Cajun girl, I'm not spending $200! Your dress is gorgeous, wish I had it! But please tell me it is "forma". Looks formal to me.... :groom:

Irene, I sew (or least I used to before having kids) and could easily spend $200 just sewing a formal outfit. Let's just say I've done my share. A couple of velvet numbers and one tafetta for a Mardi Gras ball. My favorite was a black velvet tank top with Swarzovski crystal buttons and a gold organza skirt with an irredescent tafetta underlining. The tank top may still fit but know for sure that the skirt won't.

I know what you mean. DD is 'pooh' sized, and needed prom dresses 2 years in a row. I made both dresses for her, as it is very hard to find plus-sized formal wear on a budget. The material alone was some big bucks, but she looked beautiful both years. I can't believe that it has been 8 years ago since then. Where has the time gone. And they've been hanging in my extra closet every since :confused3 .

OK, I'm sitting in a quiet, closed library waiting for the UPS man who may or may not deliver my package today. I have so much to at home and running around to do. It's a good thing that I have all of my DIS friends to hang out with while I'm waiting :grouphug: .

My problem was the opposite - tall & thin. Couldn't find any floor length gowns (at least not floor length on me) in small sizes. Besides, it was a competition back then. Lots of girls that I worked with sewed back then. Every year for the company Christmas party we'd see who could out-do the other. We all dressed to the nines back then.

Are you getting rain from Dennis yet? You're in IL, right? Hopefully ours finally stopped - about an hour ago. The sun was starting to shine but disappeared again.

Can anyone tell I don't feel like working on this design document today???

We were going to stay at Fort Wilderness before the cruise, but now we've (mostly me) decided that the pop-up just won't do for a week's vacation. I doubt if we get a different RV between now and the cruise, so we have to decide what to do pre-cruise. I tried to get DH to tell me what he'd like to do, but he doesn't know. That just won't do for the obsessive/compulsive planner that I am. He's not keen on staying at WDW, and would like to stay at Cocoa Beach. We've stayed at the Marriott Courtyard, but anyone else stayed somewhere nice with beach access? :sunny:

We've stayed at the Hampton Inn there a couple of times and liked it a lot. It had easy access to the beach via a boardwalk. Great continental breakfast. And very nice staff who brought us lots of extra bedding after Nick puked all over. Are you seeing a theme....me and puke. Hmmmm....wonder what that means?

No rain, yet. It's supposed to start later on this evening, I think. I know that you're ready to get things dried out down there. We're looking forward to a couple of inches of rain, even though it does mean mowing the grass again. :umbrella: DH is reconsidering retiring to GA since y'all are getting bombarded with the aftermath of the hurricanes.

Do you have the tracking # so that you can go online to make sure that it is actually on today's truck and "out for delivery"??? That would save you a ton of time! Also- if the driver has in his notes that the library is closed today, you won't see it til tomorrow.

Yes, I've tracked it online and it says it's due for delivery today. I thought about them not stopping by since it's usually closed. I'm only waiting about 90 minutes total. That is the time frame that the UPS truck is usually here. It does give me a good excuse for not getting my house cleaned today and be online more. Gotta catch up. Haven't been getting my 4-a-day posts in this past week.

Sandi - did you put a note on the door so he knows you are in there? Wouldn't want you to miss him.

OK - didn't want you to wait for nothing!

I was checking out campgrounds at Myrtle Beach and noticed that one of them had their GPS coordinates listed on their home page. I thought about all of the DISers with GPS. :moped:

I've got all the lights on and DS is out front playing. If he drives by, he'll know that there's someone here.

And a TOP with Mary and the UPS guy?

Funny how so often the 'before having kids' gets added to "I used to"... same for me! Now I can't even get around to sewing what needs mending. Elizabeth gave me a few things that needed minor repairs a while back... I found them in my sewing basket when cleaning yesterday... now none of them fit- guess I don't need to fix them now!

(Procrastination solves many problems!)

I hope Mark doesn't find out about me and the UPS guy. :)

I'm out of here for today; giving up on the UPS delivery. I'll get it tomorrow, I'm sure. Everyone have a great day and evening. We've got VBS every night this week, and I volunteered, so will only be on the boards while at work. :wave2:
