So many smiles! I can see how Chrislove won your heart. Great picture of you and Megan and what a beautiful spot. I think it would be heartwrenching to leave the orphanage too.

there was so much happiness going around too! isn't ChrisLove a cutie!
knowing we will be going back someday helped with the leaving....some...

Beautiful pictures, Lisa. I'm so glad you found that penny...I know it must have made you and Megan feel Jim's presence so much.

The Orphanage is wonderful and I love the picture of you and Megan with ChrisLove...what beautiful smiles all around.

thank you Kathy, we were too, we felt Jim throughout the trip!

At the Hem-Onc Clinic, David's getting his IV iron...Crying...Love you!

love you too sweetie, hope the appt goes quick!

You have some fabulous photos! What a great start to your tr. So what exactly is a Britinarie? I am thinking it must be a volunteer at the orphanage, but please enlighten me.

thanks andrea....yes its exactly that and mash up like Buffy posted below

They mashed Britney and Missionary together. They have a link about it on the Be Like Brit blog

http://belikebrit.org/britsionary/

yup, you can sign up and then go work for a week doing whatever is needed at the time...the past britsionaries helped with the construction which I knew we wouldn't be as capable to do, we are looking forward to working with the kids!

Lisa, the first pictures of Haiti are beautiful! The ones of the city made me tear up to still see so much devastation. The pictures of the orphanage are great, it will truly be a safe haven for the children. I can't wait to hear more about your trip and I am so happy that you and Megan had a great experience.

Thank you for sharing Lisa...

Great pictures. You can see the struggle of the Haitian people from your drive to BLB. I love the views from the roof... The orphanage came out gorgeous... and the little friend you made is a QT! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Looking at the beautiful pictures again and knowing your heart, I KNOW you will be back in Haiti soon.

Praying today is a clam, peaceful productive day for you. You have another trip to plan too! :yay:

What wonderful pictures Lisa... and what an amazing project! (((Hugs))) Both you and Megan look absolutely radiant in every picture.

Wow... When I loaded your thread this morning, it only loaded the last page, so I missed all of your photos from page 13...

Words cannot describe how the Haitian people are still living, and I cannot imagine how hard it must be for them.

From your pictures, BLB and the MoH seem like this little spot of peace among a world of chaos... And you can sure see the look of caring among everyone there. What a wonderful and amazing place, and I am so happy that you and Megan were able to make this trip.

Haiti is a beautiful place if you can look past the poverty...and in the last 6 months most of the rubble has been moved out, so there is progress, slow progress.....a saying that Len (Gengel) has is "Its Haiti" it works for so many situations. the orphanage is great and is a HOME :goodvibes. thanks Cassey we felt so blessed to be there!

wish we could be going back sooner that what we have planned...right now probably won't go again until Christmas break 2014...I think Megan needs to be a bit older to handle being there for a full week and working with the children....but who knows that might change...

today, not going as planned...see below....the dance trip is pretty much all planned, bday trip will be more since doing dining ressies, etc.

Ah, nothing like starting the morning with a good cry. Virtual hugs to you both, Lisa and Megan.

it was a good cry, had many during the trip and they helped so much! thanks Jennifer for our

its heartbreaking to see the children on the side of the road, playing with trash as their toys.....yes BLB and MoH are so peaceful and everyone involved has such sweet and pure hearts doing what they are doing to make a difference. we were happy to finally make the trip also.

Megan is home sick, started feeling yucky last night at dance, came home and she's running a slight fever (99.8) and all congested...called her DR and she said to put her on the AB from the trip just in case and bring her in tomorrow if she's not better...probably just a virus from being on four planes and flying 20 hours.

so probably won't be getting to much done today, think I need a down day too...I will post another update tomorrow.

Awww... I hope you both are feeling better soon. (((Hugs)))

Thanks for the email, I didn't know Megan was sick! Praying she feels better soon!:hug:

dang I just missed you again....will call you tomorrow! I think its just a virus, was feeling better tonight, will see what tomorrow brings!

HA! Finally caught up! I hope Megan went back to bed, feeling better and you are snuggled in with her! :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Thanks for sharing your trip to Haiti! Still sad to see so many struggling so much years after the earthquake. BLB is a little haven in their midst. That's neat you and Megan are planning on going back to volunteer.

Hope Megan is feeling better this morning too!

thank you for listening last night, sorry to have kept you up so late! she did go back to sleep...heard me talking with you, then woke up about 3 again, decided to let her stay home, she's still asleep!

No worries, it was a good cry :) Hope she's feeling even better today!

tough night, so letting her sleep and stay home...at least no fever!

Hi Gail, it is so sad, but they have a wonderful spirit! 6 months ago things were so much worse, the new president is doing good work! yes it is a little beautiful haven. we can't wait to go back, wish we could go a couple times a year, but feel Megan needs to be a little older to handle being around the kids, I have a feeling it will be very emotional for us both.

woke up to a frosty wonderland...hard freeze last night, hard to believe one week ago we were on the plane to Haiti and 90 degree weather.

I will try to post an update later tonight, as I posted above, keeping megan home again...I need to go get a few groceries and finish putting things away.
