4/3 "deal": Please help me with the math.

Sorry, I know I'm probably way late to this, but the math doesn't seem to work for me:

For our trip late February/early March, I can book a room at Poly for 7 nights for $3,864. 7 day park hopper tickets are $1,184, for a total of $5,048 at "regular" price. Divide that total by 7, times 4, and I get $2,885. The price I've been quoted is $3,333. If this has been discussed to death already I'm sorry, but what am I missing?

From what I have read, for the 4/3 deal they charge each night at the highest price. So, normally you pay weekday & weekend prices, but w/the deal, you pay all 4 nights at weekend prices. I don't know this for sure, but it's what I have read on here. That's what may be bringing the price up.
Someone else care to add or tell me I have heard wrong?

I haven't looked at the room costs, but the first thing I notice is that you aren't calculating tickets correctly. You can't just take a % of the ticket price because ticket prices aren't $X per day.

A 7 day adult ticket is $228. Park hopper is $50 more for $278 total.

A 4 day adult ticket is $219. Park hopper is $50 more for $269 total.

With the discount, you are only getting a few dollars off the ticket price.

------

Just did a rough estimate of the room costs.

$3864 / 7 * 4 = $2208

$2208 + 1184 = $3392

Take off the few bucks for ticket discount and you get $3,333.

I agree with this. You're not really saving any money on tickets, it's mostly on the room.

See - that's why I asked here. You folks are too smart. That makes sense to me. Thanks!
