Amanda, my ID is little*things . I just have some stuff in my store right now.

Hoop de Doo is a dinner show, very funny. Taylor is the perfect age for it. I don't know that it would be included in the free dining, though, since the normal price is $50 or $60 for adults.

Will post our favorite DINING top 10, or maybe 5, later. Got to eat steak now.

Kevin, Lake Mary is on the north side of Orlando, right on I-4. It is basically a northern sub of Orlando.
I saw that from the map. So, what kind of community is it?

6. Books -Blind Book Exchange - we all bring a book on the Double Scoop and exchange - Good Idea - Bad Idea -

Better not like Mike read this...he'd make some comment about how insensitive that was to bring up a "blind book" to a person with glaucoma! HA!

Here's Nick for you....shortly after Mike was having sky high eye pressures and his surgery, Nick and Mike went somewhere and Nick asked (as serious as can be) "dad, when you go blind can we get a handicapped sticker for the car?"

Not IF he goes blind...WHEN he goes blind!

Hey Kevin,

You had asked the new folks about Lake Mary. My sister has lived there for 3 years now

I just mapquested it b/c it sounded familiar. Only 36 miles from Grandma Lightbulb. She's in Grand Island :)

Cool, a TOP with Angie, her sister, and Grandma Lightbulb! (and technically Kevin and the "new people" too!)

By the time the Magic sets sail on May 27th, this thread is going to be a ROPE! You know, the big fat ones that tie the Magic to the pier. ;)

As a Newbie to this thread, I say we start a pole: Estimate the post count by the time the ship sets sail!

During the canal crossing, a few of us started a pool "Who wil guess the number of times the Magic blows the horn". Needless to say we all fell short! It was well into (if not beyond) the high 20s. Those are only the times we heard it blow.

Reflecting on days gone by:

When the Magic was departing Carocao (sp?), a Royal Caribeean ship thought they would have a battle of the horns with us. Needless to say after the Magic blowing seven times, they submitted. The deck of their ship had hundred of people screaming and cheering the Magic. It was awesome...

Sorry for the rant... this started out as a one liner. ::MickeyMo

I've seen the same thing in ports in the Caribbean. Once in Cozumel there was the infamous horn contest. Ppl on the RCCL ship next to us CHEERED and CLAPPED everytime the Magic blew her horn.

It is something to hear. We have it on our iPods....and I play it now and then and dream! :)

I do the same. Often times people walk by my office and ask why I am sobbing... :rotfl2:

What was really funny, the RC ship has the single <blap>. Te Magic played the "Wish Upon A Star". As a final HAA, she blew a HUGE <BLAP> right back to them. I had never heard that.

So, does he get that from his mother????? :rotfl2: The rye sense of humor, that is.......

It was the Magic giving the RC ship the raspberries!!!! ;)

If that was a rant, then RANT on!!

On the 10-day Christmas cruise there were some guesses as to post count. I think we far exceeded the estimates. What was it gang? over 26,000??

OK, talked about it over dinner. Here are the places we would go to over and over (and have), some if budget allowed:

Number 1: Victoria & Albert's (this is the budget one)
Number 2: California Grille (to heck with the budget, we go to this one anyway)
Number 3: Chefs de France (consistently wonderful)
Number 4: Bahama Breeze (not at WDW, but a must-do)
Number 4: Brown Derby (based on our last really excellent meal there)
Number 5: Kona Cafe (also consistently delicious)
Number 6: Prime Time Cafe (still hoping to get a really FUN cousin)
Number 7: Boma (Zebra Domes, need I say more)
Number 8: Beaches and Cream (ice cream)
Number 9: Earl of Sandwich (yummy good and cheap)
Number 10: Fiesta Margaritas in Mexico (oops, that isn't a restaurant)

We have also liked, and will return if the occasion demands: Cape May, Palio at the Swan, Spoodles, Rose & Crown, Tusker House, Flame Tree Barbecue, Hollywood & Vine, Matsunomu Lounge, Tepenyaki, Flying Fish, Pepper Market, Artist's Palette at Saratoga Springs.

Alicia and I are going to try Kimono's in the Swan for sushi in July. First time, we're excited! We might even stay for the karaoke. None of you will be there, right?

No comment on any other restaurants, though we have tried almost all of them. YMMV

We are HUGE fans of Jiko. The food and wine is outstanding. The Cast is simply outstanding as well. A true experience if you haven't been before. Of course, just my humble opinion. ::MickeyMo

We ate there this last trip. The service was excellent, but I choose the Monkfish which was bboooooorrrriinnngg!! Alicia had the fillet, and the one bite I got was VERY good!

The have an all African wine selection. Not being familiar with African vintages, made the selection tough. We did alright though!!

Sorry to say we tried Jiko on our most recent trip, and it just didn't blow us away. Maybe it was where we sat, we were just above a large family with several young children. I had lamb, Kevin had pork, and Alicia announce "I'm having the filet!" ($33). We told her, OK, but nothing else. She liked her meal a LOT. Dessert was good, though. We are not fans of African wines either, and that's all they have now.

Hey Scubas! Does your V&A menu say what the port pairing was with the cheesecake course? Kevin doesn't know where he put our menus, and I want some of that! I think Jim had it too.
