Lisa, the first pictures of Haiti are beautiful! The ones of the city made me tear up to still see so much devastation. The pictures of the orphanage are great, it will truly be a safe haven for the children. I can't wait to hear more about your trip and I am so happy that you and Megan had a great experience.
Haiti is a beautiful place if you can look past the poverty...and in the last 6 months most of the rubble has been moved out, so there is progress, slow progress.....a saying that Len (Gengel) has is "Its Haiti" it works for so many situations. the orphanage is great and is a HOME

. thanks Cassey we felt so blessed to be there!
Thank you for sharing Lisa...
Great pictures. You can see the struggle of the Haitian people from your drive to BLB. I love the views from the roof... The orphanage came out gorgeous... and the little friend you made is a QT!

thanks Tim! they stuggle for EVERYTHING, but are grateful for what they have. its is a pretty building isn't it

yes ChrisLove is a QT and such a little LOVE!
Looking at the beautiful pictures again and knowing your heart, I KNOW you will be back in Haiti soon.
Praying today is a clam, peaceful productive day for you. You have another trip to plan too!
wish we could be going back sooner that what we have planned...right now probably won't go again until Christmas break 2014...I think Megan needs to be a bit older to handle being there for a full week and working with the children....but who knows that might change...
today, not going as planned...see below....the dance trip is pretty much all planned, bday trip will be more since doing dining ressies, etc.
Ah, nothing like starting the morning with a good cry. Virtual hugs to you both, Lisa and Megan.
it was a good cry, had many during the trip and they helped so much! thanks Jennifer for our
What wonderful pictures Lisa... and what an amazing project! (((Hugs))) Both you and Megan look absolutely radiant in every picture.
D~
Wow... When I loaded your thread this morning, it only loaded the last page, so I missed all of your photos from page 13...
Words cannot describe how the Haitian people are still living, and I cannot imagine how hard it must be for them.
From your pictures, BLB and the MoH seem like this little spot of peace among a world of chaos... And you can sure see the look of caring among everyone there. What a wonderful and amazing place, and I am so happy that you and Megan were able to make this trip.
D~
its heartbreaking to see the children on the side of the road, playing with trash as their toys.....yes BLB and MoH are so peaceful and everyone involved has such sweet and pure hearts doing what they are doing to make a difference. we were happy to finally make the trip also.
Megan is home sick, started feeling yucky last night at dance, came home and she's running a slight fever (99.8) and all congested...called her DR and she said to put her on the AB from the trip just in case and bring her in tomorrow if she's not better...probably just a virus from being on four planes and flying 20 hours.
so probably won't be getting to much done today, think I need a down day too...I will post another update tomorrow.
