Since I can't plan a last minute trip for myself - I just planned one for Mike. He's flying to Chicago next Tuesday for a week with my parents.

Maggie is leaving Sunday for Girl Scout sleep-over camp. While trying to figure out how Mike will occupy his time without his little sister to torment, I discovered that for the same price or less than area day camp offerings, I can fly him up to "Camp Grandparents!!!" :woohoo: I think my dad is looking forward to some time with Mike - he's already planning their days. Either that or he's excited about slave labor lawn mowing. :lmao:

We'll have a few days of alone time with each of the off-spring since their departures and arrivals will stagger. And 3 whole days of no kids... :woohoo:

Tempering my enthusiasm is the knowledge we're about to put our baby boy on an airplane all by himself...(is there a nail-biting smile???)

Sandi, who did you have?
We had Ivan from Romania, maybe? and Bosari from Indonesia, I think. I was not impressed at all; nothing MAGICal.

:wave2: Hi Pam!

Sorry you had to come home. We could just live there in WDW, right? We enjoyed our day with you guys, too, and I will need a copy of the picture you got on your phone at Epcot. For blackmail purposes, you know?
AS IF!!!!

You! Are going to blackmail ME???? :lmao: :lmao: This is coming from the guy with the make up smilie face on the bald spot................ :rolleyes1

Did any of you guys do the Costa Maya Beach Snorkel. We are on the July Double Scoop and I wanted to know if we should do or snorkel on our own there. Any suggestions? :confused3

Bosari must have been new to his contract - he didn't always deliver the drinks or desserts to the right people. I don't think Ivan and Bosuri were in a grove as a team, yet.

I really appreciated the visability of the head servers working along side the staff during the week. It's a pain, when they introduce themselves on the first night seemingly only to reappear on the last night for their tip envelope.

While nothing exceptional, Ivan was nice - very tolerant and patient with the kids' table (we combined Susans, Amanda's 2 older kids and ours into one table all ages 9-11) Susan and her husband scored big time...They brown-nosed daily chilled shrimp from Alexandria, the head server. Daily Key Lime Pie from Ivan - one night I think he brought 3!!! And fried mozzarella sticks since they missed them on the menu while they were at Palo.

I quickly learned to make up my mind on an entree and not be indecisive (or at least not within his hearing) Ivan was a big fan of the "if you can't decide I'll bring you both" philosophy instead of offering recommendations when asked...) Formal night, I couldn't decide between the scallops, veal, and duck - I got all three full plates...And then two desserts (I had made up my mind on dessert but, he heard me waivering)...I think I out-ate Matt that night..

ahhhhh
Do you ever wish you could slow down time when you want? I mean ofcourse so we could still be on the cruise instead of home. LOL Slow it WAY down on the last day at CC- who's with me on that one? LOL

I'm still adjusting and dealing with not just a minimal amount of depression. I can't believe it's over already...... wahhhhhhhhh... and so much we didn't end up doing that we planned on and honestly I'm a bit bummed that I didn't see/meet more people (besides the split second I saw them at the meet the day we embarked). Next time I'm carrying a big huge DIS sign around with me everywhere- and it will also say if you're a DIS'er you better say hi to me. LOL :rotfl: I realize now people were everywhere we were- and we just didn't recognize them! Things like hearing about the boy at the bingo games- um, I was there, I heard him, I had no clue that was a DIS'ers son! The "I Like orange" teenage girl? I had NO CLUE that was a DIS'ers daughter until I saw the pictures when we were back on this board. LOL

We wore our buttons almost the entire time (except when in swimsuits and in evening wear for dinner) but maybe I should have stuck my chest out more to get it noticed. LOL

Which btw I can't find my button! *cry cry cry* It's somewhere... the problem is that we had to keep taking them off when we returned onto the ship because it would set off the alarm thingy- I kept just sticking them in bags that went thru the xray machine. The last day I couldn't find mine so only the kids wore their's (still have the PDFG pins though!) I gotta find my pin... it HAS to go in the memory box. If I have to tear this house (okay the luggage that's still not completely put up yet) from top to bottom to find it- I will!

