Wow. Yes, there's a reason why they tell you to stay out of the water during a storm. But then, it could have been perfectly clear when they went down for their dive.

She goes tomorrow for more tests, and looks like she's going to have quite a road ahead of her. It's really making me crazy to be so far from home right now...

We had some major storms come through this afternoon. Jared and I put our suitcases in the car, and we made it across our creek, but when we got to the big wash that separates us from the town, the sheriffs had already placed barricades.
Jared is soooo mad at me! He wanted to leave earlier, but I wasn't ready to go yet...then it turned out when I said "Let's go" HE wasn't ready yet.
So we may or may not get out in the morning to catch our flight. If not, we'll just try again the next day if we can get seats. Not much I can do about it.

Dale left last Wednesday for Canada with the church youth group. I sure miss him already. They get back Sunday night around midnight.

Charley, Ashley and I just got back last night from the State Championship Swim Meet in Austin. Ashley had some good swims. She dropped 4 seconds on the 200 breast and placed 10th and then she dropped 3 seconds on the 100 breast and also placed 10th. Both of those times were AAA times and are pretty good. She is now faster than almost all of our 14 year old girls in the breast stroke.

We are traveling to the mountains on Wednesday. I have to go to Ruidoso for a work retreat and Charley and Ashley are going to come up and spend the night. Thursday is my birthday and that we we can go out to dinner up in the mountains before heading home.

We leave again on Tuesday (7/31) for the Southern Zone Swimming Championships in Houston. Our kids will be competing with other top swimmers from Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, West Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana and Kentucky. It should be a great meet and a lot of fun for our kids.

It has been hard keeping up with the thread with all the traveling and going to swim meets this summer. After next week, things should calm down a bit.
