4 months out for February??

I was hoping someone might have some insight. We are purchasing AKV...YAY! We typically will be planning pretty far in advance, and we are pretty flexible with our dates. Could anyone tell me how difficult they think it might be to book a studio or 1 bedroom for February, 4 months in advance. I know it's always best to plan ahead. But I'm new to this, and am wondering if this will be impossible. We are flexible with resorts as well. (would rather not stay SSR this time). Thanks so much, for all of your knowledge!

Nothing is impossible! We are BWV owners - I just booked BWV standard view 1-br last week, for March 23-28. I am not one to call at the 11-month point (mostly because I forget), and I was nervous since March 23 is Easter. Two years ago, our kids' spring break coincided with Easter week, and we swore we'd never go again during this time - I have NEVER seen WDW so crowded, and we go during Christmas/New year every year!! Oh, well, shows what two years will do to your memory (that, and the fact that there is never a better time to go to WDW than springtime, weather-wise IMHO!!)

Bottom line, I wouldn't worry, especially since you said you're flexible with dates.

It would depend on when in February you decided to go. Early Feb (1st or 2nd week) no problem, after that its significantly more difficult.

Many schools have a February vacation week. I live in MA and our vacation week is the 3rd week in February. I would stay away from that one!

What you are referring to is President's week, which is up there with the busiest of seasons (not as bad as Easter or Christmas, but definitely in the same range as much of July). We're doing "P week" this year, and I booked day by day at exactly 11 months to insure getting my Boardwalk view villa (I spoke to CMs at MS about a week before that reservation window opened, and they emphaisized how critical it was to do day by day for that week).

So hopefully the OP isn't looking for that period, because inventory is definitely going to be low or even nonexistent.

I just booked a studio at SSR today for 2/19 to 2/24. This was the only place we could get all 5 nights in a row. I am now on a wait list for the Beach Club.President's week is tough if you don't want SSR.

We just purhased DVC last Sat..already booked AKV..studio for the last weekend in FEB..no problem. was very happy with that...

I just tried yesterday to book a 2 bedroom Feb 12 through Feb. 19. No Luck at any of the DVC resorts. I even tried to get 2 studio's again no luck. problem was 17th and 18th are booked solid. The only think at the time was a 1 bedroom at SSR, but since there is 5 of us I would need 2 and that is just to many points. So we changed our dates, we are now going 2/9 til 2/16. No problem at any of the resorts then.
