Uh Oh, my bad. So what's the word when MEN have hair in places they shouldn't?

We interrupt this evenings fluff to bring you the following post of substance... :teeth:

According to dictionary.com and confirmed by emedicine.com - the general term for excessive hair growth is Congenital Hypertrichosis Lanuginosa or Hypertrichosis for short- emedicine goes on to say that in the US - it is rare - internationally it is also rare with fewer than 40 cases reported.

now we return to our regularly scheduled fluff...

Reference librarians are my idols!

Okay, back to growlers. The 'blue ice' is beautiful. We even saw a team of climbers on the ice. Artic terns and a few eagles. The town of Skagway is 4 blocks X 9 blocks. Sarah and I loved the wooden sidewalks.

Wednesday we cruised Hubbard Glacier. 300' high and over 1/2 mile wide in the bay. Lots of BIG growlers to dodge (in a 960' ship). Just incredible to see. Saw and heard about 5-6 calvings, ice breaking off the glacier and falling into the bay. Sounds like thunder. Radiance was having trouble manuevering (sp) in the current and dodging the ice so we didn't get to stay for the 3 hours. It was sleeting, cold and windy but Jeanne and I stayed out for over an hour. Then we watched from our balcony, we lucked out and it was under cover. Because of the clouds didn't get to see the mountain range. We did get a quick view of Mt St Elias ( over 20 miles inland). Then on to Ketchikan. Mid 70's and sunshine! Rode the duck for a tour of the town and the harbor. We had GREAT weather for a Southest Alaska cruise. Our last day was high 60's and partly sunny. I spent the day with the binoculars looking for wildlife, bears, moose, whales, eagles.... I saw 2 spouts and 3 shapes in the water but only one orca, came completely out of the water! How amazing!

There was a guy in our high school that had that problem! We always said that if he been in the womb an hour longer, he would have turned into a gorilla!! :earseek:

wonder what he looks like today????

Kevin,

tech toys, SCUBA, and awesome pictures - are you my dh's long lost twin?

Gotta luv digital! - occasionally, I get to use John's camera...He's making noises about upgrading - I always get nervous because that usually means a new computer, memory, and a new printer to go along with the new camera...

Time for a change!

Went with the Blue Parrot Fish. These guys eat coral, and make smaller pieces, bascially turning it into sand! It's quite amazing to hear them underwater, it sounds like the snap, crackle and pop of rice krispies on milk!

What's that saying about boys and their toys.........

I actually have a pretty old 4mp Olympus C4040 that with an underwater housing that works pretty well. But, you wonder if getting a better camera will help????? The problem is that when you factor the underwater housing, new strobes and all the accessories it get REAL expensive, and quick!! :earseek: :earseek:

BTW, I'd like to share a compliment as well. The Scoopie web site is pretty awesome. Looks like time is running out for Scoopie to visit with us :sad2:

That's one busy Cone!!

You should talk to DD, Alicia! She really enjoys the ocean dives we make. Back home, it's hard to talk her into going with me to the local dive spot. Colder, not much to see. Poor little thing gets bored........

I remember going back to the ship after making a couple of dives in Cozumel. She turns to me and says:

"Dad, I have a new favorite color!"

oh?

Yes, it's Cozumel Ocean Blue!!

They should definitely put that one in the Crayola box!!!

Kevin - that is sooo cool that you get to spend time with Alicia like that. I agree, that sounds like an awesome color. Check it out with Crayola. They could use a new color and blue is MY favorite.

Well...the framing went really fast..8 working days and the framing was all done. Now, the plumber (my DH) and the electrician are working inside. The electrician has only come but once. He's a friend of ours and it's starting to get a little annoying, if you know what I mean. He's giving us a really good price, but we need it done. I ordered our cabinets on Saturday and am getting prices for appliances. We basically need every appliance. Double wall oven, cooktop (gas), French door refrigerator (25 cu.ft.), and vented microwave over the cooktop. Nice chunck of change for all that. Hope we don't run out of money!!! THAT would not be funny. How does plywood floors sound to you? Not good... But otherwise, things are coming along..the windows are in and the glass block windows in the dining room are here. Really cool.

Thanks for asking. You mean you're not getting bored with my updates? Maybe you were away when the last one was posted? Sorry if I'm boring you guys, I feel like I'm giving birth to a new addition (a little play on words...hahahaha) I'm crackin' myself up.

TTFN,
Maria

Sounds like it's coming along fine. It always amazes me (and I'm in the biz) how fast costs add up!
The electrician problems sound about right. I get real impatient when guys tell me for days that they will be on the job tomorrow! :sad2:

Hey, your updates can't be any worse than us talking about hairy moons....... :rolleyes1

Pick up your phone. I just called and left you a message. Call me back.

I'm not touching THAT subject. Remember, I have 4 older brothers....we'll leave it at that. :rotfl2: There's really nothing right now that I could show you and you could understand what it is. It's just a bunch of 2 x 6 wall studs now. Wait until the sheetrock goes up. That's when the pictures start taking form. The cabinets are another good focal point. In good time...in good time. I'm being very good about everything. I thought I would be going crazy..all my neighbors did too. Guess I'm proving everyone wrong. Na Nah nah...

Hey Kevin, I had dinner tonight with Vince Collins, the football coach of Valley High School.

We can talk tomorrow, via phone, regarding diving in August. I talked to Red.
