Hey, Kevin...we saw some of those little fishies in Puerto Vallarta...the one you have posted right now.

I'm a mean mommy (some of you knew that)....no Father's Day gift. When all I get for Mother's Day is Taco Bell...I see no reason to go out of my way. Besides, I just took him on a cruise! (Yep...I pay for the cruises)

Not here. There is no round a bout. It goes something like this "mike, what do you want the kids to get you for Father's day?"
"I want a (fill in the blank.)"
"ok, you buy it so you're sure to get exactly what you want, and we'll wrap it for you." ;)

We normally do something like that, but every once in a while it is nice to be surprised, something they picked out.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Tuesday!

Back to work I go! I see Karen passed me in the postings - that's ok. I have plenty of time to catch up before the cruise. :)

We don't really do presents around here either but I agree that it's nice to be surprised sometimes.

DH Bruce just bought a pair of nice Ray-ban sunglasses now that he's had lasik surgery. He felt guilty about spending the money, so I told him that was his Father's Day present. Emily & I went to the mall this weekend. Our Disney store is closing for remodel so everything was marked down. We bought him a $5 Bruce (the shark from Nemo) t-shirt. That'll be his first Disney item that he owns! Not sure how much he'll wear it though.

Pam,

Was it you that was looking for the bedding at Target? I couldn't find it at our Target. But I just got a Potty Barn Teen catalog in the mail. It had something in it that looked similar to what you described. I'm sure it was quite a bit more than Target though.

Good Morning All!

:sunny: In D.C.

I'll have to keep John away from previous topics - new GPS/new Grill - for Father's Day :scared1: :scared1: - chiming in a bit late on the present issue - he usually orders something about April and says "This is my Father's Day present" - then usually because his b-day is about the same time as F.D.- he orders something else for his birthday - I think he's got a scam going because then the kids want to shop in the week leading up to Father's Day and his b-day so, he gets a double load ;)

If his b-day WASN'T near Father's Day, he'd get two presents, right??? My dad is the same way- his b-day was Sunday... he always used to lose out on one of the holidays (and his anniversary is 6/21... so it would get even worse- it was usually 1 dinner to celebrate all 3...). My b-day is the week after Valentine's Day- so its important to stretch that week in between out as looooonnnnngggg as I can- don't want any double-scooping going on. (Tho' I can never figure out what I want for my b-day, so its usually useless...)

I'll try to tell you...

in order to quote someone you have to type [ quote = their name ] (but you can't leave spaces in that)....

then you copy and paste whatever you want to have them quoted as saying (you can scroll down the reply page to find it or have a separate window open)

then at the end of each person's quote you end with [ / quote ] --again, no spaces.

you don't have to type their dis name after the initial [ quote = ] string...

I can do this

Or... the easy way... open 2 windows, use the quote button, copy and paste as needed into the original window, then use the back button on the window you pasted out of...

When we used to cruise out of Boston, we'd leave on Mother's Day... that was always great.... nothing like pulling away from land and knowing that your kids were treating Gramma to 7 days of uninterupted quality time for Mother's Day!!! Wasn't I so nice to my Mom!!!??

OK boys I need help...my DH has been wanting a gas grill for a while now, but has never went and bought it himself. I think he wants me to get it fr him. With Fathers day and his birthday on the 18th of this month I was hoping you could give me ideas on what to look for in a grill?Jim, Kevin, Larry or MosBo, if you were to buy a new grill what would you buy ( link please) and why?

DH works at Home Depot and guess what - sells these. I will ask him for his specific recommendations, but I betcha it will be a Weber. And then there is the cost factor.....hum, how about a set of grill tools wrapped up in a bow and a gift card to the HD store?

So we are all having grilled Alligator for Father's Day if we can locate the house with the GPS bearing armfuls of flowers?????????????????

Busy Day - I am out of here...

Oh, and it's still :sunny:

Cute little guys aren't they? I like the way their fins work, keeping them in one spot. They are fun to watch.

Oh, how awful!!

I don't ride this ride. Never have. But I've never thought about death....just motion sickness and being enclosed in a tight spot.

I wonder if he had some sort of underlying condition that wasn't known. Thousands of other kids have ridden this without incident. Including my OWN!

Probably..... I guess it's possible that he aspirated (choked on his own vomit) - most likely, IMHO, is that he had some sort of brain aneurysm like problem - and he suffered a stroke - purely speculation - but I have ridden the ride and just don't know of a common medical condition that would have caused this.

Yup, I was thinking some sort of unknown brain aneurysm....or something like a dissecting vertebral artery aneurysm. We had a friend with that who had a stroke after a chiropractor adjustment!! I'm thinking your neck whipping around in MS could do the same thing....

Although, I've never ridden it, so I'm not sure how much neck movement you really get. This last trip I finally went through the queue line just to see the theming...but quickly went through the chicken exit after the pre-boarding briefing.

Sad, sad, sad.

In other news..... our litigious society strikes again......

" Two dozen passengers sued the Norwegian Cruise Line for $100 million yesterday after one of its ships was battered by a fierce storm while racing back to New York for a TV shoot for "The Apprentice."

Let me guess... 24 first-time cruisers who's entire marine-transportation experience consists of the "IASW" boat ride???
