Greetings from the Boardwalk. Had a nasty time getting here but enjoyed food and wine festival this afternoon. Now just chilling in the room.

Good Morning Everyone!

We're off and running today. John left at 6:30 to go shoot a kids' triathlon and then finishing sound, lights and set for the dress rehearsal tomorrow. Mike just was picked up for Regional Band Auditions all day, Maggie has 9:30 lacrosse practice and an 11:30 tap dance performance. This afternoon, we're meeting our theatre group's cast of Arsenic and Old Lace downtown Houston for dinner. Then we're all attending The Alley Theatre's (our acclaimed regional theatre) production of Arsenic and Old Lace... whew!

My brain is on overload. I'm still learning new things at therapy and starting to get around pretty well, but have already started trying to think ahead about what I need to pack to go to my Mom's...and about which of my things I'll need (walker, boot, etc).....I really would have liked to have been at the point where I was wearing my own regular tennies and not had to worry about all that other junk.....but unless a miracle happens in a week..... Also need to see if I even have any jeans that still fit me....it's chilly there.

Anyway...not much else going on. It just seems that I have a million things to do and am not getting them done, but on the other hand, I don't really seem to care if they get done either. It's more a matter of not knowing where to start any more.

Megan will be heading for Ohio probably on the 29th or 30th of this month.
The plan is that Dave will be flying to Phoenix this coming Friday (just what I need...company!) to help her load her car with just the pets and the essentials, and they'll drive it back. They plan on coming back in the Spring to get a U-Haul for all of her furniture. But they also plan on stopping in Omaha for a day or two, to meet the rest of my family.
Normally, this would be a great thing. But the timing on that kind of stinks, since my Dad will be having surgery and I can just imagine my clean-freak mom, trying to take care of Dad, meet the new fiance, and have 2 cats and a dog in her house!!
You know (I'm a sick, sick person) the more I think about it, this may end up being the best entertainment I will have had in a long time! :rotfl:

Stacey - I have a quick cruise question.

We have charted a private sail boat for our Thanksgiving cruise in St. Thomas. This is a open bar (dangerous with our neighbor Mike on it), lunch, and snorkle all day trip.

"Everything" is provided. From you experience, since you have charted these before, is there anything special we should bring, ask for, expect, etc.

All of my private charters have been just for diving so this is a new experience for us. Enlighten me! :hippie:

Obviously, if anyone is allergic to anything, you need to contact them ahead of time...and you can also let them know what your drink preferences are, and most will try their best to have that available. Like my Pepsi for example. But most of the time, they will have a local "soda" in the cooler, because it's less expensive.
All you'll need is your snorkel gear, if you plan to snorkel, and towels. Be prepared to remove your shoes before you board....most are picky about that.
And the WILL stand and wait for a tip when you return.
We've chartered privately in St Thomas, twice. What company did you use? Usually, the food is really fantastic. The best was with the sailboat we chartered while we were on the Princess cruise.

Today is my baby girl's (Ashley) 5th birthday! We had her b-day party yesterday then she had a friend spend the night last night. Emily went spend the night at the friend's house with her big sister.

Emily has a mouth full of nothing right now ... that is, she's missing 3 top front teeth. 2 fell out yesterday. She sounds funny when she talks. I'll have to take a picture of the toothless wonder!

I keep checking out Mary's report thread. I anxious to see what kind of surprises they have this year.

Mary
Hope you are having a great time at F&W. If you are at DTD stop by WOD and say HI to Vanessa. She typically works late afternoon or evenings in either the BBB or Watches and Jewlery. (except Mondays which are her day off)
Have a great time cruising!!

And I'm leaving for WDW tomorrow! Yay! Trying to get packed, I do my best work last minute. If anyone will be around Epcot this next week, would love to see you. PM for my cel phone number, OK?

Hi all, the schedule has been bruttle lately....all work and no DIS.

This one is for Jim and Kevin....

Note: Irene should not be allowed on boat when seas are going up and down at 5 foot intervals. The result is not pretty....I got the first dive in..Saw and octopus but the hour surface interval did me in...for 3 days....

This weekend it was less than 2 and flat for the 2nd dive...Two great dives. The Mitzpah - always fun and the Breakers where we swam with 2 squid...so cute. Much much better....

A group of the regulars is trying to put together a weekend of advanced diving. Not sure when that will be, but hope that we have calm seas...

(There is a change you can see whale sharks off Palm Beach - can't wait for that, expcet it is in the winter...neat stuff to see (in the cold) and in the rough seas...

Later...

This one is for the Ohio Mices....

Congratulations
at being number 1 again.

Hey, there is only so much humble pie I can eat. At least this weekend we won again...finally, about time....

And to all the food and wine groupies....

Have fun, but leave some for us. We are heading back on Saturday for another festival of the senses. this week we are eating salads -- why --- well, so that we can have some extra pounds for all the yummies...

I will need to check the back posts, but does anyone else love the Duck and Rice at Peru? A close second is the Mushroom Spatzle in Germany.

To those of you we will see this next weekend....I can't wait.

For those we missed last weekend....Hope you had fun!!!

Maybe that is part of the magic.......

Well - it looks like I'm going to be house hunting in Houston for Kristin. It looks like she is going to accept the offer from Boeing and work at NASA at the Johnson Space Center. She'll be in Houston at least 3-5 years so we're going to look for a house for her and Nick. Nick is still looking for a job post graduation, but they want to end up together.... and I'm fine with that...

Road Trip in the next few months to Houston!!!!
