5/12-5/26, 2007- LIVE from the first MED repo cruise! Now adding PICS! :)

Hi all,

just checked the bridge report, waves are "very rough" at 13-20 feet.

we have 18,000 feet of water under us!:scared1:
and possible rain tonight.

It looks like we are going to have tonight!!!

Pool deck party was cancelled due to weather, but they put together other fun things to do inside.

Internet is SOOO slow, hopefully it will be better once we are closer to land.

Skype is blocked, so don't make plans on using it.

I'll write later,
Jennifer

My calming tummy thoughts are with you. Any fresh ginger on board? I get seasick:sick: very easily....fresh shaved ginger in lemon-lime soda (on the rocks, of course....sorry:sad2:) works like a charm. Took 12 3rd grade girl scouts whale watching and watched half of them turn green...I was ok!! I mixed this concoction and viola....they all felt better! (old Hawaiian remedy)
Good luck to all of you...I'll be thinking about y'all.
Mari:thumbsup2

Hi Lucky!;) :lmao: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: Hi Bobee!

Special thx to Michelle and all the other posters who are sharing their trip with us!! I can never due these early cruises due to my job, so I REALLY APPRECIATE your posts!!:grouphug:

I'm alittle scared about the "high seas!" Is this normal for the Atlantic this time of year?? Anyway, I hope things calm down soon.........it sounds like you're all having a blast...........

Seas are still rough tonight. 13-20 ft waves. travelling at 22 knots. Today does not feel as rolling. Not sure why.

This changing clocks an hour every night is rough. Not many people are up and about in the mornings or at breakfast. Tomorrow will be the last night for changing clocks.

All of the outside activities were cancelled due to the weather. The Farewell to the Carribbean party was moved until tomorrow night. Morning temp was 66 degrees.

Tonight was the game show "on the nose" It was fun. Not alot of people there, but it was fun! Our team lost though,

We did have the DIS board official Half way party! Over... and over and over again :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (Anytime someone showed up we partied)

I may post a picture of it later. We are taking over the Oceaneer Lab tonight! So Flubber all around.

That will start in 45 minutes or so.

Another day at sea tomorrow!
Debbie

glad to here you are having such a great time home the waves get better soon just stay strong through the night

So very nice of you to keep us updated! Here is hoping for calm seas and warm temps!

and o yeah have fun taking over the oceaneer lab tonight well the kids will sure love hearing mom and dad are having fun in there teritory with no kids hahahaha

What's the "On your nose" event?:confused3 :surfweb:

Our team won "On the nose"!

It is a game show where you have to guess Disney trivia and one member of the audience is on stage and then you get help from your team mates in the audience. The theater is broken up into 6 groups and there are 3 rounds. We won during the bonus round! I think the question was like how many names were there for the original 7 drawfs.

Our prize was to have all the characters (well, about 7) come and take photos and spend time with the guests. WAY cool!!!)

Just a quick note to ANYONE booked on Air Comet Plus into or out of North America - they have stopped all service to North America - Call your travel agent!!!

Where are you getting the shots of the Magic's position from?

Someone posted yesterday on the Q and A thread that a family member is a CM onboard and that the ship was taking on water. Is there any truth to that? Can someone on board confirm? DH is retired Navy and says it is not uncommon for a ship in deep water and stormy conditions to take on some water in high waves. Anyone? The post has been deleted, I'm not sure why.

32 knots, that's bookin'! Are they still behind or making up time? I would love to see pics of the wide open sea if anyone wants to post them.

I read from a Moderator the post was made from a relative of a CM on board, but deleted whilst being verified by the poster. This was reported on the 2008 E/Bound repo thread yesterday.

I believe 32 knots was the wind speed. Disney quotes the top speed of the Magic at 24 knots. Compare that to the old S.S. United States, built for fast trans-Atlantic travel, which had a top speed of 43 knots! It's record for crossing the Atlantic (NY to Britain, I'm assuming) was 3 days, 10 hours.

Shows what I know! Thanks for the information though. Pretty cool!

Thx for the updates!! Hang in there with the crazy weather!!
