Now that we're all taking about a do-over, I have a question about moving our booking. We definitely liked our cat. 8 but was thinking that if we were able to snag a SPH room, then we could save some $. Has anyone ever had one of these rooms? Any comments? If I decide to go that route, should I transfer my ressie to a TA now & have them deal w/ trying to snag me one of them?

Kikikaren, did you have a cat. 9? I should have asked you for a comparison to our cat. 8. I got to see Pam's inside room ... not really sure of what cat. it was. Should have asked to see someone's verandah too... it's probably best that I didn't see one of those, though.

Angie - you did see a verandah room, MINE!! Guess it really left an impression, huh? I love the verandah and don't know if I could go without it. I would have to see the price comparison. I'm sure that would be the deciding factor. Oh yeah, and my husband...:lmao:

Just curious ... how did the other early diners like the 5:30 time?
We had late our first cruise and early our second cruise. We had no trouble getting ready for early, and 5:30 wasn't too early for us to be eating since we didn't leave the table until 7 or so. I did feel as if we missed out on some things with early seating, though. Maybe it was because the late shows overlapped with some of the other late-night (OK, it's late night for us) activities. I'm not sure that I could do late seating again just because my blood sugars were so well controled with early seating. Also with late seating and our early bedtime, I was always too full from dinner when going to sleep.

Jim - I'ts great to have friends....I am sure they are muh appreciative....

Guess Sharon has to do the laundry this weekend, since you are escaping to WDW.....

Yea right. She and Lisa are coming to the Contemporary Friday night for part of the weekend since it does not interfere with gymnastics.

I'm sitting in the convention hall right now waiting for the expo hours to end so I can get out of here and head to the West side.

Well, you weren't alone. I was crying for that part, too! Lucky some CM didn't come along and have me locked up in the psycho ward at the med center!

VIDEO??? The VIDEO is OUT??? SCUBA! :furious:

I kept waiting for the check but it never showed up.

I had a nice reply typed in and the server ate it. We had a Cat 11 on our first cruise and Cat. 7 on our last cruise. The only time that I really appreciated having the verandah was on our 2nd CC day when I was isolated. If we book again, it would be a 10 or 11. I can always hang around on deck 4, 9 or 10. I have connecting SPH cabins booked for Nov. 2007 girls' cruise. I had faxed my request to inventory control once we figured out the date we wanted to sail. When the dates were released I got a call from DCL to see if I still wanted to book (actually the call was the day before the dates were 'officially' released). I booked with them then transferred to DU. Dare I say that I'm already looking at 2008 dates so I can fax in my request for either 5520 or 5020 already? Maybe I'd better do that before I post this reply.;) Didn't we say May 24th for the 2008 Eastern or is it June 7th?:confused3

We would prefer the June date. Late May doesn't work well with Mark's gardening. :flower3:

The 10 dayers can chime in, but if we wanted to keep more information up to date I could do a monthly newsletter again. I did this for the 10 day cruise. I put it up on the website, but then e-mailed everyone a reminder on the first of the month when the new ones went up.

We also celebrated birthdays and anniversaries in it.

I was a little too burned out from the 10 day to do it for this cruise, but could start it up for a new one once we book.

Definately hope that GaRry and his family can join us in 2008!

You are a very mean person. I had no idea you had a mean streak.

Forgot to mention about dinner seating. We definately need to stay on early for many of the same reasons as Sandi. The only time the 5:30 seating was a pain was the first day. We had to rush from saying goodbye to GaRry right to dinner. I would have liked to stay out on deck a little longer and see us sail for a while. I like being in Parrot Cay for Pirate night but it isn't a deal breaker for us and will be happy to go with what the rest of early seating goes for.

I am sooooo glad that WE didn't have any rude people. ;)
Didn't I hear you calling Jim some choice words after the "video"????

Two things I'd like to see. One we talked about before the cruise and one after.

  1. A group photo. Did you guys see the one in shutters of the neon green shirted people. It rocked!
  2. A DIS meet on the 2nd sea day. Kind of a catch up. Maybe someplace quiet on the cruise. Like one of the lounges. It seems you get in a groove and just don't see everyone. This would be a good way to catch up with everyone.

Also, an unofficial lunch time / place (ie 12:30 at Lumiere's) on sea days or even excursion days. That way if you want to meet other DIS'ers it would be easy and if no one shows up, no big deal. But, you might be able to have lunch with someone you normally connect with.

I think that is a great idea Sharon.

Also, I would like to see the idea of a Ladies Tea at Palo's implemented. It would be nice to have a time to get to know the other women DIS'ers especially those whose kids are not the same age as yours. I know I saw the Tween parents because they tended to be in the same "pattern" I was. I didn't get to know the families with smaller children - ie my kids are too big for the Mickey Pool, etc.

Well as someone with no kids I never thought I'd spend time at the Mickey Pool, but I had a great time there playing LRC with my fellow DISers. :)

Good idea.

It's funny, we never ate lunch or brunch in the dining rooms once this cruise!! Which is probably a good thing, but we enjoyed before. Not even sure what we were doing now on those sea days.......

If (big IF) we are able to go in 2008, it would have to be in June since the Florida Legislature just mandated that school cannot start before the end of August, which puts us into a June ending date (Matt's graduation year)

Boy time flies, Matt's first Disney Cruise was when he was in 5th Grade and Lisa was in 1st Grade. (In 2008 it will be graduations from 12th and 8th Grade!!!)

DUH! I did see it, didn't I? See I was so enthralled in the conversation that I didn't even really notice the verandah! :) I think there was an $800 difference between our cat. 8 & a cat. 6 when I booked our cruise. I just couldn't justify the $800 at the time.

I guess in '08 the girls will be getting out of needing naps. By that time, Emily will be almost 8 and Ashley will be 5.5 ... wow! is that right?! We'd go with the flow on dinner seating times.

Hi everyone. Have been really busy and haven't had time to check in. Love all the discussion on cruise talk for 2008. Jim -- June is definitely the month for us too because of Dale's HS graduation. Texas Legislature is doing the same thing as Florida, so we have no clue when school will be starting and ending. More than likely sometime in June. Maybe Disney will come out with a nice itinerary with some different ports in the Carribbean that summer.

I was on early seating and 5:30 was just too early for us. More than likely, we will go with late seating next time. There is so many snacking opportunities, that the kids never seemed really hungry at dinner time. 6:00 might not be bad, but I don't think that the first seating of the late (8:00) would be bad either.