Man, I wish we could go on another cruise, with the DIS'ers all there again, like tomorrow. Who's with me?
I'm all for a DO OVER! :grouphug:

Our servers (Peiroj & Daniel) after the first night were great! The head server was around all the time- which I found a nice surprise since I'd read so much on this board previous to the trip about head servers not really around much but still expecting that tip ofcourse! She kept bringing us pecan pie after the night I asked for some (after eating some at PC for lunch that day LOL) and one time she came around and just started cutting up Ruby's steak. LOL Ruby was a little uncomfortable with that (she is 12 and we've recently started letting her touch a knife to cut up her steak LOL) but it was sweet of her to do that and the POINT is that she was around constantly and willing to help if the servers were busy- yanno?

We also had Alecsandra! I wonder if all the other head servers were as great as her?

Note to self: next time keep camera handy at all times, search out DIS'ers and take lots of pictures with which to blackmail them after the cruise- that should be more than enough to pay for the next cruise (rinse and repeat).

Kidding!

After the first time it gets much easier especially when someone is at the other end to pick them up. We now have plenty of experience with Matt flying by himself, making connecting flights, meeting up with rides and never had a problem.

But then again, he has been in Costa Rica since Sunday and all we have heard from him is a voice message of "I'm here and made it. Good bye""

Sounds like you guys had a different experience with Ivan. We really like Ivan at our table and he gave us his recommendations every night. After the first night, we started just going with his recommendations. I think Basori was new as well, because he didn't go too fast. He was our least favorite. we had Leroy last time as an assistant and he was really good.

I too really missed not meeting more of the Dis'rs I think it was mostly because we were on early seating and they didn't even have us together as a group. We had two tables together (ours and Sandi's table) then the other early seaters were half way across the restaurant.

Ashley was thrilled at being picked to be in the Ventriloquist show. She didn't get to be the "I like orange" girl, but she did get on stage. At the 8:30 show, she was the one where Lynn told her she had great nails. That was a real highlight, but guess who didn't have their video camera. I only got stills.

I had plans to do so many activities on-board, but didn't make most of them. I really want to do an Eastern so I have an extra day at Sea to enjoy the ship. After doing two 2-day westerns, I don't believe I will do anymore Westerns.

We rebooked on board for late 2007, but will most likely move that to 2008 once those dates come out. Who all is up for a cruise in 2008.

Still haven't got anything done and I really need to go to the grocery store.

During sailaway. I think John grabbed a shot of Angie's daughter dancing - her arm is slightly in front of her face - Angie is in the background so, I'm assuming it's her.

We'd be more than willing to book a "do-over" cruise, too!!! John's looking for any excuse to buy his new camera... With his new camera he'd be more than happy to make both seating rotations...

John did get 3 shots of our family at sailaway. There's one with all of us. One where you can see Emily dance with me on the side and another with Ashley on Bruce's shoulders. I need to get prints of those.

This do-over is sounding better & better!

Welcome Home, Pam!

We enjoyed seeing your family again. Glad you enjoyed WDW. That is too funny that y'all ended up next to Mark & Mary!!

Wish we'd have seen Ashley onstage with Lynn; I'll bet that was cute! Alicia's "I like orange" was an absolute hoot!! The look on her face when she heard the sultry voice Lynn gave her was priceless!!

We didn't re-book on board, but that won't stop us from signing on for another cruise!! We're game for 2008! I love Monica's idea: The Mulligan Cruise! :thumbsup2

Hi, Monica. I've done some computer scrapbooking, and use Photoshop Elements. It's a great program, and you can do a lot with it. Digital scrapbooking is fun (although I enjoy the cut/paste thing better), but I'll warn you now... You'll have an extremely difficult time finding Disney kits. Much easier to find paper-type Disney scrapbooking supplies (check out Mouse Memories!).

--Samantha

Maybe I should invest in Elements. I got a flyer from Costco yesterday that has a coupon for Elements for $40.

I've never scrapbooked before but sort of wish I had looked at the stuff onboard. Was it DCL specific or just Disney? I've seen Disney stuff at Michael's. Maybe I'll try to put something together for us.

I'm not sure who suggested it - Karen maybe - but someone suggested next time we do two DIS meets. One on sailaway day and another later in the week so that we can all catch up with each other. I think that is a great idea!

I like the idea of the 2 meets. I guess I sort of felt overwhelmed the 1st day not knowing what to expect for the lifeboat drill, getting to dinner, etc. so we bailed out of the meet early... plus the fact we had 2 cranky girls.

I think we all had the same opinion. Sounds like the late diners had a better experience with them.

That's what we did too Pam. I'm sure we'll be going in the summer of '08.
