We will be in WDW from July 3rd until July 8th. We have never been during this time. How bad will the crowds be? Worse than X-mas and Spring Break? Thanks!:D

We were there last 4th of July. the only other times we have been were during our April school vacation time, which usually falls right after Easter. We stayed away from MK on the 4th, and went to AK instead. We had a great time there- almost everything had a minimal wait:D . There were no lines at Tusker House at lunch time. We went to Epcot in the evening and had a great time there,too- it was crowded, but not "crazy". We heard from people we talked to that MK and the water parks were mobbed on the 4th. My suggestion is to just choose a different park to visit that day. Have fun!

It's rare that a holiday will outdo the crowds and congestion of Christmas week into New Year's.

July fourth is very busy, however and you will need to plan for your visit if you are to be happy with the experience! Choosing a park is half the battle. MK and EPCOT seem to get really hammered for this holiday.

If the day is nice, the water parks usually close due to capacity. I'd not want to be at one on this holiday.

Many resorts have little individual celebrations for the fourth. You may want to check into that and consider staying at your resort and enjoying the pool. If not, selecting your park of choice, wisely, being prepared to park hop if needed, and being ready to deal with capacity crowds will go a long way toward your having a good day!

Have fun.

Thanks for the info. We will be there from June 30 to July 9. It's been a few years since we were there on July 4, so we were wondering if the crowds have changed any in MK on that day. I guess not.

Thanks again,
Michele

Thanks! We were prepared to not be able to go to ANY park that day. We will gladly put MK off for another day.

We go to DD during the day and to the pool at the resort. My fiance plays golf in the morning. We watch the firewoks from the veranda at Narcoossee's (you have to eat there) then (like crazy people) go to the MK after the fireworks. It's crowded, but fun.

I have very mixed feelings about our trip to Disney over the 4th of July vacation. I want to be in Disney for my birthday BUT the thought of the huge crowds is such a turn- off. Summer is so crowded anyway...I can't imagine how bad it can be at the height of peak summer attendance.

We have been at Disney twice @ July 4th. Expect it to be hot and crowded. Take advantage of the fast pass. We were able to do everything we wanted or planned to do. I have heard others say it a nightmare at this time, but for us it wasn't that bad. Just knowing what you facing will make thing a whole lot easier. And also being able to roll with the flow. :earsgirl:

We were there this past July 4th and chose to hang out at the pool in the morning, then go to MGM in the late afternoon. We stayed there until the fireworks (watched from close to the entrance), then walked *quickly* to EPCOT for IllumiNations. They were both awesome! Then we drove to the MK just to say we had been to 3 parks in one day. The crowds coming out of the MK were huge, but *surprisingly* no one was going in! LOL We rode a couple of rides and stayed until closing time (I think midnight?) It was exhausting, but so much fun!

Something to think about: We were staying at Ft. W. but checked into the CR for that 1 night and they were checking ID's at the pool all day.

We were there last july 4th had a non park day. Early afternoon while DH & GS swam i did laundry, Then we resort hopped before having dinner at chef mickeys, after dinner we watched fireworks from the over look at the contemporary. Best fireworks we ever saw, they had the music piped in for us to hear and the fireworks was all around the MK.

We enjoyed the fireworks on the 4th so much that we are staying an extra few nights this year to watch them again. We get off of the cruise on the 3rd and decided to do discovery cove and seaworld and see the 4th fireworks. WDW is before the cruise....got to use them AP's before they expire. :)
