Alas, the carpeting did not dry out and yes, in our previous planning and wishful thinking, we had hoped to replace the carpeting in a few years..

Looking past the boxes stacked in the entry way, furniture everywhere, and partially removed carpeting, My kitchen is clean and organized, the garage is cleaned out, organized awaiting the tile, and now to tackle the boxes of stuff that we salvaged out of the hall closet...:cool1

And... we debated this weekend if we should keep the fall WDW reservation, and with a warped sense of humor, it is a clear message from Above, "THOU SHALT NOT ENJOY DISNEY WITHOUT YOUR CHILDREN..."

So, as always, with a warped sense of humor, Be careful what you wish. hmmm, why do I have the "Into the Woods" soundtrack running through my mind... It might have to be a movie night!!!

At the risk of being Politically incorrect, or offering offense, can I venture that if we can have 10 commandments for driving we can add a few more for Disney...In fact mousematter had a few articles that would make good commandments for WDW, wish my memory was better....

1. Do take care of your family and that includes knowing when to take them to WDW and when to leave them in the loving care of supportive grandparents etc so that you can return refreshed and loving.

2. Do set a good example, do not push into line.

3. Do unto others, so honor thy reservations or cancel in time for others to enjoy, even when there is no penalty.

4. Do take care of your children, remember sunscreen, hats and other protective sun gear. Let them walk and enjoy the Parks.

5. Do unto others and remove the crying child from the theatre, resturant or show.

6. Teach your children good manners, by example, then the above commandment is not necessary.

7. Silence cell phones and beepers where appropriate.

8. Do not hog the pool chairs.

9. Assist a lost child/adult/teen when needed to find a cast member to assist.

10. Remember to reward cast members with comments .

That's 10 - feel free to edit....or flame me.....

Good List!!!! My additions (don't think they were covered in Mouse Matters) - some slightly tongue in cheek...

Thou shalt be a kid and wear your mouse ears, goofy hat, or duck hat - adult and child alike!!! :thumbsup2
Thou shalt not glare at an adult who wishes to have a photo op with the characters...
Thou shalt give tired and exhausted family members a chance to rest and recharge.
Thou shalt have a dole whip and a Mickey Mouse bar... not necessarily at the same time.

I woke up this morning with this song in my mind....

It was my favourite Beatle's song when I was a child....and how strangely appropro to my life now....anyone else want to sing today?

And a U-TOP to boot...

Pixie dust for all and esp. GaRRy.
Wishes for those on or dreaming of being on vacation....

I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade
He'd let us in, knows where we've been
In his octopus's garden in the shade

I'd ask my friends to come and see
An octopus's garden with me
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade

We would be warm below the storm
In our little hideaway beneath the waves
Resting our head on the sea bed
In an octopus's garden near a cave

We would sing and dance around
Because we know we can't be found
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden in the shade

We would shout and swim about
The coral that lies beneath the waves
(Lies beneath the ocean waves)
Oh what joy for every girl and boy
Knowing they're happy and they're safe
(Happy and they're safe)

We would be so happy you and me
No one there to tell us what to do
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden with you
In an octopus's garden with you
In an octopus's garden with you

That was the Beatles? I thought it was Raffi. ;)

OK Irene, - I'll sing along while I'm waiting for the tile delivery man to call me back... A Beatles two-fer... And a Disney tie-in - the submarines are back!!!

In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines

So we sailed up to the sun
Till we found the sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine

We all live in our yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in our yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

And our friends are all on board
Many more of them live next door
And the band begins to play

We all live in our yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in our yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

As we live a life of ease
Everyone of us has all we need
Sky of blue and sea of green
In our yellow submarine.

We all live in our yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in our yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

We all live in our yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in our yellow submarine,
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

That was the Beatles? I thought it was Raffi. ;)

It was a toss-up between Baby Beluga or Bananaphone, but keeping with the sea-theme by Raffi...

Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free.
Heaven above, and the sea below,
And a little white whale on the go.

Baby beluga, baby Beluga, is the water warm?
Is your mama home with you, so happy.

Way down yonder where the dolphins play,
Where they dive and splash all day,
The waves roll in and the waves roll out,
See the water squirting out of your spout.

Baby beluga, baby Beluga, sing your little song,
Sing for all your friends, we like to hear you.

When it's dark, you're home and fed,
Curl up snug in your water bed.
Moon is shining and the stars are out,
Good night, little whale, goodnight.

Baby beluga, baby Beluga, with tomorrow's sun,
Another day's begun, you'll soon be waking.

Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free.
Heaven above and the sea below,
And a little white whale on the go.
You're just a little white whale on the go.

OK - enough DIS'ing it's time to fix supper. The delivery man called back. The tile delivery is not coming tonight, the driver got backlogged. That's ok - John's not home to start installation anyway... I made the drivers night by ok-ing the delivery tomorrow morning.

Ooh... Friday karaoke... we haven't done THAT in a long time... here's my sea-worthy contribution... Buffett, of course!!!

