40% discount AND DP??

I have read that I can get both the 40% discount on the room (I have my ressies for December) AND still get the DP. :scratchin

Is that true? I am assuming that I also have to buy a one day ticket for each of us for over $70 apiece to make this a 'package". It would be $142.72 for the tickets and then about $789.00 for the DP for us both. Is there any cheaper way to do this? I know I can apply the one day tickets toward an AP but we have 4 from other trips and have been told that you can only use one ticket toward each upgrade. :confused3

If this is true can one of you DP experts explain to me why this would or would not be a good deal for us? :teacher:

The free dining last summer was too much food for us but hot weather does not make me hungry while the cooler temps just might.:santa: '

Keep in mind that this special 40% off pin deal has to be booked my March 15th. This sounds like a great deal and I would've done it if I was traveling during one of the "target" weeks. I tried to do it for Aug.15, but the target dates for August begin August 21. For December I think the target dates start Dec. 9-21, if your dates fall within that timeframe your chances are good, if you have a pin code on your account or have received the pin code via mail. Good luck and post back.

SlightlyG- I was thinking you could buy 2/3 four days passes applying the one day ticket to each. Then again I guess I wasn't really thinking-so sad as that has been happening to me waaaaay to frequently:confused3 :goodvibes :lmao: . Keep me updated on what you do.

Stay safe & warm, looks like we are in for some nasty weather:flower3:

The snow is nearly gone. Maybe spring will sprong soon?? Indiana weather is as changeable as the Disney Ressie CM's.:lmao:

bonzarella, did you survive the wintery blast? It was not so bad IF you did not have to get out in it. Since I just bought a brand new car yesterday I ain't a goin' to be driving on nothing but dry pavement. :thumbsup2

n2mm, we have booked in for ten days in December with The Code and are looking for something to tide us over until then. Right now the thought is to hold off until the first part of April and see if free dining will be offered and go with that. Failing that I will just swallow hard and book in at whatever code I can find for mid May. :cool1:

Bicker and chrismom2005, I would not sell my tickets. I wish I could offer them to my grandkids and take them but their parents are anti Disney. How could I have raised such people???? My youngest grandson is a Disney nut though and he has plans for when he gets away from "Those People" (his words not mine). :rotfl2: If I find myself unable to go again at some point I will give the tickets to someone who might enjoy a day at Disney. :grouphug:

I bought a new car yesterday so I am now able to get to Disney when the right offer comes up. I got a good enough deal that I have a few bucks left.

Being able to pay cash for a car is a wonderful thing but seeing the look in the eye of the saleman when you whip out that checkbook is - priceless!!!:dance3:

BTW, there are many explanations for what a Hoosier is but none are definite BUT I do know the definition of a Buckeye and since I used to be one I can attest to its truth. A Buckeye is (look it up) a useless nut. :rotfl2:

Congrats Slighty-G, isn't the smell just wonderful??? I wouldn't be taking it out til it's sunny & 70:goodvibes . I am soooooo ready for spring/summer:banana: Kids have not had a full week of school since the middle of Jan. We are now in extending the school year mode:scared1: . Off to work, congrats again:wizard:

bonzarella, you said what I am thinking. The new car has not been delivered yet so I told my hubby that I am driving our old truck tomorrow to avoid having something happen to our old car before it is traded in.

If the roads are good I might do a small road trip to Ohio this weekend but it has got to be dry roads all the way!!

Hope you do not have to work too hard today.:surfweb:

MickeysMommy, many people got THE CODE via mail and booked in. Some did not get it but were able to book the offer anyway. There are many threads with all the info but it is only for certain dates. We are booked for December. Good luck to you.:flower3:

What impact do you think the 40% code is having on the chances of Disney offering the free dining this fall? I am afraid that this is in place of free dining.

Any thoughts??

That's precisely what I think. If they are allowing 40% off the room and then you pay for dining it makes the odds of free dining less likely. And I believe the dates for the 40% off were less restrictive than the dates for free dining in the past. People who received the 40% off were also allowed to book more than one trip with it. I didn't get that offer so I don't know for sure how it all worked. We got free dining from the bounce back offer in December.

Hey Slightly goofy, we will be there in Dec too:banana: What are your dates? Maybe we can meet each other?
Best wishes with the new wheels:goodvibes

I originally booked my room and tickets online and paid the online full price. I called Disney a few weeks later and asked for any discounts and that I wanted to add DD. She quoted me same package but with DD for only $32 more! When I broke it down, I did receive the 40% off the room which "paid" for the dining add on.

bonzarella, we will be at the Sports from December 9th-19th.

Do you want to ride down in my new car? :lmao:

Let me know if my dates match yours and we will plan a meet. I collect DISers ya know! I met over two dozen on our last trip. Of course we were there for 3 weeks and I wore my 'special' shirt many days.

It is hard to miss SG in her SG shirt.:rotfl2:

I actually called up Disney yesterday and wanted to pay off my room only res when the cm offered me the dining plan with 40% off because I had so many dining reservations. She was really nice and said it would definitley be worth it. I asked her to put it on a courtesy hold because im not sure if it would be worth it since we have to add the base ticket too.

NYDisGuy, might I ask if you go to Disney pretty regularly?

If you do having to buy a one day ticket for each member of your party is not really bad at all. We had to do it last time and I will use two of the tickets toward our AP for the year so it did not cost a penny more.

It was far too much food but if you have ever found yourself wanting to eat some place on site and been frightened off because of the prices this is a great chance to try new places and not have to worry about the bill.

I am considering adding the DP to our December trip as well.

Good luck with whatever you choose. At Disney you cannot lose.

We have a bunch of leftover tickets from all our previous trips before you had to pay for non-expiration. So im pretty set on tickets for the next few trips. Im probably going to do it though because we did free dining last year and like you said, it was way too much food but its nice to go to 6 different ts's when normally i might go to 1 or 2.

NYDisGuy, sounds like a good plan to me. It would also depend, for us, on how many days we were going to stay to make buying the one day tickets worthwhile since we have a stack of them ourselves.

TreslovesWDW, some of us lucky folks got an offer for 40% off for certain dates. There are many, many threads on the subject. I think you have to book by March 15th though. The dates available are through out this year here and there and many of the rooms have been fully booked. Good luck!
