I had thought of booking it for the part of our trip that we have family with us who've never seen it. Personally, I really could care less if I see it or not (the crowds in the amphitheater can give me an anxiety attack). I think if our group wants to see it, we'll just join the standby queue.I think it depends on your situation, would you wait it out in a storm anyway or would you have the ability to go on a different night? Or is the show not that important?
I tend to like the convenience of the package, but reading this I cancelled mine for June. I’ve gotten lucky in Sept but it’s a bit of a relief to not be worried about the weather. However, I’m an AP with a longer trip so if it’s full nbd I’ll just catch it another night.
I will say that this is really making me rethink booking the fireworks pkg--we did it last year and loved it. It was the first time seeing Luminous, and while it is no Illuminations, I enjoyed having an unobstructed, seated view of the show. I think I may pass on it and just save the $$$.
We've really lucked out on the weather over the past few years we've gone (lately have done June/July/Aug/Sep). The only time the weather kind of threw a wrench in the plans was when we had an EEH VQ for guardians. We came off of FEA to an absolute hellish T-storm that kept everybody in the gift shop for about 45-min. We called it as soon as the lightening passed but the rain was just awful. It was a very cold, wet bus ride back to the resort. Luckily we tend to take fairly long trips and don't mind too much if we miss out.
