Oh fun! We could do a meet and greet / wine tasting / cocktail hour at my place! :)

I call dibs on a spot next to the puppy!! :dog:

Where in Seattle are you? I love the city. I used to live there right out of high school.

:) too funny.

We live in lower Queen Anne...do you know the neighborhood? 4 blocks from the opera house.

Hey girls! Thanks again for all the support. You all make me feel so loved!
Well, the job went great today! We had 59 eaters, and we made BBQ Tri Tip and Chicken, Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Steamed Asparagus, Mixed Green Salad, Bread and Butter, plus Fruit and Cookies for dessert. It went well, but I am so beat tonight.

Kel~I'm glad your mom is ok!
Vicki~When are you going to Yosemite. We will probably be in and out of the park the week after the 4th of July.

The Jabberwock, of course.
Of course.

Quick, someone tell me what the heck a Jabberwock is.....:rolleyes1

Happy Weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!!
Whooo hoo!!

Yay me!!!

I can tell this is going to be time consuming.
It can be. :rotfl2:

Yes, we are still planning a Seattle meet this summer! It looks like it could be quite a big group, depending on who can make it. In the general area I counted Sarah, Tracey, Deb, Laurie, Theresa, Patty, Angie, Capri, Callie, me and it looks like we might have a couple more joining us. Oh, and Kelly wants to come too and of course everyone else is welcome to come! I was thinking about starting a planning thread soon, beginning with taking suggestions for dates.
YAY. Hey Carol, you rock!! :thumbsup2

Sound delish! :thumbsup2

I'm going to be in Yosemite in May and I have spent several hours the past couple of days researching places to stay. Anyone have any suggestions? I am mostly looking at B&B's in or near the park (we will be driving from Sacramento).

Carol~our friends have a cabin in Groveland, and we always just stay there and take day trips to Yosemite. But just for a time reference, it takes us about 30 minutes to get to the park entrance, plus another 30-45 minutes to get to the valley floor from there. So I would suggest any of the places between Groveland and the park. I don't know specifics on any of the places though, so I can't be of much help to you.

That would be awesome - maybe on Friday night? Any suggestions for some dates?

Sure --

All of June but the first week is open. The first and third week of July are out, but then anything else goes for the rest of the summer.

Does that narrow things down? :lmao:

Hi
I need cliff notes for this thread.
I am too tired to go back and read.

Good night ladies! Everyone get some rest. I think I am still trying to catch up after 5 nights of little or no sleep. Not sure why I couldn't get any sleep on the trip this time, but man, I've been dragging since we got home.

Anyway, sweet dreams all! :cloud9:

I am tired and so happy I can sleep in tomorrow. Ahhhh..

Good night ladies!

Amen to that! I am still exhausted from the trip, too. Work kicked my butt for the four days I went! I am sleeping until 9 am tomorrow - that is what I do when I am REALLY tired.::yes::

Night All.:)

Pixie dust to all those who are sick. It's No Fun To Be Sick. That Berenstain Bears book was Breezy's favorite when she was little. I had to read it about 80,000 times!

I LOOOOVED the Berenstain Bears books when I was little too! I still have a monster collection of original golden books too. Hundreds and the collection is probably worth more than I want to know. They are important and I want my babies to read them someday too.

I don't know what it is with me and the guys I date. It seems like just about every guy I seriously date turns out to have issues with their mood/depression. I thought this one may have been a keeper, but I don't know, there is something about a guy who gets upset about everything that just has me worried. I am starting to learn that almost every man on earth must get their own form of PMS. He is betchy this week. Stay away.

Well sometimes it pays off when you keep a reasonable distance and remain patient. Sometimes people react weird when something is greater than they're used to and don't know how to handle it because it's new. Some people screw up because they are afraid they're going to do something wrong. In my case, I saw a bunch of red flags from the get go, but then I took the time to get to know him and really listened to his fears and let him open up to me. Derek and I have definitely had our fair share of problems since we got together in August, but no matter how bad things got, I found that I could instantly forgive him because I truly love him. I moved back home from California because we had a falling out and I was so upset. It took being away from him to realize that I really can't live without him and now I'm moving to Oregon to be with him in a few weeks. He's moving back from Cali then he's flying to Indiana to meet my family then take me home with him. Time tells the truth. It's a cliche, but I've learned that cliches exist for a reason... because they are the absolute perfect combination of words that explain a sincere situation. We still have a long road ahead of us but we both love one another and that's all that matters. If the signs say run, then run. I did and it made me realize what I am really supposed to do in the long run. (no pun intended :rotfl:) Good luck and if you ever need to vent you can PM me.

I was thinking we could plan a Friday-Sunday trip with Saturday being the main day with a family-friendly activity. Then those of us who want to spend the whole weekend could do some smaller get-togethers on the other days. I for sure want to hit Starbucks/Pikes and also the Experience/SciFi Museum, and maybe a meal at the Space Needle. Right now my head is still spinning from the Diva trip and thinking about next year's dates. Maybe this weekend I will get something started.

Did I hear(see) Seattle meet? I'm about to move to the Portland/Beaverton area and that's driving distance!

Yay! Ive been wanting to go to WA. Can I come? Ive been looking for an excuse to see the town of Forks. Lol. Yes I am a Twlight dork. :lmao: I cant wait for this trip!!

The Jabberwock, of course.

That's OK ... "I think you might do something better with the time than wasting it in asking riddles that have no answers."

:3dglasses give me a headache by the way!

But regardless, I loved the movie. It wasn't what I expected and I don't like the casting choice for Alice (something about her totally put me off), but I left the theater with a smile on my face. I've heard a lot of negativity about the movie and I just don't get where it's all coming from :confused3 I guess people are just going in with these huge expectations. Don't. It's the worst thing you could do for any movie. It's called suspension of disbelief for a reason.

Futterwacken = weirdest out of nowhere random dance ever.

I didnt like the casting for Alice either. I havent seen it yet but I didnt like her in the comercials.

We may go see Alice tonight or tomorrow night. I'm sooo excited!!

All you sickies, please feel better soon.

And guess what I'm doing? Making a Facebook! Shows how much I love you ALL! :)

Facebook can be addicting. I ave a friend who spends all her time on it.
And Im excitede for Alice also. It would have been cool if it opened when we were all there then we could have watched it together as one big group.

Etsy.com?

I love Etsy! I order jewelery from a lady on Etsy.

She totally knows it. We start puppy kindergarten tomorrow...my husband and I are joking that she is going to be the biggest kid in her school. The one that always has to stand in the back row for class pictures. :lmao:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2::laughing:

Hi everyone!

I'm super-new to the boards. I've been lurking for a couple of months but haven't posted as I don't have much good advice to pass along to others amongst all of the experts here!

I'd like to join in...your 3rd trip sounded so fun. I'd love to be part of the next.

My name is Katey, I live in Oregon with my husband and 3 kids. I'm a west coast girl so I grew up going to Disneyland. We typically make it every couple of years. In fact, we are going at the end of April this year which is how I found these boards.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you! :cutie:

Hi I live here in Cali. My names Vanessa and I was new to the Divas his year also. This is a wonderful, Amazing group of Women and I think youll like it here.

Off to la la land!
Completed my tax return ($58 return WoO HoO!) and submitted my Fafsa for the upcoming school year.

Morning and happy Saturday all!!

Thanks so much Beth, Deb and Tina for thinking of mom. She took her drugs yesterday and I haven't talked to her yet today so not sure how she is feeling. Luckily she is not going to Truckee today so hopefully she can get a break but I think she is still going to have to do some work here in town. I know she was feeling a little better but going up to that cold in Tahoe did NOT help her at all. But unfortunately she HAD to go as one of their clients needed to make their carpet and tile selections before they went to Hawaii for a MONTH! Must be nice eh?

Anywho yes I would LOVE to go to the Seattle meet and hope it works out. I know mom will want to come with and as far as dates for us we are "hoping" to go to DL the week of June 21st so the weekend before and after that would be bad and then mom goes to monterey in August but if she is unavailable I would still try to come and maybe I can room with someone who is coming from out of town. If you guys end up choosing a weekend I can't come I understand but I sure hope it works out cuz I would LOVE to come! I loved living up there and miss it a lot!! Mom and I have gone up there several times for vacation since I moved back to Cali in 98 and we LOVE it up there in both OR and WA! We LOVE Pike's market and the whole puget sound area. LOVE all the ferrys and have pretty much ridden all of them. Love the whole westlake area and the space needle. Just all of it and I am up for whatever anyone wants to do. I just hope we pick a weekend I can go. WHENEVER we decide it will be during a swim meet so Shane will have to take the girls without me but he will live LOL. This sounds like so much fun!

And hey all the norcal/bay area girls we need to think of a time we can get together as well. I can DRIVE to that! We can just do a day trip or an overnighter. I am up for whatever! :)

Anyway today we are off to basketball and supposedly they are having their awards ceremony. They told us at the beginning it would be today but we have heard NOTHING since. There are 4 teams in the 3rd/4th group and 4 in the 5th/6th so not sure how they are going to work it. It sure would have been nice to know before the DAY OF! But I am not surprised with this park and rec group. We used to swim with them to and that is one of the reasons we left cuz they are really unorganized but unfortunately it is the main one for where we live so that is where we have to go for all the school sports since they no longer do it through the schools anymore.

Then tomorrow if everything works out we are going to go see Alice! I'm excited and not going with too many expectations. I am just looking forward to the visual aspects if nothing else. That was one of my fav parts of avatar was just how amazing it was visually! And of course I am looking forward to the oscars tomorrow night! :)

Hope everyone has a GREAT day and weekend and talk soon! :)
