We may be looking for another cruise line also - the prices are getting RIDICULOUS!
I was hoping for Alaska, like Mary, but we haven't done an Eastern. As soon as I looked at the prices, though, I think we're ready to try RCCL. We might look at Alaska for '09 with Princess, RCCL, or NCL too. I'm sure we could do Alaska for the same price as DCL Caribbean. And this is the first time I re-booked for the stateroom credit :confused3.

We saw you... at least I THINK it was Sunday... I lose track of what day it is... you were by the golf course...

I'm telling you, I STILL can't figure out why people run when they AREN'T being chased!!!!!

You would have been my hero if you would have stopped with a beer! :woohoo:

Well the 2009 ports are out and it looks like the Magic is staying in the Caribbean. Anyone up for a reunion cruise?

Looks like it is Tortula for the summer? Jim/Kevin how is the diving there (since I know that is a draw for you)?

I think I would have liked St. Croix but they aren't doing that over the summer.

Mark and I are still on the fence.

Diving is great in Tortula. We were just there. I would go back for the diving, but don't know anything about the island.

Yikes! Our usual Cat 6 for three is $5600 on the May 23 sailing to Tortola. On May 30, it jumps to $6900. Anyone for another cruise line? Sadly, we no longer have an on board booking credit, we let it go.

I think I posted not to many days ago that we thought DCL was about twice HA.

It's now getting close to TRIPLE! :sad2:

My new mantra. Alicia worked 8 hours last Saturday and Sunday, on her feet all day. And she didn't like it! In fact, she said "I don't want to work 8 hour shifts anymore". Ahem. More incentive to go to college. As Kevin says, then you get to sit on your behind all day.

Off to check prices for 2009, I'm sure Tortola would be a hit. Maybe if we start saving now...

ummmm - sorry to disappoint but I sat on my "bum" all day and "I don't like it either"....incentive to have a field job....???

EEEks - excitment vs prices.....these are high .... and I so love Disney to change to another cruise line...

Wait, I did, it was the Necton...

ok - back to reality.

We will book "on board" to get the credit when we take our Pre-Christmas Cruise, but realistically after the 2 week Panama Crossing, another $$$ cruise will keep me on the fence with Mark and Mary....of course, we can meet cha'll in Port before you sail.....not the same really...

One reason we opted for the May sailing was the cost difference, oh,yes and the canal....

My dad is so excited about DCL, I even suggested pricing out another cruise line, but he didn't want to. He's got the checkbook, I'm not arguing. On the other hand, he is spending my inheritance... :lmao:

Interesting addition on the RCCL page - I was just being curious on pricing...

Note: For North America reservations, a fuel supplement of $5.00 per day per person for the first two occupants of a stateroom (subject to a maximum of $140 per stateroom) will apply to all sailings departing on or after February 1, 2008. So, why don't they just raise the prices overall???

We are interested in Alaska - although the Scubas make a compelling reason to go with a land and not sea tour.....still, I have hear HAL is a good line...and I think you can use WDW points.

Will this do?

I "might" have considered an '09 cruise....if they were going to St Croix in the summer....and definitely Alaska. But since we're going to be in Tortola in 20 days (on Christmas Eve) then we won't need to pay DCL their higher $$$ to go there again.
Just have to keep waiting for Alaska and Hawaii.

Besides, 2009 is Jay's "land trip"......not that we know where.

Hey Mom... are you finished packing for your cruise yet?

Talk about stalking!! Oops...that's not a stalker!! My bad.

And no, I haven't even started packing. I did find a few things to wear and have hung them on the portable clothing rack.

We've got a room booked on the 7/18/09 cruise.... Have until Friday to make a decision......

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions......

Frances really wants to do some more snorkeling..... Tortola sounds fun....

I also just looked at 09 prices. Wow, May, June & July are way high. I looked at August 15, since school won't start until the very end of August. Those prices were much more realistic. We could get two regular inside cabins for $4,624.32 and one deluxe inside for $4376. Of course kids are older (one being an adult), but this is still higher than what I paid for May 06. We had deluxe inside for the four of us at $3,522. If we went this route, I would prefer the two rooms. Of course, I would love to have one with verandah and one inside, but the cost would be too much.

You could have come to Tortola with me this month!

If I remember correctly, we were on our way to CHURCH... I try not to do any product sampling there.

BTW... if you're in the neighborhood on the 15th, and not off cruising somewhere or running a marathon, we're having our usual party...
