Pat,

Thanks for the list, sorry about the four letter word, I will have to go shopping and pick up some of your sonoma cabs maybe even try a merlot. I have had silver oak and it was fantastic, but with the Queen and 3 princesses we need something a little more affordable.

QOTD:

If soap is used to get you clean, why does it leave a scum?

Tom pirate:

I had to work for the last 24 hours and I figured I would try to catch up before I get the kids on the bus this am.You guys had lots to talk about.

suzie..nice scrap book.I love when the kids come to the fire house. In fact it helped me get through some of the worst times of my life.I'm not sure if you remember the station night club fire.I was working that day and all the little kids from our town sent us cards afterwards and it really helped. You tell your daughter that it means as much to them as it does to her. :)

on a lighter note......tom, you the man!!!!!!! Keep them coming.

Belle&Rellasmom....No I missed house hunters.I love to see all the different prices of homes around the country.

Alright, I got to work and read my QOTD, how weak was that, I think, no I know that I can do better. So scrap the last one and lets try this one,

QOTD:

If a number 2 pencil is the most popular, why is it still Number 2?

Where is everyone this morning, I get home at 11:30 last night, after not seeing my computer since 6 and had to stay up for a half an hour just to read all the posts. I am already worried that Vero will not have wireless and I will have to revert to remote dialup to stay in touch when we go in 47 days (sorry but I had to rub it in a little).

Well better get to work, so I can pay the bills.

Great thing was that one of the guys there - the one that let Tori wear his helmet - was one of the men that came to our house when Ed had his heart attack a year and a half ago! He'd been over at the OWL station down from us but had recently transferred to Dale City! He was really nice an dasked how things were going. I couldn't believe he remembered us! He said that Ed was memorable because they couldn't get him to sit down on the gurney - he wanted to walk out to the ambulance so that the neighbors wouldn't be frightened! HA!!! Anyway, the guy's name tag caught my eye first. Good thing!

Yeah, I remember the night club incident.....sorry to hear about that. What a rough fire!

PJ - Love the dog! What a beauty! I miss our little baby but not ready to get another one - if ever. We had issues with bladder control toward the end and my beautiful (non-vaccuum) hardwood floors upstairs were ruined. So, now we had them cleaned and wtw carpeted, hence the freakin' horrid job that I hate so much! Move the furniture, move it back, make sure the lines all go the same way....yes, I'm one of THOSE! I just can't stand when you can tell that the furniture wasn't moved and the person just went AROUND the furniture....ie: my husband......Funny thing is, it's only the living room that has to be that way! The other carpeting I could care less about...just get the dirt cleaned off the carpet!

Question to former cruisers: Where do I find info about the onboard ship tours - the napkin folding, the galley tour and whatever else...I'm fascinated by this and didn't pay any attention to it last time because Tori was too young to be there and we didn't know they would accept her into the OC because of her age! So, this time, I really don't want to miss out!

TIA! Gotta get Tori ready for school. Can you believe after all the strange weather recently we are to get snow this weekend!?!!?? Tori is of course excited, I am less than thrilled...

Stevemed(and anyone who remembers my "sail away" treat(which is sort of a contradiction in terms after 2 kids) for the RCCL ship docked next to us in St. Thomas)-I bet if you give HGP enough beers he will tell you a funny story about me in Florida(A1A actually- this is becoming a frightning pattern) after "Jamaican Me Crazy" in Melborne and a station full of firefighters sitting out in front of the station one warm(hint..hint-maybe too warm for my shirt :teeth: ) evening....... Ok that was pretty much the whole story- but I was so drunk that I was SURE that it was an acceptable way to "repay" our brave men in uniform for all their sacrifice!!! Suzie does scrapbooks, I show my "yabows" according to HGP!!!:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: I just crack up just thinking about that night. Then after I did it, all proud, my BIL says to me...."Uh, Jen....those windows(in their suburban) are tinted.....they can't see you!!" :firefight

Alright- back to the mall for some retail therapy! and I AM going to get that Sterling Chard for tonight. I guess we are going to get snow???? hmmm it is amazing what you find out at the bus stop! I of course have no time in my life to check weather.com since the disboards are consuming my life!

PJ

Suzie-onboard ship tours are listed in the Navigators...Check mouse savers(oneword) dot com! I think they are listed their and check google for Daves DCL tribute site. I don't know the exact url, but when I get back from the mall, maybe I will post it on the other site!

HAve a good day! You'd be appalled at my carpets right now!!!

PJ

What is this hoo ha about moving furniture? I scoff at that notion! :snooty:

Actually what drives me nuts, and anyone with any suggestions beyond getting down on my hands and knees is welcome to lay it on me, is the dirt line around the edges of the walls. How the heck do you get that area? My vacuum must just suck, because I can't seem to get that without getting down on hands and knees and sucking it with the hose.

