So, I did get one cruise-related thing done today. And it darn near gave me a headache.
I figured out the cash we'll need...with tip envelopes, luggage tipping, drivers, cabs, excursions, shopping money, etc.
Went to the bank and drove the poor teller nuts. Actually, I was really good, I had a list written out:
Three $100 bills....$300
Two $50 bills....$100
And so on.....
But it was a "Teller in Training"...so she didn't have a "full" cash drawer. After buying from another teller twice, they finally took her to the vault for more. :teeth:

I still need to divide it all up into the separate envelopes, but I have a cheat sheet, so it shouldn't be too bad. I'll have about 13 different envelopes all together.
At least none of them are LAMINATED. :rotfl:

I hope you remembered the envelope labeled "Wine Money".

Morning all!

If you want to follow the box of buttons, here you are: UPS Tracking

Kikipug will be disappointed that it won't show live footage of the UPS man facing Molly. :rotfl2:

Maybe it will show the UPS guy tripping over the cases of wine that I have sitting at the office. :confused3

Ohhh, good idea! :thumbsup2 I may try that myself. I definitely don't want to spend $16 on a sandpail and shovel like I did last time we went to CC.

$2.99 at toys r us. Complete with vented carrying case.
I remember the year we bought $16 toys at CC. Not only did I KNOW we had to bring them home, I was paranoid some little kid would walk off with the shovel.

This way, if all of the toys get stolen....OH WELL!!! :lmao:

I have a question for the ladies (& John since he packs Monica's shoes :lmao: ... I've been trying to decide what clothes to pack without having to take too many pairs of shoes. I have black strappy heels to go with my red dress for semi-formal night. Now I'm trying to decide what to pack for Palo on formal night. We won't be in the dining room that night. I have a long khaki-color linen dress. Will the black strappy heels go with that??? DH is no help.

Kiki, are y'all still planning on joining us at Palo?

Tough choice on AI. They each have fantastic voices, and each have done some amazing songs and some pretty "bad" songs.:confused3
Boy, Simon was sure in a jolly mood, huh??

Yup, and Paula reconfirmed the fact that she needs rehab. She just gets more and more annoying.

Anyway...about the contestants:

I love Taylor, so it'd be hard for me to say bad things about him. He just truly ENJOYS singing and performing and his voice isn't that bad.
Elliot....I love some of the songs he's done over the course of the season, but he just hasn't come up to bat these last couple of weeks, IMHO. And, Diana is right....his warbling is getting to be too much. (melisma I think is what she called it)
Katherine....I think she's been in the bottom two or three more often than anyone else on the show. I think yesterdays "Somewhere over the Rainbow" was INCREDIBLE. If she could always sing like that, she'd be great. But too often (like on her OTHER two songs last night) she ends up doing the screaming, screeching thing (like Stacey's point about the National Anthem being sung poorly)
I think Elliot will go home tonight. We'll see.

I saw a write up about Simon and his "harshness" and the person made a good point. They said "we're not used to telling the truth or hearing the truth, so when we do it sounds cold and harsh. Simon tells the truth." Interesting way to look at it.

Nope. Not me. I stick whatever I can on the Disney Visa to get points. We'll be heading to the cruise with $609 courtesy of Disney Visa! :) Ya just gotta be careful that you pay off the balance each week,....b/c getting $609 but paying $1000 in interest to get it isn't cool!! :)

I did find out I can call FL Tours a couple of days before the trip and put my car on my Visa....going to do that too. I really don't *like* carrying that much cash. I'll bet we'll have less than $200 cash for the trip.

Cool! Caught up to a U TOP shared with Stacey!

DCL Eastern Caribbean's First Trip to Antigua Sept. 04 :smooth:

Question....should that be September of '06?
And....I was on DCL and went to Antigua....in December of '04 for the 10 day Christmas cruise....and if I remember right...it wasn't DCL's first day there (thought there had been a "first time to Antigua" pin already)

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

OH WAIT....you're saying that was a PAST TRIP.....right? NOW I'm catching on!! (I'm a little slow!) :lmao:

My answer....yes. :)

Besides, once you sit down, no one will see your feet!!! :)

And besides, the only people you have to impress are your fellow DIS boarders....and we love you no matter what shoes you're wearing. Heck, I probably wouldn't notice unless you wore bunny slippers!!!

We are, if the offer is still open... thanks. However... we are going to 'attempt' to get a different night if possible, as we would like to do formal night as a family. We are probably still going to dress for formal night regardless, as I don't want to have to bring any extra clothes...

Elizabeth says that she's going to dinner in the dining room that night whether we do or not... gee, I wonder where she gets her independence from????

Hey! I sailed the Magic in January....after dry dock. For Ocean Quest you take the midship elevators down to the second floor. It's right there (just aft of the elevators)

Just looked at the Navigator I printed from Mark and Mary's site....it's on deck 2 where it says "conference room"

HTH

Thanks... so it looks like the entrance may be between the elevators??? I just need to know whether magnets will work for the stuff on my door, or if I should switch to crazy glue with all the kids tromping by...

Your office has got a ways to go in terms of stacks of adult beverages in order to catch up with mine!

My thoughts - when in doubt wear black...what would have been your other choice?

You're shoes will be under the table anyway...and I'll be too busy looking at my plate to look at shoes... ;) besides, if you look under the table - chances are mine are kicked off... :lmao:

Yes, the offer still stands. If you get something else, let me know so that we can either cancel the 2 extra seats or offer them to some other DIS'er that failed to get ressies. I'd sort of like a different time but still on formal night. Bruce doesn't want to feel out of place in the dining room if he's not wearing a tux ... sort of wish I could change his mind.

I'll definitely let you know ASAP... remind me... what time were the ressies for?

Thanks for answering my question Stacey & Karen. I was wondering how much cash we needed to have for room service tips (can I charge those or is it better to give cash?), cabs, etc. I'll be using my rewards card for the server & stateroom host tips.

If not black, I'd wear my linen-color slides.
