn people to feed the squirrels. You take a bunch of corn on the cob to the class...they get the shucks all over the class room (you are welcome!), then take toothpicks to make arms and legs - maybe you could use carrots and stick a tooth pick in the carrot and into the corn corb.... Celery tops would make hair,,,,raisons would make eyes. After all this work, hang a noose around the corn person and feed it to the squirrels.... :rotfl: :rotfl:

OK - well, you get the basic idea..... I don't have kids, but I do have squirrels.... :rotfl2:

Mr. Scuba, you gave me a hard time about posting this for OHMinnie; but, now you refer to me as Irene!!! No offense Irene, just have give Mr. Scuba a hard time. Who know that more than OHMinnie would be interested.

Now, I LIKE the sound of that! :cool1: You did post that before but I forgot ... can anyone say old age setting in??? I may have to borrow some of those other older kids to help with our luggage. I have a feeling I still won't be able to carry ANYTHING ... that's my story & I'm stickin' to it!

We'll just put you in that Bud cart that KikiKaren posted and wheel you around.....what else do you need - free Bud and wheels.... :rotfl2:

Can I take that as a yes?

I did it - I can't believe it!!! I finally caught up on the posts -- wheweeeee......what a time you guys have had...me, I have been taken off more clothes in public than ever (airport security wanted my belt, my shoes, my hair barettes, my watch) and all in full view of the client...And, if that was not enough, I was "chosen" (do I feel special) for extra screening..... I told the lady I needed to "pee" (can I say that on the Dis)....you know how it is...you rush to the airport to get the pass - and then to security and you think you will stop later -- uh, huh,....then you get pulled aside....for more searches...your toes, your feet, your head, your back (which is still healing from having the skin pre-cancers taken off), now your back hurts, your dress - hey watch where you are putting that wand,,,,,didn't I tell you I had to pee!!!!! Then the a nickle and a penny falls out of my pocket, oops, I say, I must pick this up or they will think I am bribing you...

The security guard was bent over laughing....can't do that at my airport, I would have been arrested and would have had to ask them to call the Dis so you all collectively could bail me out...

Adventures over, time to do laundry......

Until tomorrow...

I was wondering this, too. We didn't do one on the Mexcan Riviera cruise, the line was soooo long......

Amanda!! Help!
THey are a bit more than the regular photos..It is an 8x10 and it was $19.95 for one...I am assuming the release will work, since there was no other option to buy different sizes.

Sharon and I love Sunday nights....both kids are at church and we are off to dinner. Tonight was soup and sandwich on the beach at North Turn. Great food, good beer (sorry, but not Smithwicks), and no kids.

It does not get any better than that! :rotfl2:

They say we will miss them when they go to college. Not! :cool1:

I'm thinking Sharon might have a different take on that. And you will miss your ready-made scuba buddy!

Did you get rained on? I got caught in the rain bringing Elizabeth to our church tonight... not sure if the rain made it beachside or not.
