I'm here.....Just seems that as soon as I joined the board everything got quiet. Still willing to be the coordinator for FE and will help structure it as the majority wish. Just have not heard anything at all from anyone and still reading through the older posts to determine how many thread members we have that are sailing.

I like the idea of a roll call. I say let's go for it. On past cruises I have coordinated a roll call on other cruise lines where we had a Directory with the groups pics and information to help with quick recognition. We included things such as screen name,hometown, which dining time we were on (though Disney's rotational dining effects this a bit....except for pre or post dinner drink options or common show times), where staying pre and post cruise. Any information we want to include is possible. I am also happy to organize something like this. Just offering, if there is interest.

OMG! I can't believe I haven't signed up on this meet already? We are sailing with you on an extended MV LOL yes we are sailing the Maiden Voyage the week before and stowing away for week 2 :rotfl2:

Coming from the UK we feel it's just too far to come for just one cruise so whenever we cruise we try and do B2B. We have just done christmas and new year cruises on the Magic.:banana: and will do another B2B on the fantasy in the summer. In. Fact one of the few cruises that we have done that have not been B2B was the MV of the Dream.

We get Platinum status on the MV but were not lucky enough to get Palo or Remy, but for this cruise we will get to Eat at Remy:banana:

Please excuse the fact that I am breaking this into multiple posts. But in order to use the PM function or to supply an email address in the message I have to have a minimum of 10 posts. So I split this up to get to that level.:confused3
 
OK all. I have committed to doing the FE organizing and since I will be asking people to contact me have decided to go ahead and handle a directory as well. I think the directory will be super helpful especially since this thread has 14 pages of posts by poeple who are no longer on this sailing.

Please feel free to participate in one, both, or neither. If neither though, I hope you will speak up on the boards so we can really keep track of who will be going.
 
For FE could you please send me an email with the following information:
  • Stateroom Number
  • Disboard name
  • First name of each person in the stateroom
  • Relationship of each person to you (DH, DW, DD, DS, etc.)
  • age of the children in the stateroom

The FE information will only be shared with those who choose to participate in it. Deadline for sending information is Friday 16 March 2012.
 
For the Directory, all of the above information and then the following optional information:
  • Family Name
  • Hometown
  • Castaway Club level
  • Pre and post cruise time at WDW (if any)
  • Pre and post cruise hotel (if any)
  • Dinner Seating time
  • Any excursions or Adult Dining you have planned

Also if you would like to send a photo of your group, I can include that.

The directory information will only be shared with those people who choose to participate in it. Deadline for sending information is Friday 23 March 2012.
 
And now that I have reached the magical 10 post level......

I will sift through the threads from about page 14 to try and extract as much information as I can from threads you have posted, but an email would really be helpful.

I am excited about this now. And looking forward to doing this as it will make the counting of days more exciting.:wizard:

Ok I have scoured the entire thread and done my best to try and create a list of those who are sailing on the 7 April 2012 sailing of the Fantasy. I have likely missed someone or included someone who has abandoned this sailing for the MV or another sailing.

Please take a look and let me know what needs added, deleted, changed, etc.

Christopher, you might want to contact a moderator to ask about having a link to the roll call moved to the first page of this thread. We did that with a prior cruise and it was nice because people didn't have to remember the page and post # to get back to the roll call. We also used it for posting other info about DISmeets, FE deadlines, etc. Just an idea! :goodvibes

P.S. Thanks for taking on these tasks...my plate is pretty full and I don't know if I could have run with it like you are!

I was also thinking that perhaps it might not be a bad idea to ask a moderator if they can remove or hide the first 13 and half pages of posts. That is when the shift of the MV happened and many if not most moved toa new thread. I'll see what they can do.

I understand the full plate syndrom as well. But I just have DDuffy at home and not kids to take care of as many of you do, so I am happy to run with these. It actually keeps me excited and on the boards everyday. I am hoping that we can get a really active group going as we approach the 2 month mark.

Has any discussion about an onboard meet been started yet? There are lots of choices......for the families it could be Sail Away, an Aqua Duck ride, meeting as a group to see a show, especially if there is a matinee, group activities at Castaway Cay such as volleyball, nature walk or bike ride.... for the adults it could be one of the tasting events or we could choose a different lounge in the Europa District each night to be a gathering place. It can be as little or as big as we want it to be. Just throwing out ideas and happy to hear opinions from any and all.

That would be great if the mods could take off some of the first pages of this thread. People who do come to the thread may read a little bit, think it's the maiden voyage group and bail or think it's an old inactive thread because they know this particular week is not the MV anymore.

I have made the two requests to the moderator and await their reply. If they are not able to remove or hide the beginning they may be able to close this thread with a notice that it has been done so due to the change and give a link to a new thread that we create. But that could lead to even more confusion so I await the monitor's reply.
