Good Morning All - I see Jim is already up.....Slep tight westcoasters......

I trust you all had a good Saturday??? Ours was productive if not tiring...we attempted to tackle the garden which had once again become a jungle...Out at 7:00 and in at noon - Sam had gone to the Fresh Market for yummy chicken sausages...5 kinds - pepper- yummy- apple-yummy- beer and bar - yummy - blueberry - no thanks, feta and spinach - likewise....a nice long nap follwed, and then more work, this time weeding.....needless to say dinner was salad after all that....

Today, well, I am a wee bit sore. Debating wheter to tackle more gardening, so much to do, and go to late church??? Must have coffee first...

How was your day - I will go see...

Morning, all! Our Saturday was kind of productive, I guess. The outside of our house is being painted, and the painters were here from 8:30 to at least 4:30 (that's when we left the house). We had bought some new flowers for the garden, but couldn't put them in while the painters were here. So we actually spent some time digging through non-unpacked boxes in the basement looking for photo albums (and finding a whole lot more!), did some laundry, and then I spent HOURS scanning more slides.

Did a few little boxes from the early 80s (not a kind period in time for me), and then started on the first of 4 carousels of my parents' 1973 trip to Russia. They'll be great when I'm done with them. It's just such a shame that they've disintegrated so much. A lot of them are completely ruined. Most just need some Photoshopping. Fun project, though!

Today we'll finally get to the garden, and we're having some friends over for dinner. Still too cool to go to the pool, but we'll have plenty of time for that!

Enjoy your Sundays, everyone!

Good morning all. We are moving a little slow here this morning. I am still tired from yesterday and Charley worked until 10 last night. We don't have to be at Church until 10, so I guess we are still okay .

I really need to get everything unpacked and put away. I have loads of laundry to just get put up. Unfortunately, it is going to be a really busy week at work too.

Today's paper has the 'proposed' 07-08 school calendar in it... which, for the first time in years, has the kids finishing June 5... (new FL statute states that school can't start til 14 days before Labor Day...)

You are more than welcome. We wish we could do more......

I watched the moon and told the kids that I wish we'd had that moon on the cruise!

Finally got all my pictures onto disk. They still aren't in order, but I give up.
Will be sending one to you, Mark....have fun, there's lots of them!

I still feel sluggish since getting home....am I the only one? What's up with that?
It gets better each day, but still, it makes it awfully hard to get anything done!

Finally got all the pictures uploaded and scanned. Thought I would share a few with you all:

Boy, does THAT sound familiar! Kevin keeps saying we need to take another cruise when there's a full moon. He wants another shot at his famous photo, I guess. Does he think it will improve? Don't know, but it's a good excuse.

Ah, the MK crew looks so happy, and wet! Makes me want to go, but when it's nice and cool (wet is OK), and empty.

I'll bet Ashley and KT had a great time together. Is the Ohiofamily still there?

Stacey, me too. Naps every day, that's the ticket. Could just be PCD.

We had a busy Sat..spent the morning gettign Taylor ready for her big plane trip. Also had to get documents notarized for DVD...then off to ATL we went. Taylor ended up gaving 4 other kids that were flying alone on her flight, and as we were driving to ATL I noticed a co workers car go by me. I remembered that her daughter was in town, and figured she was probably dropping htem off too. Well got down to the check in counter, and they were in fron of us checking in. THey were on the same fligt at Taylor! That eased my mind tremendously! Talk about coincidences huh? Then they bots and I spent a nice (cant honestly say quiet HA) evening with Julia and her son Adam, at Fuddruckers and then onto the mall. We hit the Disney Store and Build A Ear ( I am a sucker!). We were having such an enjoyable time that I asker her waht time it was and was shocked to learn it was almost 9pm and I still had a 2 hour drive home!!!!! EEKKKK! All made it to their variouos destinations safe and sound, and that includes Taylor. She had an awesome time on the plane. And I had a nice Sat with a friend. I dont get to many of those.

PS Julia told me the funniest story of how her surprise went down when the kids finally learned that they were cruising, I am hoping she will share it with yall!

Amanda,

Happy to hear things went well. Yep, I'm a believer in "it's a small world after all"!!! What could have been a stressful experience for you turned into a great day! :woohoo:

So did you Fedex that DVC paperwork in?! Aren't we sooooo glad we did it?!!!! :thumbsup2

Oh, Julia....... please share the story with us! :sunny:

Laura! We re going to Fed Ex it in 2mmrww. AND I think we are going to go ahead and get the extra 50 pts. I talked to brian (was her your guy too?) and he suggested doing it as an add on as opposed to a whole new contract rewrite...so if in the furture we decided we wanted to sell some pts we could sell the smaller 50 pt contract. Made sense to me :-) And Julia simply must share the story... I almost needed a drink warning when she told me!

Joan is our DVC rep (love her!). They're the experts, so I'd definitely follow their advice! Congrats again!

