My countdown timer says we're in the single digits. Not dancing....I haven't even thought about packing.

Heading out for chicken-comb shot #4 of 5...and then to get the oil changed and a car wash for the Equinox. That's the one my parents will drive while they're here. Then to the airport to get them.
I wonder who the idiot was who scheduled them to come in at rush hour??? :confused3 :guilty:

Can you hear that noise? It's me.....screaming at the top of my lungs about ready to lose my sanity.

I was keeping track of auditions for KT. There was one coming up January 9/10/11th for Kabuki Japanese Theater. She's done two Kabuki classes with the woman who is going to direct this upcoming play. So I have it in my calendar, I've been reminding her that it's after the 1st of the year.

Today (December FIFTEENTH) I get a flyer from the theater announcing that auditions for Kabuki are December 12/13/14. Or should I say they WERE on the 12/13/14!!!!

Ok, So I'm playing obnoxious stage mom. We know this director well. She directed Pooh and Scrooge. Her dd is good friends with KT (KT has spent time at the lake with them) I just left a desperate message on her cell phone to see if there is ANYTHING that can be done. After all, it's not MY fault we missed audtions.

At least I know that she KNOWS KT and her ability with Kabuki (last Kabuki acting camp she had the lead role)

Knowing that Kabuki auditions were coming up is what tempered her disappointment in not getting into Oz.

Keep your fingers crossed. pdfKT. :)

Virgil, Your pixiedust must carry some weight.
Director called. She did say she was VERY VERY surprised when auditions were over that KT hadn't come to them. (guess she really DOES know KT)

Anyway, LUCKILY she is having an unplanned second callback tonight to decide between two girls. KT is now invited to that. The director said, jokingly, "this is going to make my choice hard now!" So off we go for a 6:00 "audition." I guess it's que sera, sera... :)
Off to print a resume and a picture. :)

Yippee!!

Glad she's getting the chance to audition!!! I have to admit, I had to do a quick google of Kabuki theatre - will this be puppets or acting?

acting. complete with face makeup.

Here's a picture of her from her acting camp this summer.
Oh yeah...and Nick too. (I think they did their OWN makeup---designing it AND applying it)

Great news that KT got to audition. Here's hoping it went well!

So how did KT's audition go?

from KT's POV it went well. She banished me from the room. Said she'd do better without me there. Awwww, my baby is growing up.

We'll find out Monday what the verdict is.

If she gets in, 2-3 days a week KT will have rehearsal from 5:30-7:30 downtown, while Nick will have rehearsal from 7-9 on the far north west side of town. ACK! But it's doable, just a LOT of driving. I didn't realize his rehearsals would be there---got the email when we got home announcing the rehearsal space. It's a Children's Hospital production, and since Children's is downtown I ASSUMED the rehearsals would be around there too. You know what happens when you assume.....

And, to prove I am not nuts....
the head of the theater (who played Scrooge last year) told me it's TRUE....the auditions WERE supposed to be Jan 9-11. But they changed them awhile back and figured no one would have written down the old information! HA! :)

GOOD LUCK, KT!

A totally unexpected T.O.P. with KT, who invented the phrase "U-T.O.P." !!

pixiedust: :tinker: pdfg and KT

Long day......... Mom and Dad made it in okay, and loved what I'd done with the apartment. They're all settled in over there now. Dad said he may stay :scared1: forever.

We tried out a new restaurant tonight, #1 Brothers Pizza. These guys sound like they just got off the boat from the old country. And the food was great!

I tried to post from the airport, but I wasn't logged in, think I need to re-sync the Palm. Anyway, it was kind of exciting.....

I got there early, so I was looking at all the new stores we have in our airport since they remodeled. I was in the record store...cd's, videos, whatever.....and a Phoenix police officer came in with a man who looked to be about my age...average looking-Joe.
They asked the guy what he had in the purple shopping bag he was carrying. He said he had some stuff that he'd brought from home. The store manager said "I have video of you putting something in the bag". And the guy still said it was his from home. The cop asked to see what was in the bag, and the guy pulled out a set of headphones, still in a package. The cop asked if he had a receipt for them, and the guy said no. The manager said "We have you on tape putting that in your bag".....again....so the guy hands them to the manager, and says "Here, they're yours". The cop said "Did you take those?" and the guy said "Yes, but I'm giving them back". The cop said "That's shoplifting, and you're under arrest. Put your hands behind your back." And he put handcuffs on him. I was standing there, dumbfounded. I've never seen anyone get arrested before. The guy looked straight at me, and I swear, he looked so sad, I almost felt bad for the idiot. A $10 pair of headphones.
The cop asked where the guy was from, and he said "Phoenix. I have a 3:30 plane to catch." and the cop said "Not today." And he read him his rights. I finally walked away at that point. I know it seems stupid, but I just stood there watching.....it was like television, only live. Interesting, to say the least.

And just look at what you would have missed if you were able to post from the airport. There is a whole world outside of DIS. :lmao:
