4 adults in room, each paying incidentals independently

Every single time I have tried to do this it has not worked. You will spend too much wasted time at the front desk trying to get this set up and then you will have to come back when you realize that it's not been done correctly. I am talking hours worth of time waiting in line, setting up, waiting in line, trying to fix it, repeat, lather, rinse....

Trying to read the Disney room charge bill to separate out the charges is a nightmare in and of itself.

No matter what anyone tells you, this will NOT be set up correctly and it is to be avoided like the plague.

Another complication is when the person reserving the room puts a credit card on file. You can ask the front desk to not allow your children or other people on the reservation to not be allowed to charge to that credit card but that has never been taken care of successfully for us either.

Disney says they can do all this but it is not to be believed.

Other people can only charge to the room if you tell them the PIN that you set up. Don't tell them the PIN and they won't be able to use their Magic Band to charge back to the room. They will have to pay cash or use a credit card at the POS.

Excellent suggestion Sue.

I cut off the sticky strip from a post it note and put it on the gift card. Then at the register, I ask to borrow the CM's Pen and write the remaining balance on the post it sticky strip so I can see the declining balance. That way there is no confusion, especially when carrying multiple gift cards. You have to empty the first one before you start the next.

I do the same thing with my Disney rewards card

For dining, way back in that past when magic bands first came out, I don't recall having to give a pin. I could be wrong though.

The problem I had the second time was that I was taking two friends of my son and we HAD to set it up so they could charge to their individual magic band credit cards. The parents wanted to have them keep careful track of their spending but did not want them to carry the credit card around with them.

It was a frustrating, time consuming disaster of having every one herded back to the front desk to try and fix it, which never happened.
