Yeah, my dad is stylin', or he was. Poor guy, he's falling apart too. Mom just called me this morning to let me know that he can't seem to keep solid foods down anymore....that is when he eats, which is practically never.

Yep--my Mom is down to 95 pounds. She eats, but never seems to put on weight. I told her to stick with ice cream.

Hi all!

I hope those of you that are sick feel better. :flower3:

And I hope that everyone has a wonderful day.

To those of you who are not feeling well, I hope you all

My older sister is in the hospital. She just had surgery this morning for a deviated septum, which was causing her to have sleep apnea. My mom drove down to SD to be with her. She needs to have someone stay with her for 1-2 weeks to help her eat and get about the house. The surgery went well and she is in recovery and has to stay overnight.

Before the surgery, my sister was telling us how she wouldn't be able to take hot showers or drink any hot liquids or else it could cause a nose bleed, which in turn could make her susceptible to infection. :scared: I'm glad that my mom is with her.

Hugs and GWW to Katie, Capri, RoseMarie, Cristabel, Cheryl, Cheryl's momma, Brandy, and Kathy. Did I miss anyone??

Hope y'all get to feeling better real soon! :goodvibes

Love and hugs to everyone else! :grouphug:

Oh gosh--is that forever? I can't imagine no hot coffee forever! Hope she recovers quickly!

Rochelle, hope your sis is ok! That sounds painful! Glad your mom is going to be with her!!

Get well vibes to her!!

I think everyone's busy with work or family.

I'm eating dinner and unwinding from school.
Then it's diving into my books for homework and studying

Ok--totally off topic--but I love me those Mucinex commercials on tv!

Your Dad is STYLIN' Capri. My Mom covets a red walker, but didn't like the style. She has arthritis in her hands so the hand brakes wouldn't work for her.

Hope all the sick folks feel better soon. And I found out this morning that I have a staph infection in my NOSE!!!!!! More drugs. Apparently I got it the last time my Mom was in the hospital. :scared1:

And Mom just called and has an infected foot so has to go to the "day hospital" to get IV antibiotics. And Brandy thinks now that her elbow might be broken too (the doctor never x-rayed it). She finds out tomorrow.

I tell ya--we're fallin' apart out here in SoCal.
My gosh, Cheryl! When will your life give you any relief?

I hope everyone is having a good day!

Minor whine - they painted our back door at work today. It's right outside my office door. The sander was ridiculously loud. The paint fumes were terrible. The guys were loud and did I mention its in the low 50's and raining. AND.. since the paint is wet, the stupid door is still standing wide open which not only lets in the cold air but is a security risk. I refuse to open my door and freeze to watch the door that should be closed. What kiind of moron paints outside on a day its supposed to rain anyway. It certainly could have waited until tomorrow or better yet, Friday when I won't be here anyway. lol
That sounds like pretty poor planning.

LOL - yep, those Mucinex commercial characters are pretty funny! :happytv:

Sorry to hear about your staff infection. That's kind of scary, so please take care. And your poor mom.....geesh, I hope her infection gets better soon. And good grief, Brandy may have a broken elbow too, and they never even checked it out?!!! I really hope she doesn't and is on the mend.

No falling apart on us. Get the super glue out! ;)

I'm sorry, Capri.

I think everyone's in self-inflicted time-outs! :lmao:
You're a funny lady!

Hello ladies! I'm back from work, but I still have a couple of more things to do before I can completely relax.

I am making corned beef for my Friday group, but I've only done it in the Crock Pot. The 30 pounds that I have to make will not fit in there, so I'm planning on cooking it on the stovetop, like it says on the packaging. Does anybody have any other suggestions? Cheryl? Dan? :rotfl:

Are you glazing it? I usually make it with brown sugar and Guinness. Yum!

I do it in the crock pot also, but wonder if those oven bags you can get for turkeys might not work also. I don't see why not. Then you could do it low and slow like you do in the crock pot. Now my mouth is watering...

I make mine with brown sugar and Guinness too. I like it much better that way.

Hey Heather, I think you could be right about those oven bags. We've used them for turkey and ham, and they are awesome for keeping the meet nice and juicy. Perfect for slow cooking. Great idea! :thumbsup2

It's quiet today and I still can't find time to try and catch up with this thread. I thinks my problem is I really need to learn names. Joy. Half the time I don't even remember my own name :rotfl2:

I hope everyone who's ill gets better soon!

I wish my headache would go away before I have to leave for my Anthropology exam @ 7 p.m.!!

Tina, Dan has never made corned beef, but after hearing about brown sugar and Guinness glazing, I'm thinking we might be trying it this St. Patty's Day! :shamrock:

It should be! It's delicious. It's going to be so weird for us not having it this year. Unless I step up to the plate and make it. But I am a disaster in the kitchen.