There is a tale that the island people tell
Don't care if it is true 'cause I love it so well.
Jolly Mon sang for his supper every night
The people fed him well 'cause he treated them so right
OhJolly Mon sing
Oh make Orion ring

And they wanted him to sing on the islands near and far
He always found his way by Orion the lucky star
He'd tell them of their joys, he'd tell them of their woes
They'd love to see him come and hate to see him go
Oh Jolly Mon sing
Oh make the music ring

He was making his way home on a dark and stormy night
When he heard a cry for help, he saw a flashing light
When he reached the other boat and offered him a hand
They said, "Give us all your cargo." as they took
a pirate stand
Oh Jolly Mon sing
Oh give them everything

"Jolly Mon we know you - Sing your last song very well"
They tossed him in the ocean cause their hearts were
made in hell
Came along a dolphin, he said,"Jolly Mon Hello"
"I've always loved your singing - climb on board
and don't let go."
Oh Jolly Mon sing
Oh make the oceans ring

The night was filled with magic as they bid the sea goodbye
They swam into the heavens - they stayed up in the sky
And all the island people when they wish upon a star
See the dolphin and the Jolly Mon who tell them where
they are
Oh Jolly Mon sing
Oh make the heavens ring
Oh Jolly Mon sing
Oh make the magic ring

Happy Friday!!!!

We are book home from a couple of days at the Gaylord Palms. So close to WDW, but no visit from us.

The closest we got was running in Celebration this morning. Sharon actually got up at 6 am to check out of the hotel and head to Celebration for a 4 mile run.

She was awarded with coffee and a book by the lake.

Not much of a reward, but for her.....just going to Celebration is reward enough.

Got a call from Kevin this morning. He has been in AZ and Utah with John, taking pictures. We are heading out soon for Garcia's green chile, and then Kevin will be taking John to the airport. By all reports, it was a successful trip, many pictures taken.

Monica, your tile man is coming home!

The real question is....how much is all Kevin's and John's new equipment going to cost?

Since they have been comparing notes I'm sure someone will need something! :thumbsup2

That would be Kevin, I'm sure. I hope he remembers that we still owe taxes. Actually, I was thinking that this trip and his trip with you in August is going to cost him another girl's trip this year. I'm thinking Food & Wine in November. Hmmmmmm

:lmao: hmm, considering John already bought a new camera, lens, and tripod, I seriously hope he's done for awhile... We've got an unplanned remodel to take care of first...

Although, John did mention Kevin has been giving him advice on the tile installation....Who knows how much that advice will cost us...

Kevin, how many times did he tell you he loves his new D2X??? :rotfl2:

This comment just made me think of one of my favorite shots from the cruise:

Good Morning - this Sunday we are eating eggs, and soldiers with champange and reliving our dive yesterday - throught I would share. WOW – What a beautiful and spectacular dive. The skies were blue and the seas were 1-2 (mm – that is!). The sea was literally as flat as glass. We pulled out with a full boat and a newbie receiving her certification if she had a successful dive…

Flying fish escorted us to our site. The Capt’n slowed, nowhere near the dive site, as he had spotted a 10 foot manta ray, cruising near shore. We stayed with him for a while, until he got too close to shore.

Our first dive site was Bath and Tennis Club Reef, about 45-50 down, with vis around 60’. The dive was like diving in a huge aquarium, there were that many fish…to name a few, Queen angels, green and spotted moray, porcupine fish, schools of spade fish, a scorpion fish hiding amidst the gorgonians, parrotfish of all ages, yellow grunts,, and tiny, teeny fish to numerous to mention. Alas, no cleaner crabs. However, we happened upon a large loggerhead resting in the reef at the beginning of the dive, when surfacing we saw her – or her cousin again. Did I mention we were drift diving?

Our surface interval was as unique as you will ever have – again the Capt’n slowed. A LEATHERBACK was surfacing – oh my! We saw and heard this adult surface and swim around the boat. Her head was completely out of the water and the size of a 5 gallon bucket. Her eyes were clear and open, and I bet she thought that she could get the silly humans to do tricks. Well, she did. She circled the boat and we circled her. She surfaced clearly about 5-7 times. A camera, does anybody have a camera –only about 6 underwater ones on board. Pity! So the mate dropped off and snorkeled with her. Now we were watching her and his hand signals…there she is!

The dive briefing came along with spotted dolphins. This day the surface was as exciting as the deep. The second dive was off The Trench. Due to the current we headed the opposite of the dive plan, and were again treated to a plethora of fish. Puffers were everywhere, including inside barrel sponges. Moray eels again, including a tiny small 8 inch spotted eel. While turning to watch two young girls surface with their father a teenage turtle almost ran into me….

A few pictures will help. um, jealous guys????

Can life get any better - a U-TOP.

PDFG - wish you were here....

Wow, sounds great Irene! Was that off Boca Raton? Did the dolphins stick around when you guys were in the water?

This Food & Wine idea is getting more serious. Is anybody planning a trip to WDW the week before Halloween?

Slow weekend on the DIS... it's summertime!!!! I spent all day today organizing a charity golf tourney for one of our employees... his son suffered a brachial plexus injury at birth... he's 6 months old now, and has already had a ton of surgeries, with lots more to follow...

We raised over $6K for him (AFTER expenses)... 94 golfers... which matched the 94 degree temps... NO ONE in their right mind plays golf on a June afternoon in Florida... its great that some people will do anything to help a kid!!!!! It was awesome!!!! (And I hate that word... but it really was!)

So now, with the new work week just 11 hours away, I'm ready for some sleep!!!!!!!!

Irene... looks like you had a great dive!

Monica & Diana... who's man is going to cost who more $$????

WDW in October... we haven't been in over a year... by Oct, it might actually be time to head back!!!
