DH got off early today (yippee! Boss is out of town!!) so we went to the Post Office and dropped off Tori's passport stuff!!! $82 dollars later, we are done and playing the waiting game! Short, sweet and painless!! Aaaahhhhh....

Hi susie

That must be heartbreaking to watch the ship sail the panama canal . I would probally cry too :sad1:

We would love to do the 10 cruise to the Southerrn Caribbean . It may be trip for us next year or 2007 but I really want to go as per I have been on 4 cruises to the Southern Caribbean and that is my favorate itenerary .

Wow Phillyjen , your schools start early , most of ours is next week I'm sure you remember thou . Funny thing is I probally know your friend that adopted the children from China . I use to work 1 day a week at Gymboree (discount of course ) and there was a few I knew with children from China , oh they are such beautiful children , we looked into adopting one ourselves .Oh thats another thing I love and it is Gymboree , we own the store and I bought the matching Mommy outfits for the cruise next year ( how corny huh ? ).We actually have all new clothes that I have been stashing away just for the cruises , it is a sickness !!!

have a wonderful night everyone .

I bought a bunch of clothes during the sales from Gymboree just for the cruise as it will be winter weather here and I will need summer clothes for my daughter for the cruise.

I got some very cool tropical stuff from Janie and Jack too for her (the Gymboree high end store). I am finding it hard to imagine what she will be like. Right now she is a baby, not even crawling. By the time of the cruise she will be walking and hopefully saying some things and have a good head of hair. Its really strange to think about when planning for the cruise. What will she be like? Will she be OK with characters? Will she be OK with cruising on a big ship? Will she be running everywhere or OK to keep in control? Will she sleep in a pack and play then? It gives me hives thinking of all the what ifs. I'm fairly sure it wil all be fine, but its wierd to try and plan for a little person you don't really even know yet. Right now she is a great little baby who smiles all the time and hates being a baby - she wants big girl food and to sit up and play with her big brother. I have no idea what she will be like as a one year old.

Goodmorning everyone. I am sick, sick, sick. We leave for a mini vacation tonight and I am very sick. This stinks. We are just going up to our place in Maine, but I feel like sleeping the vacation away rather than enjoying myself. Oh well. I can't postpone it because this weekend marks the end of our free time (well, somewhat free time) and from here on out its crazy every weekend until the new year. This will make the time till the cruise move much faster, but its going to be crazy.

HEHE Casrltegazer , my daughters will probally match yours  . I have outfits for the 7 days which includes 3 different outfits for each day and outfits for the 4 days at Dsiney , (yup it's a sickness ) I even have mine which I refuse to wear have of them .

I know what you mean about the what if's . I am sure your daughter will love the cruise especially since there is going to be so many children . I keep thinking what if my girls get sick , what if my girls don't sit long enough for dinner , just silly things too , they are so good thou so I am sure we will be fine . I am especially scared about the verandeh on our November cruise and I have concider switching rooms with my mom , but I really want to be able to sit out there and just leave all my worries behind , oh yeah and maybe a drink or too ! I am dying to have breakfast on the verandeh .

I'm so sorry you are sick  . Isn't it the worst feeling knowing you are leaving and not knowing how you will feel tomorrow ? I hope you feel better !

Counting down my November cruise 15 weeks 4 days :hourglass
Can't count down Disney yet I know that bellandrellasmom is taking care of that , thank you bellaandrellasmom :boat:

Oh boy I don't even know how to count down LOL .

My November cruise is 12 weeks 3 days away . :hourglass

239 MORE DAYS :jumping3: :Pinkbounc :jumping3: :Pinkbounc

We are off to the Windy City suburbs (Chicago) for a soccer tournament this weekend for DD (9)...we're leaving after school today though and spending one night downtown so that DD (7 next Wednesday :bday: ) can make a pit-stop at the American Girl store!!! B&R's Dad just loves that place!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Hope everyone has a fun, relaxing, sunny Labor Day weekend!!!

Wonder how lsutigger2 is doing down in Louisiana??? Has anyone seen her post on another board???

make a pit-stop at the American Girl store!!! B&R's Dad just loves that place!!!

Hee-hee! I would love to go there and see what's up but DH would rather shoot himself! Have a wonderful time though (and Happy Birthday!!) and good luck on the soccer tourny!

Everyone have a safe and fun Labor Day! Although, why it's called Labor Day when everyone just sits around doing nothing, is beyond me! :confused3 :rotfl:

Wow , I just went to the Disney cruise :boat: website to see how much our transfers were because we may not need them back from Port Canaveral . The price of our stateroom went up by $1400.00 dollars already , thats is amazing to me it would be $5034.98 , I am glad I booked when I did :goodvibes

It would be interesting to know how much your verendahs went up !

Hope everyone has a safe Holiday weekend .

OMG!! Our cabin went up $2100!!!! Woe! Glad we booked when we did....

Thats unbelievable suzie :faint: !

I don't think I would be going at that price . This may be the last sail for us unless the prices do down . It may be the panick of gas prices , but I can book 3 cruises for the price of this one . I am so excited thou that we are doing this and I would never change it , it will be an amazing trip and I can't wait to see my daughters faces :)

I know when we were looking at this cruise (almost a year ago) the price was around $4500 for our family in a cat 6. Way up from the May 1st '04 crusie we took!!!

We checked again when we were booking the RCI crusie we decided on and it was up to $5500!!! Ouch!

The RCI cruise is almost half that and we have a verandah cabin as well.

Disney is a fantastic cruise, it's jsut extremely expensive now!

Hi Disneyjam

When are you going on your RCCL ? Which ship ?

We are leaving in 12 weeks on the Legend of the Seas . We have a junior suite and it is also half the price of Disney and we just have a porthole window . For my girls thou I think this Disney cruise is going to be such a magical trip :)

We are going the week before you all are going on this cruise. April23 - April30.

We are taking the Explorer of the Seas and making stops in Belize, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman. We have crusied RCCL a couple of times and really enjoy them as well. Our kids are looking forward to ice skating and the rock wall on this one.

Disney is definitely a must do cruise!!!! We were on a 3 day Wonder a few years ago, which is really not enough time, so we took the 7 day Magic back in May '04 (where we meet BellAndRella's Mom & Dad, PhillyJen, and a few others on this thread). The kids loved it, we loved it, everyone we met loved it, so I think it's safe to say you and your girls will love it!!

We will eventually get back on a Disney cruise (actually played with the idea of going on the 10 or 11 day southerns that are happening in Sept). Hopefully, the rumors are true and Disney will build the new ship soon and hopefully that helps with the prices.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!!!

Hi again , can you tell I'm bored today ? This I think is my 4th post LOL .

Disneyjam you are making the same stops we are , I'll let you know how it is , or maybe you have already been there . I know in Belize we are doing ,well my husband and I are doing the Skytrek and Cave tubing adventure , I can't wait for that :Pinkbounc

I am also looking into the 10 Southern , I love the southern islands , thats what I usaully chose . We have been to St Thomas too many times . It may not be until 2007 that we go thou , We will see how this 7 day goes before we book it thou .How old are your kids ? I think mine are too young for the rocking climbing wall . One of the RCCL ships I want to is the FReedom of the Seas .That maybe next year in the fall .

I heard about the new ship , but I also heard they are waiting for the ecomony to improve so our dollar is stronger again , they said right now it would probally cost double the price it was before .

That's so funny you are going on the same ship! Definitely let me know what you think! The Freedom sounds like a great ship also. Maybe we'll end up on the same trip.

We have been to Grand Cayman and Cozumel, but not the other 2 stops. We were thinking about the tubing thing, but we are scuba divers and the diving is suppose to be excellent in Belize, so I guess we will see what ends up happening.

My son will be 8 and daughter 6. Not sure they are old enough for the wall either, but we explained that to them already.

