Tom, we are in desperate need of a quote to liven things up around here.

Here is my little metal stress reliever:

And for everyone today - this rounds on me!!!! ;)

ohsodisney - there's a difference between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. Fort Wilderness is the campground (with cabins too which are great!) and is where Pioneer Hall is (the building that houses the Hoop Dee Doo performance). Wilderness Lodge is the Deluxe resort next door to the campground (a.k.a. FtWilderness). Wilderness Lodge has Artists Point, Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Roaring Forks. Ft. Wilderness has the Hoop Dee Doo, Crocketts Tavern, and Trails End Buffet (which is mighty good and a great value for anyone who cares).

Have fun at Lake George!!!!!

"Its a long ways off, but I think we will be eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe on Thursday night."

OH! We LOVE WL! We stayed there this past June for a quick Disney fix after our cruise in May. Actually got upgraded to concierge level but it's still just wonderful over all! The lodge is beautiful and so much to look at. WCC is my daughter's favorite - not because of the food (which is really good) but because daddy has to dance the flower dance! It was pretty hysterical! Wish I'd had my video camera....

Anyone else going to be at The World in September? We're going for my birthday weekend and really looking forward to staying at the Dolphin. Would love to meet up with others before the cruise. We're also going in Oct/Nov for our week-long family trip. Want to try to meet up with BELLE AND RELLA's parents........anyone else??? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Well, those days of zero posts for days on end are over on this thread I guess! It's great to see all the new cruisers!!

PJ - Well there is little chance that HG is going to a different geek conference then me. VSLive?? It is over the columbus day holiday. I will arrive in Orlando early on Oct 9th (I wanted to catch the Ravens game at the ESPN zone downtown). Hopefully, we will get a change to grab those drinks!!

Well I hope you all enjoy your cruise!! For us... Our group has booked an RCL Voyager class through the southern caribbean about the same time you all will be on yours!! We'll have to compare notes when we all return!!

All May '04 cruisers I will miss not sailing with you!!! :grouphug:

BTJ - You are going to have a TON of fun! My cousins swear by RCCL.

Man, everyone I know in IT goes down to WDW for conferences.

I have conferences in Orlando but they are always over at the Peabody or some other such nonsense and non-fun resort.

OK - so tell me more about this Verandah Party!

Do you all have the pirate flag yet??? That was eons ago that we were talking about it, but don't think I forgot!

I think we will need one of these too:

We are back from the North Country, and the Wedding was great, almost as fun as the Pub Crawls that we went on the 2 nights before the Wedding.

CG, you want a Question of the Day:

QOTD:

How come thaw and unthaw mean the same thing?

Tom pirate:

Oooh, oooh, oooh, my son came up with a good QOTD too (that one was a good one Tom!) - he said to me last night why do trucks carry cargo - why don't they carry truckgo????

I forgot I wanted to post that here - thought you guys would appreciate it.

CG,

That one is very nice indeed. Tell your son that he has a future on the Boards, we are always looking for new talent.

I do have 2 more, one is decent and the other a little indecent.

QOTD:

When the snow melts where does the White go?

and then the other one,

Why do you take a dump, when you are actually leaving it?

Sorry,

Tom pirate:

We have to get Tori a passport now (DH and I already have ours). I'm so very confused on what we have to do. Can someone explain to me the process? - she is three years old. I keep seeing that we have to GO TO the passport office - both of us! - with her to apply. But people keep telling me that I only have to send things in....hence my dilema! What is the right thing??? I really would hate to have to spend a day at the State Department in DC again (Lost a whole day 9 years ago when we applied for ours - what a nightmare!!!!!! I REALLY DON'T want to do that again!). Our TA is on the Repo cruise right now so I can't really ask her. I really want to get this done before the end of the year so that we don't get bogged down in the cluster of people trying to do it last minute before Dec 31!

Why can't things be easy anymore??

Thanks for any advice!

Suzie,

We are in the process of doing the same for our children. Accourding to the passport office, you do both have to be there along with birth certificates and pass port pics of the kids. But you do not have to go to DC. There are passport offices in most post offices with set times of when you can go to drop off the necessary documents. So it is a little inconvienent since you will both have to be there, but it's not as bad as going to DC.

Hope this helps!

QOTD
Why do they call them buildings when they are already finished building them? Shouldn't they be called builts?

Disneyjam - thanks for the reply! I can deal with the post office thing just not the trip to DC! DH thought that the reason we had to go was because I was born overseas (military dad), so there were birth certificate issues. So good to hear that the local PO could probably do it. The only issue we will have is the times that they do this - I'll check that today. DH gets home around 4:30 from work (not a problem if they have later hours) but has a really hard time with getting off early for things - work issues with his job and he is THE only employee so it creates a bit of a problem sometimes. Vacation, not a problem; getting off early, not easy.....go figure!