Suzie - the most recent navigators are here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/DCL-Navigator-Eastern-Dec/index.htm

Dave at DCL tribute has not updated in about two years. There is another site with some recent ones, but none more recent than the ones here at the DIS and I can't link you to that site - it's inkognito's site (the moderator for the cruise boards) to give you a clue, but she is a travel agent so whenever anyone posts her site it gets bleeped out. By far, the best out there right now are the ones from lbgraves here at the DIS. Hopefully prior to our cruise someone will get someone some new ones (that's a pretty good tongue twister).

STEVEMED - Knew tangentially people you must have been there for in their darkest and final minutes. Remember, I am from Worcester, and about 1/3 of the people seemed to have gone down to the concert from here - incuding a guy I see every day here at work, but he got out. My thoughts were always with the firefighters and rescue workers after the fire.

OK - after numerous fals alarms, I am ordering! Amy, I got your order.

So today I need to work, grocery shop at three different stores, buy decorations, and basically get it together FOR CATRINA's 1st BIRTHDAY PARTY TOMORROW! I am going to be insane today.

Thankfully the snow (which is going to be really bad PhillyJen) is holding off until after midnight tomorrow night.

Vacuuming is the least of my worries right now. We have drywall dust and sawdust from one end to the other. I should have taken a picture of my husband and my dad with the table saw in the middle of my living room. It must be pretty expensive carpet in here, because it cleaned up pretty good. We are going to use it downstairs now though as we found beautiful hardwood floors underneath. We put the hot water tubing in the basement floor so the cement is always warm, but nice soft carpet would nice anyway. I guess all the hard manual labour we have been doing is paying off in other ways too. I haven't had a scale since last August, so haven't been weighing myself (everything was in storage for 4 months, in case you forget my life history here!). My 14 yr old asked my sister to take me shopping, as I've never been known for my style. I didn't think about it at the time, but I bought a size smaller than I usually would. Now they are too big. I've lost 20 pounds since fall! I also have muscles in my arms that I haven't had since I was in my 20's. I still have 30 or 40 lbs to go, but not bad for not even trying! Who loses weight over Christmas?! :cool1:

We finally have a better internet connection, so I will try to post some pictures on the other site. I've got my office set up in the dining room right now, so at least one room has no boxes! :cheer2: I'd better get back to work, just thought I'd share my good news about the weight thing. I'll still be the glowing white whale on the cruise, but I used to live up north, and that is where the belugas come from anyway!!

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Jen, I am so happy that the newbies get to understand why I told them how they will learn about everything from pirate flags to yabows on this thread! :rotfl2: :rotfl: (aren't you all getting a little scared to have Jen out on your verandah right about now? :lmao: )

Man, it's almost Mardi Gras time, Jen. You getting ready? Make sure you're doing your arm exercises at the gym every day - lift up, pull down, lift up, pull down :rotfl2:

(she's going to either hate me or flash me by cruise time, I am sure of it)

BLBCB - The weight that comes off without trying is the weight that will stay off for good - AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! (you and me, we are going to start up the non tanned people club - I'll be vice president and take on the responsibility to have the sun blisters by the second day, OK).

I love the QOTDs! (Or is it QsOTD? What's grammer got to do with it, do with it?)

Anyway, here's ours:

Why do you have a pair of socks, a pair of shoes, a pair of pants, but only one bra?

The Roses

CG - the dirt line is the most fun! Especially when you have a dark haired animal living with you - and I don't mean Ed! Our dog's hair was everywhere - including my toothbrush one morning. Thank God I had a new one in the linen closet! That one went straight into the trash! Anyway, I just use my broom to go along the baseboards first then vaccuum everything up. Gives me a chance to get the cobwebs too! I really don't look up above my height but do sometimes notice them when they hang down in front of my face!

I do have some of the other websites listed (Dave's and mouse ears) but didn't see anything specific on the DCL site. Okay, will do more research on the sites. Thanks!

Snow, snow, snow! Yup, looks like we won't get NEAR as much as you guys! I'm so sorry!

Alright, I've lost a bit of weight this week due to watching what I put in my mouth, but now it's time to excercise again! Off to the treadmill!!!

BTJ!!! How they hangin'! How's Jen, Teddy and Madeline!? We are certainly going to miss you and that camera carrying buddy of yours! I can't believe we were only like 4 doors down(me and Tom came banging on your door the last night but you "weren't answering").....by the way....HG did indeed find out that the curtain between the grown up bed and the bunks is NOT soundproof!!!!

LOL :rotfl2: We found out that the walls aren't exactly sound proof either :lmao: We were out all night the last night of the cruise. We do have a pic of you from the balcony. I beleive it is from the St Thomas day! :thumbsup2 On the greeting sent to the fellow RCCL ship.

The family is doing pretty well, but Jen did have a little car accident last week. She is ok.. still sore and has a mild concusion, but over all nothing too serious. She was rear ended while waiting at a light, and of course if that weren't enough, the impact sent her in to the car in front. Teddy and Maddie are doing well. No more lax for Teddy he will stay with baseball and woohoo!!! Football!!! He wants to play this year!!! Maddie is the little gymnast now. Competing at lvl 4 and doing ok! Starting to place and is just shy of qualifing for the state championships.

BTJ - painful as it is for you to stop by - it's nice to see your posts.

