Teamwork....I had to have the Olives and Almonds, but they come with sausage...Oh well, Sam will eat it....The first time, I had a nice server and she gave me extra olives... yummy- smack lips....I confess, unless you are crazy about olives and nuts, this is a little pricey for what you get. One year, Spain sold little dishes of nuts for 50 cents, olives too, I think....that was better....No wine at this booth....I know, letting you all down with the wine reviews. Like I said it was still warm....Beer and champagne weather.

Spain
A Taste of Spain: Spanish Olives, Marcane Almonds and Chorizo
Papas Con Chorizo (Potoatoes with Spicy Sausage)
Albondigas (Spanish Pork and Chicken Meatball)

Nora Albarino
Condessa de Leganza Crianza
Montecillo Crianza

Happy Tuesday!

We are getting closer and closer to our cruise. Close enough that I decided I would take tomorrow off to clean the house before we leave. So today is my last day of work. Yeah!

I also came to a decision last night that I'm going to cancel one of my excursions. A whole group of us have booked the banana boat. The ladies on one boat and the guys on the next one. However I'm realizing my true mortality and the fact that I'm just a little too old for the banana boat. Mark and I do have the seahorse snorkel excursion booked for 2 pm on our first CC day and I'm looking forward to that.

Maybe others will chime in, but I never found the banana boat very taxing. We have done it 2 or 3 times and each time we would get some spray in our faces, but no death grip of fear.

But that is only what I remember. Sharon may have a different view.

Yes but Jim you are in much better shape than I am. You are very fit. I've had some back problems over the last couple of years. Nothing major but also nothing I want to play with. KWIM?

Good morning all!!

Monica,

Houston's rain has been all over the national news - glad to see y'all will finally start drying out. Splashing in the rain with your daughter - those are the sweet moments in life, aren't they?!! :cloud9:

Mary,

:yay: So excited for you!! And, I think it's a wise decision to stay off the banana boat - especially with any kind of back problems. Why take the chance? Enjoy your last day at work, knowing all the fun that's just a few days away!!! :woohoo:

Hi all, I just wanted to thank you for the prayers and PD over the last 18 months. My dad died this afternoon. My mom was at his side. I was enroute home from New Orleans (sorry meant to post from there....it was a boring meeting - and boy does NO have a long way to go).

Virgil

Virgil,

So sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Deb

Good morning all!

It's raining here in GA. We're getting the mess that Monica had yesterday. My parents are driving up today so they'll have a wet drive.

I'm starting to get nervous about the '08 dates. There were some threads from TAs saying that their brochures only list dates through April '08. I just hope that whatever "special" thing they have planned for summer '08 is out of Port Canaveral or we probably won't be cruising. I'm bummed. I hope DCL surprises me!

Mary, glad you're getting to take an extra day off of work. It's always nice to come home to a clean house.

Ang

Virgil,

SO sorry to hear about your father. Our prayers are with you and your family right now.

Stacey -- have you gotten a response on your litho. If not, I would be interested. Send me a PM

Virgil, so sorry to hear your news. Your family will be in our prayers too.

Monica, did you get married when you were 12? Such a baby face! Gorgeous gown!

Irene, we would have been all over that Indian booth. That's a new one, isn't it?

We may have to consider back to back Wonder cruises for a week if the Magic is off somewhere else. I like the Wonder!

So, did everyone have an article in their local paper about Disney changing it's kids meals? They're going to be healthy, and have to be under certain percentages for fat and sugar. I can just see the threads now about how junior can't find anything to eat at WDW! It seems like McDonalds and chicken fingers could be on the chopping block.

Well, just got caught up reading everyone's posts. Things here have been so chaotic.

Ashley had another 3 day swim meet. Unfortunately, she did not do near as well as she did the one 2 weeks ago. She placed well, but all of her times increased. Thank goodness she qualified for the All-Stars at the first meet, because she would not have made it based on her times this weekend. It was an exhausting weekend I think for both of us. Friday night we did not get home until 10:00 and then we were back there Saturday am. at 6:45, finished at 1:30 then went straight to a High School Marching Band Competition and got home at 5:00, back at the pool on Sunday morning at 6:45 a.m. and finished about 1. I was so glad to get home.

She did do the 500 freestyle at this meet as her very last event and did okay. Freestyle is not her thing. That was 20 laps in the pool and she did it in 6 minute and 40 seconds. SHe did that after she had already swam a 50 fly, 100 fly, 100 breast, and a 50 back. I think I probably would have drowned in the pool

I agree. It isn't worth it anymore. Besides, I hate being over-booked at CC. We canceled our cabana massages (much to someone else's delight, I'm sure!) so that we could just do the Seahorse Snorkel in the morning, and simply "chill" in the afternoon.

Sorry sorry to hear about your fathers passing Virgil. Our condolences for the family! :grouphug:

I was thinking about back-to-back Wonder cruises too. To get the best rates, should I move my ressie to a back-to-back Wonder when the rates are released or just wait it out for the Magic? I remember how the prices of our cruise jumped significantly within a couple of months. Does that happen on the Wonder too?

I heard the report about the Disney meals on the radio earlier. I'm happy to have healthier choices - given the choice my kids would go for the junk but if all there is is healthier food, they will eat it.

Virgil - my sympathy and thoughts are with you and your family. We know exactly what you're going through. Augie just lost his dad on the 4th of this month. There are no words that really work, you just have to rely on the happy times that you shared. That's what helps us get through everything. :grouphug:

This is the special host country this year, along with Peru, but Peru's booth was only in place for limited weekends. They had art exhibits, food and coffee offerings as well as limited arts and crafts.

As for the food --- I tried the Meze - perhaps the best value in the world, you had all three offerings, and the vine leaves. Verdict on Meze - yummy. Vine leaves - ok, but suggest going to another booth.

I also tried the red wine, Sam the white - a nice table variety. We had the upper class offerings at the Party for the Senses.....

Turkey
Assorted Meze - Turkish appetizer - Circasian chicken, red lentil kofta, eggplant salad
Vine Leaves Stuffed with Rice
Sekerpare - sweet round in syrup with hazelnuts
Kavaklidere Cankaya White
Kavaklidere Yakut Red

Stay tuned to tomorrow's Mouse Matters for a pediatrician's insight on this news!! :)
