Sorry, Jim, it WILL happen eventually!

Yeah...she may not get very tall, but she WILL grow some more. And....she'll turn into a young lady soon. I KNOW Jim's looking forward to that!! ;)

I got my plane tickets. I'll leave here next Monday, the 7th, and come home on the 17th. Just wish it were going to be cooler there. Not with their humidity, it won't.

U-T.O.P. !

Maria, prayers for your father-in-law...and sending pixie dust. :tink:

Dad's surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, August 8th. I'll be flying up there on Monday the 7th, returning on Thursday the 17th.

Hi Stacey,

Thanks for the well wishes. What about your dad, what's going on? I think I missed that one.

Hi all!

Update on the Galle family from the church website: (my edits in parenthesis)

Cathy (mom) is still in quite a bit of pain. Her surgery was postponed
until Tuesday so that a specialist can be a part of the team.
The surgery will be to remove blood clots from her lungs. Cathy
continues to ask that we pray rosaries and have masses said for Gary and the girls as well as for her whole family. It means so much to Cathy to have us
all praying, so keep it up!! Cathy is still quite tired and does need
her rest.

Stephanie (11) is doing very well today. She is eating very well today, a good breakfast and an extra big lunch!! She still has the NG tube, but
they will likely remove that if she continues to eat well. She was making
good eye contact today, but not asking questions or conversing at this
point. Probably on Tuesday, she will be moved to Santa Rosa Children's
hospital to work with a pediatric neurologist to start therapy.

Elizabeth (7) is doing well at friend's home. She has been to visit Cathy and Stephanie today and is drawing lots of pictures for their rooms. She will be starting kindergarten in two weeks and is proud to be sporting her bright pink cast. She will start attending a bereavement support group for children probably this week. Last night, Elizabeth went to Mass with the Galles and had a stuffed bunny blessed by the archbishop!!! Afterwards, she enjoyed a
night of family fun with her cousins and Grandma Gigi.

(It sounds like the Galle family is blessed by all of the prayers, good thoughts and pixie dust - Thanks!!! )

20 some posts to catch up on - we were a bit more chatty tonight... :rotfl2:

Maria, I'm sorry to hear about your father-in-law - he's (and your family) in our prayers.

Stacey, Good to hear your dad got his surgery scheduled - it's tough to wait once your mind is made up.

My Dad had prostate cancer. He had surgery and treatments for it several years ago. Now they've learned that the cancer is back. So more surgery, but hopefully he won't have to have any more treatments after that.
I'm going up to help out and keep Mom sane. Well.....as much as humanly possible.

OK that was totally unexpected! :lmao: Logged on and saw it was at 48,997 so i posted that I couldn't resist. I guess it is easier to get a milestone when you don't try.

And Congats on another milestone Mary - very 9:15 am - could not have played if I wanted to yesterday!!!!

:tinker:Good morning cruisers :tinker:

Happy Tuesday!

I agree with Stacey that there will be a big turn out for 50,000. It won't come as fast as some of the other milestones, but I bet once DCL announces the 2008 dates we'll pick up quickly again.

Monica - thanks for the update. Continued prayers coming. Same for Augie's Dad, Stacey's Dad, and Virgil's Dad.

Okay -- I have you both beat. I just turned 45 and I still have them!!!!

Okay -- just got caught up reading all the posts I have missed in the last week.

Stacey -- Prayers for your dad and for you traveling to be with him and your mom.

Glad everyone's kids are back home safely.

Things have been quite busy here. My mom flew in for a few days on Sunday. My dad has been offered a job near Seville, Spain (Huelva) which is actually right along the coast near Portugal. He flew over there to check things out on Sunday, and he didn't want my mom home alone. We are anxious to hear from him, but they have offered him a fantastic package to take this job over there for at least a year. Now we are trying to figure out a way to get over there for a visit while they are going to be there. I have never been anywhere in Europe and I think it would be a great experience for the kids. That might sink any ideas we have of going on a cruise again in 2008, depending on where Dale gets accepted to go to College. Maybe I will win the lottery and not have to worry about money.

Will try to do a better job of keeping up this week.

Hi Pam! Good to "see" you! I love it when the gang's all here.

Getting ready to head out for the MRI on my knee. When it rains, it pours. But that's okay, I like rain.

Got Jordan registered at school yesterday, got her locker and books. Jared goes tomorrow. Seems funny that school is starting already.

I'll have the Treo with me at Mom's, but I won't stand a chance at the next milestone. It's just too slow to help a good pirate!

Stacey -- are you getting rain like we are. It is pouring here. we have had more rain in 3 weeks than I think all year. Major flooding in the desert lowland. They even cancelled band practice at the high school today because of the rain.

Got Dale registered yesterday and Ashley goes on Thursday. Can't decide if I am excited or not about them going back to school. Went and did school shopping on Saturday. Wow, spent a lot of money and still have a few things to do.

Me - never had them - ever - ever.

Believe that - and I have some fast passes to sell you.

jUST NOTICED A u-top

BELATED pixie dust for everybody - Vigil's Dad, Stacey's Pappy, Maria's FIL, Sams Sis, the Galle Family, all those facing flooding, and heat waves, and the path of Chris.....

OK, thank goodness for the pool safety Pediascribe that Dr. Mike just put up.

Almost horrible thing just happened at the pool. The kids have a friend over. He's a decent sized kid....probably 120 pounds (double Nick)
They are playing nicely and all of a sudden he goes down the inflatable slide.....but instead of SLIDING....he jumps. Well, the slide is inflatable, and 120 pounds coming down on it over the concrete.....well, the air squishes out and bone meets concrete. (I know, b/c my sized body can't do the slide without hitting the concrete a little) Well, this was MORE than a little. He WHACKED it. Then fell in the pool, took a couple of strokes and then went face down in the water. And didn't move. I yelled to KT....GO IN AND GET THE PHONE. (I have my cell phone on me, but it'd be easier to have the home phone) I run to the ladder and grab his arm, but am thinking "God is gonna have to give me strength to get this kid out of the pool b/c no way I can do it on my own." Just then he looks up but is completely disoriented. I'm yelling at him "JOSH, GRAB MY HAND" Finally he grabs it and I help him up the ladder (not knowing at first if he could even WALK!!!) (sigh) I led him over to the lounger and he sat there somewhat dazed and like the breath was knocked out of him. Finally...15 minutes later and he's back in the pool A bit more reserved and quiet, but swimming around and seems ok. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the kid who freaks me out as it is b/c he'll knock on the door and I'll go around the corner and he has his face pressed against the side light looking into the house. Just creepy to me. Plus he's double my kids weight and athletic and he's always challenging the kids to games and then tromping them. Nick is always asking for him to come over, and finally today I broke down and said Ok, after acting classes, ONE HOUR in the pool. (sigh)

Okay guys, we have had way too much rain here in El Paso today. It has been raining alot the last few weeks, but we have had 9" today here on the westside and it has started raining harder again.

We closed the college at noon today and it took me over 1 1/2 hours to get home. Interstate 10 was closed and I had to go side streets etc. for 0ver 20 miles to get home. Just posted on the news that they have closed all freeways into El Paso.
We haven't had rain like this in over 50 years. We are about a mile from the Rio Grande River and they are projecting that it will break the levee's between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. tonight. If the levee's break, we will definitely be flooded. We have bags packed and ready to evacuate the house tonight if needed. Will post tomorrow after this storm has passed.
