I will book our 40% pin code vacation for Wed-Mon in September. I need to do this by the end of March when the code expires.

But- Southwest does not open their September dates until April 7th. Many times I can get great deals on SW if I am willing to adjust my days flying in/out of Orlando.

So- if I book under the code- do you think I could call back in April (after the coupon expires) and perhaps add or subtract a day or two to the front or back end of our vacation?

Hope all that made sense!

Thanks for any comments!

I sure hope so because I plan to do the same thing.....I had the 40% PIN last year (or the year before) too and I wish I could remember if I made changes after it expired. I really think I did. Booking so far ahead of time before the next school calendar and airfare really makes it impossible to know the exact dates. I'm thinking that we have the trip booked and deposit paid, so it shouldn't be a problem to make a few changes.

You should be able to. A regular CM may not be able to do it but as long as you have it booked and the resort and room category arent booked a guest services agent can do it.

Southwest changed the date to April 14th , I'm waiting for airfare for the end of August.....

I don't have personal experience with this, but I am fairly certain that I have read on these boards that you can not make changes after the pin expires and still receive the pin discount. Maybe I read the previous posts incorrectly but you should call to confirm that you will be able to "tweak" your dates.

You can tweak the dates but guest services will have to do it. Keep in mind that the resort might be sold out with the pincode so its possible availability may stop you, not the pin code expiring

Why not book a few extra days in the resort that you can later remove when you book a flight.

I agree and can speak from personal experience it is MUCH easier to overbook your days and reduce those if you need to, rather than try to add dates later.
Being able to do so is all dependent on availability at the resort.
That being said it could be by reducing dates later may result in a change fee.
From what I have read here guests have been able to adjust dates (dependent on availability) but guest services had to do it.

We did the 40% pin that closed in March last year and added days twice after it expired, once in May and another day added in August with no problems. :thumbsup2

I was told by a CM this morning that so long as you're already booked with the code, it's ok to modify your ressie later.

Exactly what I wanted to hear! Great info! Hopefully all CM's are on the same page as I'll be modifying my ressie later on.

Back in "06 when I got a 40% off code I added rooms, more people, changed resorts, added dining up until the 45 day mark. Hopefully I won't pester them that bad this time though.

We booked with the 40% off last March and were even able to downgrade resorts after it expired and still keep the code. Good luck! :thumbsup2

I was able to do it last year, had the 40% off code and kept switching my April and Oct resorts around.

This year we have a few more trips booked with the same code and the CM's said you can change the resorts after the 3/30 date as long as they have availability of rooms with that discount attached....when I booked my bounceback 2 weeks ago for June I really could not decide what I wanted and the CM told me no prob I could change it later if needed
