Don't do it... don't do it... don't do it!!!!!! I love our dog, but cannot WAIT for the day that we are dog-free!!!!!! Just to be able to pack up and go for more than 12 hours without thinking about who's gonna let her out, and who's gonna feed her!!!!!! Besides the fact that she hogs the blankets (and doesn't sleep on the bed), barks for no reason (greyhounds "supposedy" don't bark), thinks the dishwasher is a snackbar, and is an overall PITA!!!

Woo-hoo... a Karen & Karen top, with the dog that she doesn't own!!

Our kitty is a PITA sometimes too. But we do love him dearly, the $1000 I spent at the Vet's in the last couple of months will attest to that. He's hanging in there, but I know that if we lose him, DD will want another kitten pronto. And I say noooooo. I'm the one who gets to be home all day and entertain the little beast.

By the way, hon, have you arranged for our cat babysitter for our upcoming trip?

Karen, I was thinking about you and Maggie. My brother and DSIL have a Papillon puppy who is going through the Alpha dog phase. He has even bitten my neice, and nipped DD when she was there the other night. It's quite different, though, when the dog only weighs ounces and has little tiny teeth. Little dogs sure can be crabby.

It's really sad when you communicate more effectively through the DIS boards than a phone or in person.......... :rolleyes1

and NO I have not! I thought you were going to do it.... :duck:

Karen, I was thinking about you and Maggie.

Actually, I bumped into our trainer the other day and was telling her we got rid of Maggie and told her the reasons why. I mentioned the doggie day care place (where she also works) and told her it was great way to wear her out, but distance wise, it wasn't so feasible. Then she told me, now that we've gotten rid of her, the truth. She said "no one liked Maggie at the day care center." :earseek: WHAT? She said they don't tell parents that when they are bringing the dogs, but now she'd let me know....Maggie terrorized all of the other dogs there, she was rude, jumped up on everything and never listened to any commands. She then said again that everyone there didn't like her. Also after talking to her more specifically about Maggie's behaviors, she told me that the way she acted was SOOOO out of line for a typical retriever that she wondered if there wasn't something wrong "up there" (pointing to her head.)

And here I thought there was something wrong "up here" (pointing to my head) to explain why I couldn't control a dog!

In December of last year, my DW (Soprano) posted to this thread and remarked that she had just read all 18 pages of it. Today, I am posting here for the first time and see that it is now up to 324 pages! Amazing.

I read and occasionally post on the regular board and was asked by TiggerInNY to also post here. Greetings to our fellow cruisers. We are really looking forward to two CC days next May.

thomprod! Welcome! I see my invitation was too late...I just responded to your post. Join right in...........

Ohminnie......NO PUPPIES! I know of a nice little not-quite-two year old Lhasa that could use a home with kids! He doesn't bite, doesn't bark, is very loving......did I mention that he is not housebroken....oh, you can fix that.......did I mention that "Grandma" doesn't really want custody? I bought a book " Your Outta Control Adopted Dog". I hope it helps. AND.....didn't we all TELL you that it wasn't your fault????

Kittens....kittens are nice. Diana, I think Alicia should have TWO kittens! (stirring the pot)
Kevin.....I specifically remember Diana asking you to call about the cat babysitter! (stirring it a little more.....)

I'm leaving now......TTFN

After the last post, Stacey wins the award for "Stirring the most pots in a single post".

Hey Scuba... you finally found someone to pass off the "Wooden Spoon Award" to...

Hmm... I think we'll need a REAL "DIS Wooden Spoon Award" for the cruise... I've got time devise a good one!!! It can be awarded to a different DIS Double Scooper every day!

You'll have to look for one that looks like an ice cream scoop!

Hmm... last chili cook-off that I was in, we were stirring the pot with a canoe paddle... what kinds of looks do you think we'd get carrying one of THOSE on board!!! (I wonder if they are available in lime green???)

Nothing like an early morning TOP to start the day!

Karen - You were in a chili contest? Cool. How did you do?

Mary - I found someone who does embroidery on shirts, etc. A friend of mine whom I work with has a machine that does all that stuff. I knew she was crafty, but had no idea until I saw something that she did. So, the embroidery part is taken care of. She said she has all kinds of patterns, and if she doesn't have one, there's a website she could get it from. I told her all about the scoops. Just an FYI update.

I have been reading all of these last couple of days' posts and am crackin' up. You guys are funny. I CAN'T wait to meet all of you. God, I wish we were going this May.

OK, reality check (I just pinched myself) back to my housework. I know you're all jealous. Eat your hearts out. hahahaha :rotfl:

TTFN,
Maria :flower:

Maria - that is very cool! One thing you may want to ask is if it easier to put the numbers under the logo instead of making them part of it. While it would look cool with the names in the logo I'm wondering if that would take a lot more time.

Thanks for taking this on. We just got our shirts for the DVC Member Cruise and it is going to be such fun to show up at the port in matching shirts again!

Our company sponsors a chili cookoff hosted by my bosses Rotary Club... we have taken the "People's Choice" award for the past few years. This past year, we made "Michelob AmberBock Chili"... mmmmm!! We haven't started working on this year's 'creation' yet, but I'm sure it will be a good one! It's always a fun day, regardless of how the chili comes out!

And I missed all the fun last night. The binoculars, Stacey helping me out, spoons. Oh, but I was having fun. Teacher meetings are always great.

Yes, he knows that getting the babysitter for the cat is his job. It's his niece, and he sees his sister at work EVERY day!

Jim, you aren't going to just sit there and let Stacey take your title, are you?
