Yeah, I think that's how it works. The advance is only a small part of the pay if the book sells well.

Actually, books don't get a 'cut' until sold, they're sent on consignment. I can't imagine the cash floating by the publisher behind 10 million copies.

Now that thought expressed, I'd have to think the 'sold' figures are reasonably accurate.

Good morning everyone. Hi Mary, looks like we're the early risers today. Me, I've been up since 4:30am, Eastern time. Couldn't sleep. I guess I've got too many things going through my little mind. It can't take all the overload.

Anyway, the new thread for tweens...can 9 1/2 year olds post on there? Is that a Tween? Is 10 y.o. better? Or should the younger ones start their own thread? Just thought that that would be a cute thing for AJ(DS9) to join in on.

STACEY - glad you made it back safe and sound. Sorry there were no winners. I love Vegas. Haven't been there for a long time, but visit NJ for my fix.

Gotta go now and start my day. I really don't want to. I would love to stay in bed ALL day!! Oh well...soon as camp is done. Just the rest of this week and next until we don't have to get up early in the morning. Hooorrraayyy!!! I'm a lounger at heart. NOT a morning person.

Another warm one, here in Tampa! I heard this morning, the Gulf temp. was 91! Big difference from the 62 that the water was in Cabo 2 weeks ago! How people can play in 62 degree water is beyond me.