So, I just need the form, 2 pics, her birth certificate and the money? Sound right??

Thanks again!!! Hopefully this won't be too painful! Just to my wallet - ouch! Did you see those prices?!?! Oh, well.....one less Dole Whip on our next trip (okay, a few......)

Well we are back from Six Flags , what a great time . My girls loved Toon Town and I even got them on the baby rollercoaster . I did the comet rollercoaster 6 times and then the boomerang at the end , good thing it was at the end becuase my equalibreium has been off for 2 days now and i just want to sleep :cloud9:

Suzie

We are going to been eating at the Wispering Canyon Cafe on Thursday too , it is on our Dining Plan and I would love to see the Lodge . Let me know when you know for sure and we can met up .

As far as passports go we did ours 2 weeks ago so we can have it for our cruise in 14 weeks :boat: and my husband had to both be there . I know you can go with just one parent but there is paperwork you will need in order to do that .

Has anyone been to Disney for Halloween ? We are thinking of going next October . Are the parks decorated and is there trick or treating on Main Street ? :maleficen

Is anyone planning on trying RCCL newest ship the Freedom . It is amazing ,well the pictures are . It has a water park for the kids right on the ship . I am not crazy about the itenarary it is just Western for now .

QOTD
Behind every sucessful man stands a suprised Mother-in Law :rotfl2:

Suziemva - its very unclear whether or not passports are still going to be required by the state department for 2006. See this thread for the latest discussion on the topic: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=890703&page=2&pp=15&highlight=passports

I picked up our forms from our post office a few weeks ago and have been filling them out at home in anticipation of going in to the post office to file them and have them processed. I am still intending on getting passports for my family - I am the only one with one. I think its just a much simpler way to travel and makes customs in St. Thomas a hell of a lot easier. But the application process is fairly easy and should not involve wasting an entire day.

If one parent is not going to be present, you must send notorized affadavits in with the other parent. It is spelled out on the state department's web site which is linked in the above thread. It is much easier to just both go.

ohsodisney - apparently we need to set up a meet for Thursday before the cruise at Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Go over to the The Park Attraction and Strategy Board and search for the threads involving MNSSHP (Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party). There are tons and tons of discussions going on about Halloween in WDW right now over there. I have never been during that time - I am a spring Disney chick.

Good quote of the day by the way. My mother, however, likes my husband and my sister's husband more than she likes us sometimes - she is an awesome mother-in-law, completely spoils her sons-in-law.

Wow Suzie , is that pictures of Wispering Canyon ? If so it is grogeous , I am so excited  . I'm ready to leave now !

I am a Spring chick too but my daughters birthdays :cake: are on Halloween :scared1: and this would be perfect .

Do you know if reservations can be made at Wispering canyon ? I will do it today if I can .I think I'll give them a call .

Good luck with the passports . We just went to the post office for ours .

Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR's now instead of PS's) can't be made for WDW property dining until 90 days out which will be a very busy time because it will be just a day or two prior to being able to make DCL reservations if your are a Castaway Club Member.

By the way, my name is not Suzie - Suzievma is Suzie. I will PM you with my name, but I don't like it used on the boards - its very unusual and blows my cover.

Hey, for all you 2004 cruisers, I've got a smilie for you guys:

:rotfl2: We sang this at every party when I was in college!

Castlegazer - your PM box is full!!!

Boy, that sounds a little strange doesn't it? :rotfl: I meant it only in the best of ways.... :rolleyes1

Just thought I'd pop in quick and say a quick hello. We are off camping tomorrow. Our entire summer holidays rolled into one quick weekend. We did end up finding a tent to borrow, so we won't be sleeping in the truck now! :cheer2: Looks like our house might be sold so we are putting our furniture in storage for a few months, but we still haven't found a house to rent between now & when we buy something. Hopefully our offer to purchase the land will go through this week, and we can finalize arrangements for a house to put on it. I think that makes us homeless right now! LOL :rotfl: All the house renovations should be done by Christmas, and I can bring some before and after pictures on the cruise. It will be all worth while, but I'm sure thinking about the cruise right now. It can't come soon enough!!

You are going to have one crazy time in your life right now!!!

Have fun camping. I am a Ft. Wilderness cabins type of camper. I used to be president of my universities outdoor club but sadly, I now love the comforts of good egyptian cotton sheets and down comforters.
