Cast- Myself, 30 & DH 33
This was our second Disney Cruise, but our first without the kids.
All good things must come to an end, and this was ours. Debarkation went very smoothly. We were at breakfast for the 8:00am opening. While I really enjoyed the food on this cruise, this breakfast was pretty sad. I know they are trying to rush you off the ship but still. I got pancakes which were just that... 2 very small pancakes(like the size of the palm of my hand). I wasnt offered any meat(I suppose I could have asked) or anything. It wasnt a big deal as I wasnt wasting away by this point, LOL, but I would expect much more from a sit down meal.
From our last trip I remembered we had to wait in a short line to get off the ship. This time we literally walked off, grabbed our luggage, walked by the customs person and dropped off our form. All probably took under 2 minutes. We were off the ship by 8:45 am and at Orlando Airport before 10:00. It all went very smoothly.
One word of advice for airport security...if you buy one of those models of the ship, you might want to put it in your carry on luggage. We had ours packed with our dirty laundry(of course
), and we happened to be one of the lucky ones to have our luggage xrayed at check in. Because of the ship, they had to open our suitcase, find the ship, open the box and all the wrapping. They examined the ship and tested it for explosives. DH started showing them where it was in the suitcase and they practically yelled at him that he wasnt allowed to touch anything once it was opened.
So, if you want to avoid the possibility of this happening, put the ship in your carry on (easy accesible) luggage.
All in all this was a Wonderful trip! The weather was great, the seas were very calm, and pretty much everything went smoothly. Before our trip we got many comments that we were crazy to take a Disney trip when we got the chance to get away without the kids. Those people are so wrong! We had so much fun, even adult fun, and there were plenty of times I commented to DH(because of the previous comments) "I dont see any kids". I can definitely confirm that Disney is not just for kids. With some Pixie Dust(and lottery winnings would help too) we will hopefully be cruising DCL again in the future.