Is it cheaper, if you only build the EAR??? :listen: heh heh heh LYMI

I am SOOOOOOOO bummed! Was at Target yesterday, and they have sailor outfits for dogs....no, I wouldn't put one on the dog....but I WOULD have bought one for Pooh to wear on the cruise!! I may buy them for next time, though. But it wouldn't be the same without Hedgie. :guilty: Thanks again, Irene, for the darling pirate outfit....he's still wearing it!

U-T.O.P. with 'Manda, Irene, Hedgie and Pooh!

This is a first in many months.....it's raining. We have our first tropical storm for the season. Glad we spent our time in the pool this morning.

Matt finally sent Sharon an email with details about what he has been doing. It is pure Matthew, even though we think someone else wrote it for him because he would never send a long email:

Here is what I have done so far.

Sunday 6/4: I left for Orlando International Airport at 6am for 9am
flight. My father and I arrive early so we have breakfast. After
breakfast, I go to my gate and await my flight to Miami. That flight was
only 55 minutes and went great I just slept the whole time. I went to my
connecting flight and got on the plane, but we sat on the tarmac for 2
hours, after they settled the problem the fight was a little over 2 hours
long to San Jose International. I got through Customs and Immigration ok
but, the person that was suppose to pick me up was not there, come to find
out she did not know my plane was late and after waiting a hour and a half
left. So I had to take a 20 minute taxi in a foreign country were nobody
speaks English. It was a little difficult giving directions to a house I
ad not been to in a year but somehow I did it. The family received me with
open arms, literally. Once I was settled in, I had dinner with them and we
just talked for the rest of the night.
Monday 6/5: I have to go to school for 8-12, then I have the rest of the
day free to what ever I want to do. After a great breakfast with just the
mother, I take the bus to my school where I meet my new teacher. He is in
his 20's, a student at the national/local collage, loves soccer, and does
not speak a word of English. If you want somebody to learn a language send
them to a place were the people only speak that language. The teacher and
I just talked; we got to know one another for the first two and half
hours. We talk about what we like, sports (he explained the World Cup to
me), family, and school. For the last half hour of school, we go over what
I already know. After school, I went back home for a lunch of giupinto
(rice and beans), chicken, bread with butter, and lemonade. Then I got out
my soccer ball and went across the street and play soccer with the locals
for close to four hours. I went back home and got cleaned up for dinner.
Tuesday 6/6: I went to school, were my teacher gave me a list of all of
the World Cup games. Then we went over verbs and other boring stuff until
10', were we went for a walk around the University of Costa Rica.
Afterwards I went to the Mall of Sand Pedro, where I watched The Da Vinci
Code in English with Spanish subtitles. It was pretty good for a movie
with so much controversy. Then I went home for a small lunch and 5v5
soccer. Afterwards I went home to do homework, have dinner, and go to bed.
Wednesday 6/7: Like always I went to school were I did a bunch of boring
stuff until 10', were my teacher and I went to the National Museum. I
learned a lot about how Costa Rica was first used as a place to put
prisoners during wars. Then I went to the mall and had lunch at the ever
so local Taco Bell. Then I went to the internet café and checked my email
and other personal things. When I got home that night, I found about 20
people in the living room. The mother had some work to do with them, so
the daughter (17) and I need to leave the house for an hour or so. We went
to one of her friend's house and watched TV for the whole time; it was in
English so I was happy.
Thursday 6/8: Again, I went to school and at 10', we went to the Mall of
San Pedro, walked around, and bought things for school on Monday. Then I
needed to get home because the son (21) and a friend of the family were
giving their final presentations for collage. They were at 7' and lasted
until 9:30. Afterwards we had a party at the house were there was a lots
of alcohol (I did not have any) and food. That night after the party and
cleaning up, I was the first to bed a 1:20 in the morning.
Friday 6/9: Today was interesting I have never seen so much spirit for any
one thing. The government gave everybody off until 2' in the after noon so
that they could watch Costa Rica vs. Germany in the first game of the
World Cup. My teacher and I went to a local bar for 18+ but I got in
somehow. I watched grown men hug and jump for joy every time that Costa
Rica scored. Costa Rica lost 4-2 but the country was still a big party
afterwards because we did not get humiliated in that game. After the game,
I went to McDonalds and consumed two big Macs, a large fry, a mcflury, and
two drinks (2300 calories) for lunch. I accidentally ordered too much but
it still only cost me $5 total. Then I went a played soccer in the rain
until seven at night were I dried off just in time for dinner and the
police to come over and ask me questions. The house next door was robed
while I was playing soccer and the police wanted to see if I remembered
seeing anything, I did not, but the daughter, the mother, and I had to
wait while the other family came back home from the police station.
Saturday 6/10: The power went off twice and a screaming family awaked me
at 7:15 am because they were watching a World Cup game and the power went
out. When the power came back on around eight, I decided to also watch the
game. Afterwards I needed to help cook lunch which was soup. Then I went
and played some 2 on 2 soccer. During the game the other neighbors dog
died suddenly. Than I had lunch and watched the final World Cup game of
the day. The family and I were supposed to go to a concert tonight but it
was sold out. So we came home and watched Anchorman.
