OK, thank goodness for the pool safety Pediascribe that Dr. Mike just put up.
Almost horrible thing just happened at the pool. The kids have a friend over. He's a decent sized kid....probably 120 pounds (double Nick)
They are playing nicely and all of a sudden he goes down the inflatable slide.....but instead of SLIDING....he jumps. Well, the slide is inflatable, and 120 pounds coming down on it over the concrete.....well, the air squishes out and bone meets concrete. (I know, b/c my sized body can't do the slide without hitting the concrete a little) Well, this was MORE than a little. He WHACKED it. Then fell in the pool, took a couple of strokes and then went face down in the water. And didn't move. I yelled to KT....GO IN AND GET THE PHONE. (I have my cell phone on me, but it'd be easier to have the home phone) I run to the ladder and grab his arm, but am thinking "God is gonna have to give me strength to get this kid out of the pool b/c no way I can do it on my own." Just then he looks up but is completely disoriented. I'm yelling at him "JOSH, GRAB MY HAND" Finally he grabs it and I help him up the ladder (not knowing at first if he could even WALK!!!) (sigh) I led him over to the lounger and he sat there somewhat dazed and like the breath was knocked out of him. Finally...15 minutes later and he's back in the pool A bit more reserved and quiet, but swimming around and seems ok. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the kid who freaks me out as it is b/c he'll knock on the door and I'll go around the corner and he has his face pressed against the side light looking into the house. Just creepy to me. Plus he's double my kids weight and athletic and he's always challenging the kids to games and then tromping them.

Nick is always asking for him to come over, and finally today I broke down and said Ok, after acting classes, ONE HOUR in the pool. (sigh)
