What you need is the full resolution pic!

What kind of printer are you using?

Funney - we were talking about printers last night.....We have an Epson Stylus CX6400 - which when purchased we had no digital camera. I think we may need a stand along photo printer and not try to print everything on on printer....Sam is wondering about space....

Now I see your pics on the screen, I can work with colour and tone adjustment.....I am getting better at that, but for the underwater shots, my "memory" is not that good of a reference - ie - how much red to boost etc etc.....Although I am pleased with the boost on the lobster....

I want to try a side by side with the monk fish between ours and yours as that will be a good test for my memory........The blue of the sea on the wall dive just doesn't match my recollection.

Thanks....

Do you print on Matte or Gloss or High Gloss......Film, I print on matte.

When you select print, you should get a popup box for your printer, check the settings, and set it for photo quality or at least high, it's probably on normal by default.

Thank Mark....I will check the settings......

Don't know if it was because our table was in the corner of the room (and behind the server station in every restaurant), but the photographers didn't take pictures like that of our table on Pirate Night or with the other Parrot Cay border... I want one... (but with MY kids in it!!!)... we don't have a picture from Lumiere's either!!! Guess we need to go back...

We too....and we missed Castaway Cay - last time we were snagged on the beach with the ship in the background, so this time we sckpped the formal poses, alas, no neat shot with the Magic logo for us???? (pooh).

Maybe we can cut and paste????

Good morning everyone!

Someone is getting a very special package today. Once it has been received I'll be happy to share a picture of it. :)

Mark - can you ask the other moderators if the server had any problems when we were all out crusing....It seems to have been busy lots since we returned...... :teeth:

Yes the servers were still busy while we were cruising. Believe it or not we are just a tiny percentage of what gets posted on a daily basis. The webmasters are looking into the server issues.

Good Morning MMary - thanks for the info on servers.....I need t pull myself away from looking at pictures and drive to Miami.....Traffic - oh nooooo....DCL come take me away (again)......

You got some great shots. I love the one of Ashley underwater. That's so cool! The lens may have gotten dirty from the salt air and water. But they can probably be tweaked in Elements to be more clear. If you want, email me a few and I'll see what I can do with them.

--Samantha

Can you believe I actually got that one of Ashley without me going under water? I got 1/2 of Emily's head in her shot. Oh well! I couldn't go under & open my eyes since I had contacts on. I still can't believe that Ashley was opening her eyes under water in the salty ocean water.

I finally have gotten the pictures sorted out and divided into two different catagories;

General vacation shots that include onboard pictures.

and underwater diving shots of both Costa Maya and Cozumel.

Both of these are in a slideshow format.

There are some funny ones at the end of the general shots with our tables cutting up...... imagine that???

I haven't had a chance to go through your pics yet. But, I did want to say that I love your pic in your siggie!

Irene, you don't need a stand-alone printer just for printing pics. Ours is a HP "photo" printer (it's pretty old now). We use it for printing everything. When we first got our digital we had to get rid of our old Epson. It just wasn't capable of printing photos.

I don't like the matte photo papers, personal preference. I really like the satin finish but it's hard to find sometimes.

Kevin - great pictures. You really have a good eye! I love your sunrise/sunset pictures.

We have an Epson Picture Mate that prints only 4x6 prints. You can get either glossy or matte finish paper. It does a VERY nice job for "regular" size prints. There are some awesome photo printers on the market right now, but when I need something printed at a larger size I just take it to the camera/photo store and have them print it.

The blue of the water can be changed with a lower f/ stop and then using the flash. Darkens the background and the flash lights for foreground. Kind of cool, but you have to watch your distance to the subject and not get to far, or it will all be dark......

And this is NEAT because I haven't done much since we got home. So many supplies... so little time...

Thanks for the kudos folks! I love this stuff, the sunsets and sunrises over water are very interesting to me.

Talking with John about photography this trip was fun and informative as well. Thanks John!!

Kevin,

You're pictures are fabulous! You're so NOT helping with the camera discussions!!!!

I think he visits the DP photo site more than I visit the DIS boards!!! :lmao:

Good morning cruisers!!!
I think I've talked Augie into doing another cruise (wasn't too hard of a sell). Probably not until 2008, but I was telling him how a lot of you guys "missed" stuff on the cruise, like us, and want a "do-over". When do 2008 dates come out? How about the same time of year, 2008? Does that sound good to everyone? That gives us almost 2 years to save and pay that puppy off. C'mon---what-a-ya say???? I've got the bug.

Ok. I feel better that your room doesn't ALWAYS look pristine.

So, any suggestions on how to start on my first ever scrapbook? There is a scrapbooking store near work. Should I just go there? I think it may be a Creative Memories store but I'm not sure. There are also Michael's & Joann's. Would it be best to take a class somewhere? I'd really like to throw something together without spending a lot of money. Is that even possible?

2008 dates will come out in Sept. or Oct. I remember I booked this cruise in Oct. & think the dates/rates had just come out. I'm in for the same time of year! Memorial week was nice because it required one less day of vacation time. The only bad thing was pulling Emily out of school on the last day ... but that really wasn't sooo bad. They weren't doing anything anyway.

Need to go see if the school calendar is out yet for '07-'08 school year.

Sounds good to us too! I just checked Gwinnett County's 2007-08 school calendar and it looks like we're out by 5/22!! So "same time" in 2008 works for us!! :woohoo:

Fulton didn't have their schedule out yet. I'm thinking it'll be the same. '06-'07 is the same as it was this year.

Our '07/'08 calendar won't be out until March '07 - but, historically, the kids get out the last Friday in May, so it should work for us... '07 they are out on May 23. BUT '08 - the last Friday is May 30 - so, we may still be in school the week after Memorial Day. We may wait and book after the '07-'08 dates are released.

This may cause a bit of a discussion in our house - camera or cruise...I bet right now if it were to go to a family vote - cruise would win 3 - 1 :lmao:

Angie, you got some great shots! Love the way the smiles get bigger as the cruise went along. Looks like you spent some time in character lines, though.

So Sandi & Larry got a chocolate cake for their anniversary celebration? I'm jealous! All we ever got on second seating was white cake! And they always brought it out after we had eaten dessert, so no one wanted any.

2008 is a maybe for us. I actually talked the studio owner into having the recital two weeks earlier than she had tentatively planned so that Alicia could be in it and still cruise. I think there were kids that still had finals the next week. 2008 is recital year again, maybe I should let the studio owner pick the date this time. We were sort of thinking we would push our next cruise back to 2009, and it would be Alicia's graduation trip.

Even if we can't go, can we still chat on the thread? :rotfl:
