4 day Wonder -New Years Eve 2007

In anticipation of New Years Eve, I am curious as to what manner of attire my fellow DIS cruisers intend to don for this festive occasion? :groom: Thought it might be fun to see how decked out or “casual and comfortable” everyone plans on being for NYE. Tell us about yourself and your whole group, if you know.
party:

As for us, I’m leaning towards the tux (with vest, can’t stand cummerbunds, and “special” cufflinks) – dw, undecided as of yet – dd, nice blue & white, off the shoulder floor length dress.

Dh didn't want to do a tux nor can I get him to wear his Class A's so we bought a nice grey suit at JCPenney last week at their 60% off sale. I bought a semi formal dress at Spiegel. My stepdaughter is wearing a semi formal black velvet dress with sparkles also on sale at JCPenney!

I will be in a black and teal print dress, DH and DS shirt and tie for NYE. Pirates costumes for all on Pirates Night. As for meeting prior to sailing, I am not sure when what time we will be on ship from Disney transfer (I am assuming it won't be long since we will have already checked in at the resort). Where will you all be meeting and we will try to hook up with the group?

On past cruises they had meets on deck looking down on the Goofy pool prior to the sail away party. Did we decide on a time yet? The only thing with an outside meet is you need an alternative if the weather is bad. I think having the meet early in the cruise is a good idea.

Since I haven't cruised before, I'm not much help here. Since everyone has to do the lifeboat drill at 4, would 4:30 on Deck 10 be good? I was planning to be above the action to get pic, then move forward to hopefully see dolphins swim as we pull out of port. Promenade Lounge is suppose to be family friendly area for an inside meeting place same time?

Hi everyone! I don't know why, but I just found this thread despite looking for the last 6 months:confused3 . We, myself (40), DW (38), DS (6), DS (2), will be on the 4 nighter over NYE :cheer2:
We have late dinning. We had booked while onboard in March and were not able to get the early seating. We have Palo booked on NYE.
I think the idea of meeting a little later on the 1st day is best. Earlier and my kids will still be in the pool.
Does anyone know exactly what our final itenerary is? What night is Pirate night?
Thanks!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Howdy irwins0001, welcome aboard!

About your itinerary and Pirate Night question, all I know is what's posted at DCL:
Sunday - PC
Monday - Nassau / NYE
Tuesday - Sea Day
Wednesday - CC
Thursday - PC
In regards to the night for Pirate Night, not a clue. Sorry not much help, but glad to have you with us though.

Here is the response I got from DCL when I asked what night will be Pirate night:
Dear Irwin,

Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line Vacation!

Dining attire varies by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general,
most meals are "Cruise Casual" -- no shorts, swimwear or tank tops;
jeans are allowed. Most cruises also have special theme nights. Below is
the recommended attire for your cruise itinerary and is subject to
change:

On 4-night cruises:
*Night 1 & 4: cruise casual
*Night 2: "dress-up night" - jacket or a dress shirt for men; dress or
pantsuit for women
*Night 3: pirate night with deck party

Subject to change. Please check your Personal Navigator when you are
onboard the Disney Wonder.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you! Have a Magical Day!

Hello, Fellow Wonder Cruisers! :goodvibes Just checking in with a really good question my DH asked me tonight:

What time zone will we be in at midnight on NYE? Hmmmmmm... Veddy in-ter-rest-ing.

Using process of elimination, they would not have pirates night on the first day, second night is NYE, and the Castaway Cay night would be our final night so I don't think they would do the "Til We Meet Again" and the same time as the pirates show. It would be pointless to have the pirate buffet at 11pm when your are suppose to be putting your luggage outside your cabin door. My guess is that pirates night will be on the at sea day.

SO....jkrohn2703 have your still kept your secret and have you decided how to spring the christmas surprise?? Just 38 more days.

Since we have not officially decided on time or meeting place, if you see a lady with a wide brim lime green straw hat, come say hello. Have a blessed Thanksgiving all.

Hi Everyone - I just found this thread even though we've been booked for almost 2 years. We will be a family of five: me (46) dh (45) ds (19) ds (17) ds (13). :rockband:

Here's to smooth skies and smooth seas!

Welcome! Glad to see some teenagers around my son's age. Those sunny skies will be feeling pretty good with the way the temps are starting to drop. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Well, the kids still do not know, but DH does. Due to his line of work, I heard him scheduling things, and gave him a heads up. The kids on the other hand will be finding out Dec 25 under the tree from Santa. I made 4 puzzles out of a postcard DCL sent months ago, and the kids will have to put that together as their first gift. The 2nd box will be swimsuits, the 3rd box will be a "dressy" outfit for NYE and the last box will tell them we are leaving Friday the 28th for the VWL and the 29th for AKV. The kids will be very excited to see Disney decked for the Holidays. I can't believe we are less than a month away. :goodvibes

Glad to find you guys. :goodvibes I'm Lisa(38) and will be taking my niece Kaylee(8>9) for her NYE/Birthday cruise. This will be our 4th Disney cruise, but 1st on the Wonder - we are excited to check it out! Has anyone with a guarantee room received their room # yet? Anyone doing the Atlantis Aquaventure -or- were able to get a day room at the Atlantis? You guys that are doing the dolphin adventure will love it - we have done a "dolphin thing" 3 times now and the one in Nassau has been the best by far. Let me know the final place /time for a meet - I would love for Kaylee to meet some kids her age, although except for 1 hr for my stone massage - I am planning on some nice niece/aunt bonding time - but just in case she gets tired of me......:confused3
Can't wait:banana: :yay:

A belated welcome aboard LisaTex. Hopefully we will run in to your some time over the cruise. Any one received their cruise docs yet? I've been busy making packing lists, confirming reservations, calling the credit card company so they will honor any out of state/country charges, and working overtime for extra $$. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Season's Greetings to all.

I Just checked the DCL website to see if we had a stateroom yet. We had a Category 7 gurantee...we were upgraded to a Category 6! Stateroom 6586 :):goodvibes

Howdy neighbor! We are in 6598 and Grumpy4Ya is in 6550. Anyone else on our deck?

We're in 6043 - no upgrade this time. We were in a Category 6 for a family reunion cruise in July 2006. We're making a door sign, and we'll have some of the Mickey paint chips from Home Depot stuck to our door.

As for meeting, what about the "secret" verandah on Deck 7 aft? There aren't a whole lot of people that know about it, so it should be pretty quiet there: http://www.*******************/secret.htm

(It's disney cruiser dot info slash secret dot htm since I can't put the URL in here)

We had talked about (I believe) meeting around 3 or 3:30. Any thoughts?

By the way, 23 days until we set sail!!!!
