Morning All - We had a great toasting party last night for the immediate neighbors...not a bash like Kiki....The rain stopped long enough to enjoy the patio fire.....Food was abundent, as was champagne and beer - juice for the kids.

Now it is time to enter the info for the pre-Christmas cruise and wrap the remaining presents......

So what was the end result of your prepared foods dilemma?

OK - I've been lazy long enough studying so long it feels weird to DIS without feeling guilty and to read a book!!! I feel like I should be studying...

Have my pile of books from the library:

1st up - Catherine Coulter - Born to Be Wild
then, the 3rd book in Nora Roberts' Vampire Trilogy (I listened to the first two during my trips up to Dallas in November and December)
And finally - Diana Galbadon's Outlander series...

As soon as the kids go back to school and I can reclaim the Netflix queue - then I'll switch to Season 5 of Alias, Season 5 of 24, and Season 7 of West Wing... :woohoo:

Got to run, the kids are chomping at the bit - we're off to John's aunts traditional Christmas Brunch open house - yum!!! She always puts on quite a feast!!!

Hey, look what we found hanging around the Magic Kingdom!!!

And the "Smoothie family" on POC

Mary, I'm sending you hard copies of these. Do you want me to email all of the pictures from that night?

They turned out great. Thanks Karen. Yes to the e-mail. We didn't take many and what we did didn't come out that well.

Now we have to tell everyone the rest of the story. We head into the Magic Kingdom and there is Mary Poppins, Burt, and the Penquins. We get in line and the handler says Mary and Burt will be leaving in a few minutes. We ask if the penquins are staying since that is who we wanted. He said yes and we cheered "we want the penquins". Gave us a strange look and walked away. We even tried to let the little girl behind us go first as when we got near the front Mary and Burt were still there but then they left. We were very happy with the penquins!

Yup. True story. It was sort of along the lines of "we want the redhead" but with penguins instead.

Mary, what's easier? Emailing you or mailing a CD? Both the same for me, so whatever you want. :)

A CD would be great if you can do that.

BTW this was right after that dinner you don't remember having together. :lmao:

'tis true. We could have cared less about Mary Poppins and Burt. From the get go we were in line for the penguins! :) Would it have been rude, had Mary and Burt still been there, to ask them to step out of the picture???

Step away from the penguins and no one gets hurt!!! :lmao:

Oh no... now that wasn't one of THOSE nights, was it?????

Phew... finally sitting down after my most-of-the-day bake-a-thon. (And I HATE to bake...) Needed peanut butter cookies and brownies for tomorrow's church youth group Christmas party... needed 7 dozen other cookies for a cookie swap on Monday night. Once I got started, I figured seeing as the kitchen was already a mess, I'd bake the one thing that I make every Christmas, my cherry-chocolate fruit bread... 9 mini-loaves (3 batches) of it. I also needed to bake some goodies to send up to NC to the crew that's building my bosses boat (he's cooking them Christmas dinner this week)... so those guys will get a little bit of everything that I made today. Did I tell you that I hate to bake.

I was going to finally sit down and write Christmas cards tonight... but the kids got invited out with the neighbors ... so its a good night to get my shopping finished... I've never been so late. Ray is working a huge trade show in Orlando, so I've got a few hours to finish up... its just him that I have left to buy for anyway. Guess the Christmas cards will wait til tomorrow night... I'm running out of time!!!

Done. All done with Christmas shopping. Well, unless you count the Williams Sonoma peppermint bark for Mike that I need to pick up when we go see Santa. Yes, it's been decided I'll make the trek to Cleveland even though the REAL Santa won't be there this year. (see here for backstory: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=15991071&postcount=28187 )

Traffic today was nasty. Parking lots were crammed. But amazingly, I never stood in a checkout line for more than 3 minutes. My fastest was actually walking RIGHT UP to the cashier with no wait. Better staffing this year or more people at the mall but less buying? Hmmmm.

Saw a kitten today at Petsmart. TOO beautiful. It had the most unique markings on it that I've ever seen. Tempted. But it was "on hold" until tomorrow night. Probably a bad idea to get another kitten. But this one was so beautiful. Yes, I will be the little old lady with 75 cats! :earseek:

Oh, and get this.....as busy as everything was in this huge shopping area (mall on one side of the street, strip mall with EVERYTHING you could ever want on the other) I'm waiting to turn left out of a row in a parking lot and who turns into the row? Mike's sister! We swung around and said hi. I wanted to hum "It's a Small World" but I refrained. In all the craziness there was one person we knew! :)

And then there was that kitten. Did I mention how beautiful he was???

We saw all the traffic at the malls too. We saw it from I-4 as we were driving to meet the Tinks. Sharon and I wondered who, in their right minds, would go to the mall on a day like that? Guess we now know a few of them! :lmao:

We meet up with the Tinks last night at the House of Blues. Had a great time. Had dinner and then walked down to DMP for ice cream. I'm sure Kevin will post a picture of the kids pounding back an Earthquake. We stopped at the new Irish Pub we have all heard so much about for a little night cap. It was a great night to sit outside and enjoy a tall cold one.

The day went to quickly. Walking around Disney really makes me want to go on a cruise!

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Sunday!

Looks like another day of staying inside and in bed. I was up most of the night with a nasty cough. I really don't feel too bad except when I'm coughing. Yuck! Sounds like you guys had fun last night - can't wait to see the pictures.

Yup. That's us. It's not typical though. Had we not just been gone for 2 1/2 weeks, I'd have been more on schedule. :)

Plus there were a few gift cards I needed and their "shipping" charges for buying them online were RIDICULOUS!!! I'm not paying $6.50 to have a $25 gift card shipped!!! :earseek:

Besides, it wasn't too bad. We left here about 1:30. Got there around 2:30 (headed to Dayton b/c everything is in one place) and we were done with everything (including dinner) by 6.

Prayers and pixiedust that you kick this thing quickly. Don't let it go too long. Friend of ours was sick like this for 10 days and finally went to the doc. He ended up with steriods, antibiotics and an inhaler! :earseek:

If that kitten is still there tonight, I have a feeling it will have a new home tomorrow......with a bunch of MOUSE people!::yes:: And I wouldn't blame you, I'd do it too.

BESIDES....you already have one kitty, what's one more??????

Tried to post last night after my folks went back over to the apartment, but the Boards were down.

We took Megan to the outlet mall and bought her some cruise clothes. I about died laughing. The cashier hands me my receipt ($300) and says "Wow...you saved $120!!" Ummm.....nuh unh.....I SPENT $300! I would have SAVED money if I'd stayed home!!

Merry Christmas AND Happy Birthday, Megan!!

There were a ton of people out there, but it wasn't the worst I'd ever seen.

Still, by the time we got home, I was beat and my knee was killing me. ANd like Mary, I seem to have picked up a bug.
GET BETTER MARY!!!!!

Oh, don't tempt me.

Every time we've had one cat, and then have gotten another, the first cat has "changed." Either became more territorial, or more solitary, or more...shall we say 'unwilling to poop in the correct place.'

I told the kids if Mowana tragically and unexpectedly died before Monday morning, I'd get the cat. :lmao:
