40th birthday meal

hi - we are a party of 8 adults ranging from 35-65 + 1 14 year old and 1 18 month old, will be sil's 40th while there, we are staying at SSR and would like a nice meal in DTD - we have been coimg to orlando for many years and tried several places at dtd but non for a celebration. Any recommendations please? we are currently thinking t-rex if able to get reservation as menu seems to suit more people - many liked fultons but some arent keen on seafood, thought about planet hollywood but didnt know if would be too noisey for 18 month old although he doesnt mind a bit noise? please let me know your experience. Also if its poss to book manybe a cake or somekind of suprise. thanks

Portabello yacht club is very nice. the cuisine is northern italian. we have seen many disney executives dine there. happy birthday to your sister-in-law!

Pawn the baby off on the fourteen year old and go to Victoria & Alberts. At $~330 a couple with tax & tip it ain't cheap, but wow is it good and special. I bet that Queen of yours doesn't eat any better then that.

You might feel a bit guilty, but that'll pass.

If you are concerned about noise at Planet Hollywood then you should definitely avoid TRex, when they have their 'shows', it can get quite loud.

I would reconsider Fulton's. There are non-seafood items on the menu. I have not eaten at Portobello since they redid it, only drinks at the bar, but you may want to look into it (not sure if the changes were for better or worse). You may want to also do some research on Paradiso 37, I have seen some good and some bad reviews of it, but it's still quite new, so I guess that is to be expected.

Otherwise I'd give House of Blues a shot. I would also think about Turf Club at SSR, we had a great meal there last year, or Olivia's at Old Key West.