Started my cruise album last week - got my butt in gear! - and I've been slaving over it. Now about 1/2 way done! I figure I'll get everything done right around the time our next cruise comes along! hee-hee

Just wanted to share my relief..... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

You mean a cruise scrapbooking album for the upcoming cruise? I am a reformed paper scrapbooker and have just moved into digital scrapbooking and I AM LOVING IT! I get all my materials for free, I make a beautiful - no stunning - layout - in one night, and I can share it instantly with family or like yesterday I made a layhout for my son to take to school because.......

we just spent a couple days in the hospital with him - he had a respiratory thing that lots of kids seem to get when they get bad colds. He couldn't breathe or stop coughing and wheezing. Thank God the hospital where we were on vacation was a good one.

My cold has gone for worse to really bad.

Hope all is well for you all - we will all be on the mend soon.

You mean a cruise scrapbooking album for the upcoming cruise?
Nope, this is the one for the cruise we did last May! I feel like I'm going in spurts and can't keep up with all my books, so I'm focusing on this one and hope that it will be done before the upcoming cruise! I couldn't imagine trying to do two at the same time!!! AARRGGHH! :earseek: :earseek:

Healthy vibes to you all! Get better soon!

Side note: Tori started school today! She goes three days a week. Bummer is that I found out her Spring Play will be while we're on our cruise! Someone asked me why I didn't change my cruise date....uh, ....

Hi everyone

Well I hope everyone had a nice Holiday weekend . Tori's picture is sooooooo cute Suzie . was she excited about her first day going to school :teacher: or was she a little scared ? I think we are going to wait and send our girls next year .

Did everyone hear that today they are predicting the price of gas to go up by 70% sometime this fall ? I have been trying to search for flights back from Florida , we are already booked going down but Jetblue is only booking until May 2nd , go figure ! Do you all have your flights booked already ?

What do you guys think of Carnival and their ships going to help the people in Mississsippi ? As for me I got a good chuckle . At first everyone thought "oh thats so nice of them " Well come to find out what they are not telling many people is that they are making triple the money through the Government to station the ships and house the people plus get a refurbishment on 2 of the ships . Now I guess the people do not want to go because they say they cannot take another move . Now what do you suppose most people did when they first heard of this that were suppose to sail them this fall ? I would imagine cancel :rotfl: I'm sorry but I have been on 4 Carnival cruises and I cannot stand them , I think the company is rotten to the core ! I do feel bad about the workers that are down there I am hoping that these ships will be used to house them while they are working so hard to clean up !I have decided not to watch to much more news coverage , I think now the pictures are going to become much to vivid and real , I especially have a hard time watching the pets that have been left behind .

bye bye for now !

I think you may have been hearing reports about natural gas going up by 71% this winter. Gasoline (petroleum) is hard to predict right now. I have natural gas in my house and am now contemplating finishing our home improvement project ahead of schedule to replace the windows in our upstairs bedrooms - we did downstairs last fall.

I have not booked my air yet as I book Southwest and they haven't released April yet.

Its a big broohaha up here right now how we as a state got ready to house 2,500 evacuees and then they decided not to come the day they were supposed to arrive - something about it being cold up here in MA and they didn't want to go so far from home. Now I understand it better - I hadn't heard about Carnival but I had heard that some Greek cruise line had sent their ships down so must be these people think it would be better to be house on a cruise ship than go all the way up to MA and have their kids enrolled in schools - all of ours had opened their doors including the private schools and have their own community as we were to be housing them on our military base with a movie theater and 4 to a room accomodations. What kind of solution is that! Are they going to live on those ships for the six-12 months that it will take to get them back to a community whatever community that may be in New Orleans?????? I am ticked at FEMA about this because it costs us as taxpayers enormous amounts to get the base ready and thousands of volunteers went down to the Cape to get everything ready only to be sitting there with no planes arriving - my son and I drove up to a collection site to donate teddy bears and clothing to be brought down to the base. Hundreds of schools shuffled their enrollments and tons of families made arrangements to open their homes. Now the volunteers have truck loads of donations for these evacuees with no where to put it and are now trying to figure out how to get it out of the state which is going to cost a ton of money to ship it down so they need further donations.

They need better communication - well, I guess basically FEMA needs better everything!

I can't stop cryng about the situation every time I turn on the TV, but I feel like we can't figure out what the hell is going on and if we can't as non-affected bystanders trying to help, just think what those poor people are going through.
