Hello all! Hope you don't mind if I join this thread, even though (this is where it gets complicated), there's still about a 25% we won't be on this cruise.
Maybe right now you're thinking, "Wow, first post and already drama." Stay with me peeps, I have a good excuse.
DH & I (no kids) booked the 5/8 sailing for our 10 year anniversary. Things looked good, I was a planning fool (*cough* yeah, which one of us isn't?). We planned it around DH's schedule because a few years back he returned to school at a local university with special class schedules for working professionals.
But...(really big one -- little bit genetics, lot of sitting, even more ice cream...but I digress)
DH had a nice long chat with his advisor a few weeks ago and realized that now that he's hitting his last 30 hours he has to start taking some courses that are only available during regular hours. What this means to us is that he's on regular calendar time for 2011, and Easter being so late has pushed the end of the school year out a week from what it's been in previous years.
#@@#$!!!
That boom you hear was my multiple trip-planning spreadsheets imploding.
The really good news was that there was plenty availability for the next sailing, and even our same cabin was available (oceanview). YAY!

The annoying news was that in the
past week it had gone up about 15% in price.

Oh
DCL, you are one wiley little heifer. Is our timing good or is it good?
This has also really confounded our plans to visit WDW pre-cruise as we won't even know until October a little about how DH's finals will fall, and not totally certain until January! (Now, see, most normal people don't get why this is an issue, because those weirdos don't plan a vacation 1.5 years out, let alone choose where they'll be eating on Thurs, 5/12/11 at 5:50 pm). But I think I've finally figured out that worst case scenario we can do a few days before and a few days after. Which is a little joke on me since I have always been an avid "no way jose, you must be crazy" on the concept of a post-cruise WDW visit. It's really a "you need a cruise after a WDW trip just to recover" thing...I know you know what I mean.
So if you're still with me (and not desperately seeking your "block crazy poster" function), hope you don't mind me hanging out on this thread despite all things being up in the air. I just can't imagine going without a DCL-support group until things are settled.
