hi there! my mom and dad, and their two adult siblings, want to share a deluxe verandah (not the family suite). they're ok with being in close quarters...but 4 adults can fit right? the top bunk is sized for an adult, not kids only?

The top bunk bed has a weight limit of 220 lbs, and anyone taller than about 5 feet 2 inches may have a hard time fitting and being comfortable. The sofa bed (and the murphy bed in a family suite) may be a bit easier for adults.

The sofa bed and bunk beds are the same size (standard twin size), with a weight limit of 220 pounds. Adults can fit there.

Just a note - if you get a room that sleeps 5 you'll have a murphy bed, also. It's a twin size, too.

Top bunk as has been stated has a 220 pound weight limit.

I'm 5ft 6 and was fine up there (got it by weight default). Granted we were only on a 3-night, but I survived.

Just back and I slept on the murphy bed, can't share a queen with the husband, he takes his half out of the middle lol. It was not comfortable. The mattress was maybe 5 inches thick and the bed is short. I am barely 5'2" and my feet were at the bottom on the frame. Ended up spending about half of most nights in the queen with DH till I couldn't take him anymore then moving over to the murphy bed.

I will say my only issue with the pull down bed is there is nowhere to prop pillows up, and I'm used to doing that. I managed, but if it's a huge thing it can be a problem sleeping.

My 15YO son is almost 6 ft and he fit in the top bunk fine, but he is a bit of a "string bean" so maybe he curled up a bit.

One thing I will say, with four adults in one room, they may want to remember that the shower room associated with the Fitness Center (up in the Spa area) is open to all guests 18 and over for showers. It has lockable lockers, towels, robes, shampoo, conditioner, etc. My wife and I each used this on occasion so as not to have to "wait in line" behind my sons for the shower. Very nice. We just brought our change of clothes with us and dressed there in the locker room. My wife said that doing hair/makeup there was a lot more spacious than in our stateroom bathroom.

If they are trying to save $$ they may want to look at booking a inside cabin across the hall. It sometimes cost about the same or less to book 2 cabins. Then they can have more beds 2 bathrooms. They can visit in the veranda cabin but at bedtime it's nice to have more room.

Good idea. That definitely varies by the exact cruise. In our case, a veranda cabin was about 5% more than one inside cabin.

My 13 year old dd is very tall, 5'10" and muscular (about 170#). She sleeps fine in the top bunk

So, please don't take this the wrong way, but is there someone in that group who WANTS to climb up into the top bunk? Most guests who report adults using the top bunk, it's been someone probably in the 20- or 30-something range. That's not to say someone middle-age or older can't climb up there but the novelty could wear off if they are cruising for a full week. I know I could climb up there to sleep...I just have no interest in doing so night after night.

Enjoy your cruise!

No offense taken!! HAHA, actually my dad does! He's an artist so he is super psyched about the little features of the room (like the starry skies) even though he's an old adult. He's also not very tall so I think it's alright ;)

We book this type of verandah cabin all the time for our family of 4.
My 15 year old daughter is 5'7, weighs about 130 and sleeps on the top bunk. My 13 year old son (soon to be 14) is 5'8 and about 190 and sleeps on the bottom bunk. To solve the shower problem, I will shower in the locker rooms across from the Rainforest after I have some quiet time in the RR before dinner.
We have a shower schedule that starts with my 15 year old because she takes the longest in the shower and to get ready. Then my son and then my husband.
I of course am all done and ready to go to dinner before anyone else. :)

You should be fine as long as you get along reasonably well. lol

My 13 & 14 year old sons were both very uncomfortable in the top bunk. We had disagreements each night about who would sleep where.

I am 5'9 and the couch was too "short" for me because I sleep at the bottom of my pillow. If I wiggled up to the center of my pillow I would have been okay, but it was not comfortable and I was on a BRAND NEW, never been slept on yet, couch bed on the Wonder after the refurb.

My husband spent one night up there when my 7 year old and I got a little sea sick and stole the big bed. He did not fit at all (5'10", 190lbs) and said it was pretty miserable. Bless his heart for not disturbing us though!!
