40th Birthday Gift

Just need a little help or ideas from the DIS!

This year I am turning 40! but along with that so are most of my friends. I was hoping for any ideas for a fun birthday gift?

It can be funny or whatever so please help me out with anything you have recieved as a gift or given too.

The first friend to turn 40 I have known since we were 11!

I went to Universal for mine and had a nice dinner with three other couples at one of their better restaurants. Then we did shots and got temporary tattoos.

I wanted to go to DL for mine but it is President's Weekend so we are going another weekend and I will wear my Birthday button!!!!

Anyone have any other gifts?

This is more of a joke...and I got it from another DIS poster. On the weekend my sister turned 40 we were camping.....I hung 40 bras on a clothes line with a poster that said "Support Sister On Her 40th Birthday". Everyone thought it was hilarious.

Also filled a cone with suckers and put a flag on top that said "It Sucks To Turn 40"

It was funny...and then someone stole half our bras overnight. Punks.

You could put the clothes line in the front yard of whoever is turning 40!

we had a friend give my husband a "nest" egg:

She took easter grass for the nest and nestled 3 (I think) Easter eggs in it with the dollar coins in them to start a nest egg.

We had just bought our first house and she put since we had a house now we needed a nest egg

That was his favorite.

There is an engraved pendant which circles our city for women's 40th birthdays. It is engraved with 40 on one side. It moves from person to person with a note of who had it and when they hit 40. There is no schedule. You might keep it a day, you might have it for months until you hear of the next one hitting 40. Then it is shipped off.

Personalizationmall.com has some really cute frames. I gave one to a family member who turned 40 last year--it was black with "40," her name and birth date written all over it. She was going on a girls weekend with all of her friends that were also turning 40 that year so I told her to make sure she got a really good group pic to put in her special frame!