BTJ...nice to hear from you...you know that you and Jen will definitely be missed on this trip!!!

Bow Tie Joe...sorry I don't get to meet you and Jen, but will definately shake the Pango Mans hand on boarding. Hope he will be there to Greet all of us.

Thanks for the kind words!! I wish we could be there with you all!! Sounds like this is gonna be even more fun then last time!! :grouphug:

CG,

Because of Philly Jen, I am thinking about upgrading our two cabins to ones with Verandahs, YABBA YABBA YABOWS. Patrick is a lucky man, it is funny that you have Catrinas 1st Bday tommorrow, someone was just saying to me that they don't want to go to Disney with their kids yet because they were to young and wouldn't remember. So I asked them if they had a 1st birthday party for their child and they said yes, I said why they wouldn't remember it.
Anyway sorry to go off on my tangent, it happens, good luck with the Party, btw it is good to have you back.

Stevemed, have a friend who is a firefighter/EMS in East Lansing, MI. They are in charge of dealing with everything on Campus at Michigan State as well as in the city, it has to be tough, Thanks for doing it.

BowTie, now don't just go away, hang with us my brother from another mother, Kadir this is Joe I need another round, it won't be the same, but watch out if the cell phone works on the islands. Tell JenLynn that we are thinking about her, ask the Queen I dislike sitting at a stop light or when I have to hit my brakes, I always look in my mirror to see if anyone is coming up to fast.

Suzie, you should come over and show me exactly what you mean by sweeping with a broom and then using the vaccuum. I don't really get it, but if you showed me throughout our house I am sure I could pick it up (sorry about the pun).

Roses, I like it, anytime you can throw Bra into a conversation I am there. Here is another one for you.

QOTD:

If white wine goes with fish, do white grapes go with Sushi?

Tom pirate:

BHwawaaahhhaaaa :lmao: You are on a freakin roll today TT.

I am sitting here litterally giggling (not hard for me - I will be all you guys' best audience - I laugh at anything).

well, you know that awesome crazy shopping spree I NEEDED to do at lunch time - well, this blond forgot her wallet at home.
7.gif
I have a grand total of $10 to my name right now. I need to stuff my face with that and pick up some stuff I just don't trust my husband to get at BJ's. This will be challenging. I am such an idiot!!!!
4.gif
Thank God my husband can go to (see I spell it out each and every time rubysmom) the store for me.

Jen, I've got a good smilie for you and your signature

Oh, sure! Make me come and SHOW you! I suppose I'll have to show you repeatedly, huh! Say, like, oh, everytime it's time to vaccuum?!?! Hey, I may be a blonde, but I'm not that blonde!! Actually, a great way to get rid of that dirt line is......DUCT TAPE!!! Hey, I had to get that in for your wife's benefit!

Ed got home a bit ago while I was in the shower, started folding laundry for me, and now it's time to go pickup Tori. Don't want to be late again!

Why don't we all pack one bottle of wine for sharing purposes and have a wine and cheese party to sample everyone's favs?

We can have something else for those who wish not to imbibe.

Hey CG , are you going to be at Whispering Canyon on Wednesday night ? I would love to met up . Is there anyone else who would like to get together ? We have dinner reservations at 6:20 and were planning on heading back to Disney for the fireworks , but we can also just relax and have a few drinks too !

Yes, Whispering Canyon for me on Wednesday night. I have not made a PS yet. But, would be available for drinks prior to around the pool - like say, 5pm? Would this be cramping some park time for you, though?

Let me know - we can work this out so we can meet. I plan on just hanging out at the resort on Wednesday, not try and fit in any park time. We go to MK on Thursday. Depending on the kids, I also would like to mosey over to the Polynesian after dinner for fireworks.

cg..I'm glad the guy you work with got out.God must have been on his side.Enough talking about this.Let's think about what you will be doing 77 days form now.....I'll go first

Eating lunch and sipping on a tropical drink.

Suzie..I also want to take all of the onboard ship tours. They sound like lots of fun.

Theroses...sounds like you can give Tom a run for his money.I know, let's have a quote off.

AND AS FOR PHILLYJEN..maybe the cards form the little kids weren't such a great gift.

I know one other thing I will be doing 77 days from now.....

looking over the ship's edge for phillyjen to board so I can toss some mardi gras beads to her. :teeth:

:rotfl:

I will be sitting by the Mickey Pool going, I thought those know-it-alls on the boards told me that no one goes here the afternoon of boarding, as I strive for my first gold medal in the event of lounge chair hunting.

I like 78 days better (first day on board cruise ships is never relaxing for me). 78 days from now I will be waking up looking out my floor to ceiling window at the ocean as far as I can see thinking, oh my, it's been too long!

______________
Ok - this is how I spent my $10 to my name. $0.99 Wendy's hamburger (I am now starving again). $8.69 at the grocery store on dry milk, red food coloring, three cans of veggies for my wee one who has two teeth only, and that's it. $0.65 can of Diet Coke to tave off the hungries.

The dry milk and food coloring are for making the peanut butter playdough for the kids.

Now I need to bum $2 to buy some red balloons or go later tonight.
