Ya know, you're NOT helping with my 101 reasons NOT to renew our AP's (all of them are $$...$$...$$... you get the picture) ... I'm trying to go a year without them... they expired on 5/1... not sure I'll make it with *desparate* people like you who NEED a park buddy...

Aw, come on, Kiki! By fall 2007, you will need the break! Think of it as a prolonged DIS meet. At least a couple of days? Maybe you too, Sharon and Irene?

That is the great thing about DVC - something for everyone. I don't care for the beds at OKW - way too high for me. I really do like the resort as a whole.

We don't care for VWL because of a bad experience there. See others love it and it is our least favorite.

We love Boardwalk even with its faults. Yes the hallways are long and we've had a room at the very very end (but it was the best view we ever had). Yes the clown is a little scary but we aren't pool people.

We've only stayed at Beach Club once and it was for one night after the December cruise. We were so beat we begged them for any room they had open when we got there and it was a smoking room. The room itself was fine and I would stay there again.

We've never stayed at SSR but toured it at Member Homecoming and it seems nice. I would try that some day.

We've stayed at Vero only for one night but really liked it. Will definately have to go back.

Never tried Hilton Head but have heard wonderful things about it from friends and definately want to try it some day.

I knew I forgot one! Hilton Head. Has anyone been there? I hear it's wonderful.

You made my point, we're just unlucky at BWV, we even gave it a second shot. Though I know 99% of the people that stay there have a wonderful time. Even my brother and his family, who have never stayed anywhere that nice, were not impressed because of the problems we had. Maybe we shouldn't have spent two nights a AKL first, the Deluxe resorts tend to spoil you. I see you had our problem at VWL. It just happens.

By Fall of 07, my 1-year moratorium on AP's will be over... I'm game! Besides, its football season, so Ray and the kids will be tied up... what better time for a Mom-trip!!!!!

I'll be doing a 'girls' cruise' Nov. 11, 2007. Neither of my DDs have been to WDW and probably could be persuaded.

I have it on pretty good authority that something new will be showing up on the DIS on July 5th. It's about the MOUSE and that's all that MATTERS! Look for it.

I knew I forgot one! Hilton Head. Has anyone been there? I hear it's wonderful.

We've been twice and we're not DVC. The first time was when Bruce & I just moved to GA. We went for our 1-year anniversary in Oct. We stayed in a studio & had a very relaxing long week. Things were pretty quiet around the resort in the off-season but that was fine with us.

We went back a couple of years ago & met my sister & her family. We rented a 2-bedroom for the 8 of us. We had a great time.

It's a very beautiful resort. The one BIG downside is that it's not on the beach. You can either take the shuttle, drive your car or ride a bike.

Went home for a while to wait on the cable guy. I couldn't work from home since our DSL modem is fried. So, I worked on our scrapbook. I got our title page done!!! I'm soooo excited. Why can't I win the lottery so I can stay home all day, still have money to spend & enjoy life by doing crafty stuff!!!??? Note to self ... in order to win the lottery, you must play the lottery!!!

I am sure we could work out a weekend. I wish you were coming back at the end of July like you have previously. I have an annual Conference at WDW (This year is Contemporary) and we had so much fun with everyone who was there last summer.

Wow Deb ... two fires to have to go through! I don't know if I could handle that! Thank you for the advice about the smoke detectors. We will test them. My BIL suggested that we have an electrician come out & check the wiring in the house. I asked the adjuster about that but she didn't say that it was something they recommended so I'm not sure if they'll pay the bill. Any words of advice from anyone else?

Oh ... HH .. or any of you other handy guys ... not sure if this is your realm or not ... there is an actual scorch spot on some wood by the roof. I asked DH if we should have someone out to repair it. He said that it just needed to be painted over. Is that all needs to be done? Or should the wood be replaced?
