Love the new fish picture you have. Have you ever heard of a Humuhumunukunukuapuaa? It's in the trigger fish family. We saw it in Hawaii on our honeymoon (surprisingly I can still remember that). It's considered the Hawaiian state fish (not formally voted on). In Hawaiian humuhumu means "to fit pieces together" referring to its nest building habit, Nukunukuapuaa means "nose like a pig."

Hey, I did it. Really cool fish. That's the closest I ever came to SCUBA---it was actually snorkeling.

That's about as much knowledge I have about exotic fish. Does it impress ya? NOT!!! Snorkeling in Hawaii is like looking right into an aquarium. Colors galour!!

Well, I'll leave you with this info. I have to go to bed. We have to be at AJ's coach's house for 7:30am for an away travel baseball game. Wish me luck....

Remember... I'm a lot less 'chronologically impaired' than you are...

I remember gas being that price, but I wasn't old enough to buy it. When I first started having to BUY my OWN (for my gas-guzzling 10-yr old '74 Mustang with the thirsty 302), gas was $1.35.

So, am I making you feel old???

Snorkeling is very a lot of fun, but you can get right up on the "pretty fish" on scuba! Some of the best diving in the world is right at our fingertips in Florida! Great stuff!!

My only boy just turned 12....darn, I was hoping there would finally be someone his age to hang out with. My DD is 15. Told you all I was old! (Thanks for the canes, Karen)

If you're lucky, he'll get used to it and get over it...or get on the Boards too. I don't think mine will ever get used to it! He likes that I've met people, and was kind of disappointed that we didn't "know anyone" on our last cruise....but he still thinks I spend too much time here!

Don't worry about keeping up with the thread. Some people have real lives and can't keep up as well....that's ok, we'll take you when we can get you! My dh checks into the thread every 4 or 5 months or so

A few clues to the crazy double scoopers. We often celebrate when we get a post on the top of a page. There are 15 posts to a page so we you get to the next it goes to the top. Why do we celebrate? Don't really know other than it is fun! So if you see TOP it stands for Top Of Page.

Maybe I can stop being a cabin counsellor and just be "the scrapbooking lady." Does the "scrapbooking lady" get a nicer room? Private shower? A/C? Better food? (sigh)

Karen - I think you may have found your calling. Leave the Camp Counselor's job to someone else. Lisa's Gym Coach found a way out of having to stay in the cabin with all of the girls she is taking to camp. Apparently, between the girls she is taking and her Asst Coach's there won't be room for her in the cabin. She will have to stay in the Air Conditioned, TV, etc Lodge (where children aren't allowed) Poor Coach!!!!

Is KT a DR in training? Is Dr. Mike doing summer internships for aspiring physicians? If so, I have an almost 11 year old (which reminds me KT's birthday is coming soon - I just can't remember how many days older she is than Lisa) who would love to come train with you in the summers. You could have Dr Camp and Karen you can be the Counselor. (HA HA)

Just wanted to say Hello! I hope you all are doing well and even though the trip is still what seems like forever, at least its a little closer. LOL

Hello. The trip does seem like a long way away. I wish it was closer. Jim and I are going on our anniversary cruise in November (not DCL) and I just can't seem inspired to do much planning for it. I guess it's because I know the process at DCL and I know what I need to plan to do. Also, I would be looking forward to seeing all of my "friends" I have or have not meet yet. On our November Cruise, I guess I will just "wing it" since I really don't know what to plan and their boards don't give you a lot of advice. On their trips threads, there are exactly two trip reports and they were written more than a year ago. I guess that's why when we started talking about going to Alaska in 2007, we said it sure would be nice to bring the DCL crowd with us even if we can't sail on DCL (we can only wait so long for the "mystery" third ship)

Hey - I am old and I know it. However this past week we had dinner with our neighbors. Joan's birthday is today, so we were talking about age. He said he thought I was somewhere around 40. I said no - I was 40 when I took Lisa to Kindergarten (and it felt like I was old enough to be the mother of some of the mothers there) and she starts middle school this fall.
Also, Lisa's Coach is planning her 30th birthday party in a few years as a weekend cruise just for women (she is recently divorced). Some of the other Mom's and I told her we would love to come, but we might not be able to stay up quite as late as her younger friends as we would be close to 50 by then - She said "Wow you guys are old enough to be my Mom" - No Kidding!!!!

Hee hee...no. Actually, we were near Mike's office over the dinner hour last evening so we stopped in and visited with him while he ate dinner. Well, I visited, the kids played on the computer. As we were leaving, one of Mike's evening nurses was coming in with her little girl (KT and this girl took ballet together a couple of years ago) So.....I ended up leaving KT with Mike and then he brought her home when he was done seeing patients. Wouldn't have done it it if was busy like in the winter, but summer evening hours *usually* don't go as long.
