I am planning our first trip to IOA/US. We are going to celebrate my sons 5th birthday - which is during the week of the 4th of July. We have done WDW several times so this trip we are staying at Universal. We will have FOTL access because we are staying onsite at the HRH.

- How crazy will the crowds be?
- My ds is really into soper heroes so I am wondering if there will be huge queues for pictures with the characters etc..
- Will the playgrounds be packed?

Thanks! We always go to Disney in the off-season so I really don't know what to expect!

We've been the Universal the last two July 4th weeks. It was crowded, but with the perk of express access the waits aren't bad at all for the attractions. There is a superhero motorcade at certain times of the day. Check for the times when you get there. Can't help you with playgrounds or lines for characters since I go to the parks without children.

We have been during the week of July 4th several times and plan on going again this year. We don't stay onsite so we do not have the perk of front of the line. We do have annual passes so we use express pass and have found it not to be too bad at all. It is crowded though. Just relax and Have Fun!!!!!
