You're right OM, no DVC APs unless they live in your household. We got the Hilton on Priceline for about $70 a night our last trip, then moved over to DVC on Sunday. It's nice, but parking there was a pain (Holiday parties) and we didn't try the shuttle service because we had a car. It is an easy walk to DTD, which is nice.
Thank you Karen and Diana. My Aunt is planning on staying 6 days and 5 nights. I don't mind paying for her with my points, she and I are very close. Our kids are really close in age as well and she is a great Aunt(only 3 years older than me)

Diana, what were the requirements you put in to get the Hilton to show up on Priceline?

Karen-OT but thanks for the formula coupon, I will have to make a note to use it before it expires.

Hi all. Just got home from a very lonnnng swim meet. Ashley had the Border Swimming Championship meet this week, which is the climax of the short course season. They swam preliminaries in the mornings and then finals (top 8 swimmers advancing) in the evening. Well yesterday, the morning session went from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and we had to be back for warmup at 5:00. So, we didn't even get to come home, just stayed and went out to eat, etc. Both last night and tonight we did not get home until 9:45 p.m. She made finals in all 6 events she swam over two days. Yesterday, she came in 2nd in the 50 back, 1st in 100 Breast and 5 in the 200 IM. She made the cut for the state championship swim meet in the 100 breast. Today she swam the 50 fly, 50 breast and 200 breast. Got 5th in the 50 fly, and won both the 50 and 200 breast. She missed the cut on the 50 breast by 4/10ths of a second. However, she did make the cut on the 200 breast by dropping 5 seconds off of her best time. Plus her medley relay made the cut and they will swim that at State also.

I am really proud of her, but now I have to figure out how to get to Austin on March 8 for the swim meet, which doesn't end until Sunday, March 11 and we fly to WDW on Monday March 12. Lots of work to do to get it all figured out. I think she may be done by Saturday, but if the relay swims, she has to be there on Sunday.

Well, I am beat and have to get up early tomorro, so night all,

Congrats Ashley, way to go!!!! Pam you are such a extra dedicated mom to put in so much time with all the meets. It seem everytime I read a post from you Ahsley had a meet and is doing great.

DH coaching DS' basketball team and I find it hard enough getting the other three kids and myself to the games.

Good Morning All!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM ----:bday: :bday: :bday:

GaRRy - It was prop. a good thing your schedule changed...Diving was a bust....seas were 4 feet plus and even the old timers like Sam did not want to dive, so we cancelled the weekend. Perhaps another time.

Meanwhile, we drove up to Disney Vero Beach Resort and met the Scuba's for a relazing day watching the waves - they were green...(icky) and enjoying the breeze (wrapped in blankets).

Dinner was perfect at Sonya's - good food, good times, good friends...

:disrocks:

DVBR is very low key - the Disney Magic is there, from the potted plants and topieries at the entrance, the themed resort, the cast - and the buildings and art.

We missed fireside tales at the fire pit 'cause we were eating and eating and eating.....oh yes, some wine...but in moderationd due to the drive home....

That was the only sad part, the drive home...

Mark and Mary - Hawaii looks great...Glad you are having a great time...
Ashley - Congrats :cheer2:

Snow, snow???? It's cold, wet and white, right?

My aunt and her DH, DS-3, DS-2, would like to go to WDW in May. I told her I would check around(disboards) and let her know what if any good deals there are out there. I thought I would start here first, I have DVC but we use most of our 07 points for the member cruise so I have a few of those left and I guess I could borrow from 08? She also has a HiltonHonors Amex so she would like to stay there a earn more points she can use at the beach later this year. What all do you guys suggest? Go the DVC route or pay for the Hilton?

Second question, since we can get AP's through DVC is it cheaper to do that or get the (#)day passes. Can she park hop with the AP or does she have to get hopper passes for that? I hope I am making some kind of sense here, we have never done the parks yet so I am in the dark about the whole park thing(at least I experience the cruising part).

Thanks for any input.

As a frequent park guest, I thought you would be expecting a reply but I am stumped....

When she starts planning on parks, I'll chime in again..

Sam has placed a deposit on our 2007 cruise....

Any guesses....

Kevin - you still lurking??????:rotfl: :rotfl:

Guess, go ahead, try......:goodvibes

Weekend is over - back to work and chores and daily routine....

Sunday was a continuation of our mini-vacation - After church, we took Mother to lunch at Hops, one of her favourites, and completed some shopping errands.

Then we strolled the street painting festival in Lake Worth and stopped by the Pub, ran into friends, stayed for a few brews, ran into other friends, strolled some more, bought the most unusal orchid for the collection...

Ahh......we also laughed at the waves......

See, life is not always diving...(but next weekend???)

Right now I see :laundy: in the future...

Congrats, Ashley!!! :cool1:

Happy Birthday, Jim! party:

One more weekend of basketball season! :cheer2: Mike usually doesn't play spring sports, and Maggie decided not to play volleyball! Our crazy weekends are almost over!!! :woohoo:

Although, Since we have all of this free time on the weekends. , Maggie has announced the dreaded "C" word - camping. We took the kids once while we lived in Canada, eons ago - I guess I have not educated her well enough on benefits of a hotel room - cable TV, room service, and hot showers!!!

The Livestock show and rodeo starts tomorrow - I am so thankful we do not have cable and the Disney channel - one of the most sought after tickets is Hannah Montana :confused3 - George Strait is yet again opening and ZZ top is closing - Now, I'd actually stay past the rodeo for their concerts!

Good morning everyone!

Congrats to Ashley!

Happy Birthday to Jim!

Lisa & Irene - thanks for the drawing. How cute!

Up early for our drive into Waikiki. We're doing the Home Of The Brave tour today!
