And the biggest loss, no Living Statues! My niece even asked about them. I'm amazed that they are gone, they were so popular. But they still have the guy with the chairs in France (yawn). The World Showcase Players have a new show, though, that's lots of fun. Romeo and Edna. And they seem to really have beefed up the street performers at MGM. We sat and watched one show there that was not so amusing. I think it was the Hollywood Chorus?

what no statues - they were so much fun!!!

Please no posting of HP secrets at least until the evening of the 17th, I think I can read it in less than a day! Of course I may be working. :confused3

Maybe just a big longer - John and I will be fighting over it...

We sometimes rent an older comedy movie that we remember as very funny, and are kind of shocked at the content.

Yep , last year we rented Bad News Bears when Maggie's basketball team was going through a rough time - but, that lasted all of about 10 minutes...Didn't remember the language - and it's being remade with Billy Bob Thorton - ugh - won't take the kids to see that one...

Ever seen these people at AK? Talk about thinking 'outside the box'... oh wait... that would be INSIDE the box.... inside the teeny-tiny box... with your sister.... ick!!!

Kiki, I didn't know there was a contortionist act at AK. What are they called, and where do they perform? We'll have to try and catch their act next trip. Always on the lookout for something new...

Steve - I know for a fact that there are still Cat 9's available... I was looking into what others were left besides ours just yesterday... not sure about the other Cats.... didn't look at those, though I know there was availabilty in several higher categories. (See my earlier post a few days ago... I'm the one in the Cat 9 broom closet... no 7 phones in the room for me... sorry Stace...;) )

I got off the phone with DCL a short bit ago and there is plenty of Cat 9s. They had about 20 Cat 6s.

We are on the fence on the Cat; not to be confused with the cat on the fence. Do we fork out all points or pay cash for some? DW, DS, & I will be cruising.

Side note: We really enjoyed visiting Castaway Cay on day two. It was great to wake up to in the morning. The second is a HUGE bonus for us. :)

We took our first DCL cruise in 2002 on points. We had just added on, and had lots of points. For the 10 day cruise, we rented our points and used the money to pay cash for the cruise. We're doing the same thing for this next one. Really an individual choice, depends on what you value your points at vs. the cost of the cruise vs. the hassle of renting. I find it pretty easy to rent them.

What were your terms and conditions to rent your points? I have thought about doing it but want to ensure I don't end up on the short end of the stick.

Thanks in advance.

I had thought about volunteering at my local library. When I stopped by to ask, I am over 50 and retired, I was given a form to fill out. Pretty standard stuff, handed it in and left. I got a call about a week later from a woman who was not very nice. I still went in for the interview. The folks there are so snobby you can see their nose hair! I wouldn't work there for $$$$$ and definately not for free. I even try and use other branches rather than go there.

See... you fit RIGHT in with the rest of us!!!!!! Watch out... there will be 'awards' presented on the cruise, based on what goes on on the boards... the Wooden Spoon Award (for 'stirring the pot') and the Fluff award nominations are already underway!! I'm sure there are categories yet to be discovered... we've got lots of time!

Steve, I sent you an e-mail.

Hi Diana,

Thanks for the email! GReat info. When you say "45 days out", do you mean 45 days from the ressie, or 45 days after making the ressie?

OK other moms out there... what's your take on the Fantastic Four movie? Christopher is begging me to let him see it... to me, it doesn't look very 'kid-friendly' (he's 8), yet it's being hyped on Lunchables commercials, and in ToysRus... I just hate it when they hype the PG-13 movies for kids who still have 5 years to go...

Anyone???

Well call me bad mom, but I don't censor my children all to much. My parents never censored my books, movies or TV shows and I was grateful for that.I didn't seek things out as a kid, but if I came across something questionable, I tried to handle it with maturity. I will be letting CJ, Taylor and Max see the Fantastic Four. No biggie here. They all saw Star Wars and we loved it.

. . All the kids at the dance studio name Grease as their favorite movie, and we did let DD watch it pretty young, but that one's pretty bad, too! I guess pre-screening is the only way to go!

That was my next comment! I love love love GREASE always have and always will. I have been watching Grease since I was wee high, and I NEVER picked up on the sexual overtness in the film, until I was well grown. I am talking 18-19 ish guys. I also love love love Annie (with Carol BUrnett) and there is sexual overtones in it as well, coming from ms hannigan...again I was dumb to it...it is not until now seeing these "classics" with my kids that I see alot of that stuff and go wow...I totally missed it. For the record I was a relatively good respectable kid , graduated in the top 10% in my class ( of about 300) and never gave my parents problems

Joining the thread

We are Carolyn (DW) and Alex (DH), live in Florida and we are both RNs. We try to keep up with the boards but often fall behind. We joined the westbound repo thread, met lots of great disers, and decided to take the double dip cruise (if I can get the time off). We look forward to getting to know everyone. Alex

Hi Alex and Carolyn! Welcome to the family!!! Hope to see you posting and playing more!
