To be honest I haven't! But those guys in Hawaii have a lot of local words for things that you don't hear anywhere else either.TiggerInNY said:Kevin,
Love the new fish picture you have. Have you ever heard of a Humuhumunukunukuapuaa? It's in the trigger fish family. We saw it in Hawaii on our honeymoon (surprisingly I can still remember that). It's considered the Hawaiian state fish (not formally voted on). In Hawaiian humuhumu means "to fit pieces together" referring to its nest building habit, Nukunukuapuaa means "nose like a pig."

You're RIGHT!!kikipug said:I bet they have a doozie of a word for you!!!![]()
kikipug said:Well, its off to football... pray that the mosquitos don't eat me alive. There's about 3" of standing water on the entire field, thanks to our wonderful Florida weather... gotta love it! Never mind shoes, break out the snorkel fins...
Christopher will come home looking like a mud puppy once again- I make him sit on trash bags in my new car. Thankfully its only a mile or so to the field... he'll go from the car to the pool as soon as we get home- it practically takes the pressure washer to get him clean afterward- but he LOVES it!!!!
One local car wash has installed a 'pet washing station' behind the car wash. There's a big tub and a dispenser for pet shampoo.kikipug said:Christopher will come home looking like a mud puppy once again- I make him sit on trash bags in my new car. Well, it seems like it's going faster than I remember for our first cruise. I can't believe that this year is half over already, and DS will start school in a little over 6 weeks. But they say that time goes by faster the older you get. So for me the cruise should be here in no time. Glad to see you posting with us.Disney Fans said:Just wanted to say Hello! I'm not quite as fast as a lot of the posters on this thread. My DH used to think I was crazy for following this thread until we met Mary and Mark (WDWLVR and MarkRG) last month. Now he's excited to meet the rest of the new friends that we've made by posting on these boards. We even got him to post once or twice, but he can't keep up with everyone. He also is not a great typer, so just gets his re-cap of the important stuff from me. I came back from being gone last weekend to 20 new pages of 'stuff'. I plugged along and read it all, though. It's my only vice.Disney Fans said:You all are so funny and write so fast on this thread. Please don't mind how slow I may write back or spelling errors.LOL
My DH thinks I am a little crazy being on this Dis boards so much. LOL
scuba.mom said:Hey - I am old and I know it. However this past week we had dinner with our neighbors. Joan's birthday is today, so we were talking about age. He said he thought I was somewhere around 40. I said no - I was 40 when I took Lisa to Kindergarten (and it felt like I was old enough to be the mother of some of the mothers there) and she starts middle school this fall.
Also, Lisa's Coach is planning her 30th birthday party in a few years as a weekend cruise just for women (she is recently divorced). Some of the other Mom's and I told her we would love to come, but we might not be able to stay up quite as late as her younger friends as we would be close to 50 by then - She said "Wow you guys are old enough to be my Mom" - No Kidding!!!!

Congrats on finding your son alive and well!!scuba diver said:Live from San Pedro, Costa Rica!!!
I made it and have Matt. Sharon nows considers this trip a success since I have proof that Matt is alive.
He has taken me to the mall this morning so we can buy him some new shoes. Finding size 13 is pretty tough in this city. This afternoon it is off to his school to meet with his teacher and than to meet his family. He is already talking about coming back next year or possibly a trip with Sergio to Europe (figured I would post that here so Sharon will have a little time to vent before we get home).
Don´t know if I will be able to check in again, but it sure is a great place to visit.

Caleb was born 2 weeks before my 40th birthday. DH turned gray pretty early, so several times when we'd go out we'd be mistaken for his grandparents. DD's were 14 and 17 when he was born, and I was amazed at the number of people who asked them if they were his momjustmestace said:I was 35 when I had Jared, so yes...I felt pretty "out of the loop" when I took him to school. But it turned out okay....there are quite a few "older parents" in our community...the ones who built their careers first
I've heard how beautiful it is in Costa Rica. It was even listed on one of the 'best places to retire' lists that we've been reading. It's supposed to be very affordable, but the trip home to visit relatives would be challenging. Maybe that isn't such a bad thingscuba diver said:Live from San Pedro, Costa Rica!!!

When we moved older DD into her college dorm, the dorm monitor looked at her and asked 'and this is your.....'. She piped right in and said 'brother. There are quite a few 'older' moms where DS goes to school, now.
